I am going to do my best to describe this antique ... morebrass microscope. But as I am not an expert by any means in this area please forgive any incorrect terminolgy. Any questions or information is all welcomed and appreciated. This microscope is made of brass and black metal. All we have done is to dust this piece. So the brass. Although warm appears scratched. It looks really retro as it is. But I would think if you wanted to use it you would need to shine it up. I leave the cleaning of these valuable older treasures to the experts. The base is black and measures 5 1/2" longest) 3 3/4" widest) Base does have minimal surface rust(photo 7) and a screw that does turn. I think this screw may tighten the base into place. Back of base has a round metal plate that I think is brass. It reads: Bausch& Lomb Optical Rochester N.Y. New York City. The Bausch is a little hard to read. The mirror rotates and swings freely. The mirror measures 1 3/4" across. The metal around one side of the the mirror has some age rust(photo 7) One side of the mirror magnifies the other is just regular mirror. The mirror side that does not magnify has some silver loss around the edge(see photo 7) this does not seem to effect the visiblity. The mirror will be removed for shipping as to decrease the risk of breakage. The area that holds the slides is black, the two slide holders are intact with good movement and I think they are brass. The opening in slide stage is 1/2" The underside of the slide plate has a circular dial I believe brass piece. This circular dial has 4 holes, I think they are used to regulate the light that reaches the mirror. This dial moves freely and the largest opening measures 1/2" across. The microscope raises up and down without problems but may need to be lubricated. At the tallest it is 14" retracted 11" The piece closest to the slide stage is marked: Bausch& Lomb 16 mm 0.25 N.A. T

VINTAGE ANTIQUE JUG HANDLE MODEL BAUSCH & LOMB CO. MICROSCOPE WITH CASE
I happen to own a very cool and keenly designed early Jug Handle 1900's Bausch and Lomb Microscope with variable light adjustment mirror on the bottom that can be flipped to amplify light even more. As you can tell there is only one top focal piece which does not seem to be removable or stationary at any position but can easily be raised or lowered. The lower magnifiers are easily switched by turning the mechanism either to the right or left. At present the microscope sits a 11.5 inches but can as high as 14 inches. The items seems to never have been professionally polished and has what appears to be blued iron with brass. The item could clean up really well if you are into that sort of thing. All knobs are smooth and appears to be operational. I have peered down through the whole but have not tried to focus in on anything currently. ... moreBut I can see that there are no major obstructions to doing so. Below the platen, is an aperture control such as the shutter on a camera. It seems to be functional, but is a bit bent slightly at the closed position from a bit of misuse or old age. The Case- Seems to be the original case and is made purely out of some kind of hard wood but can not be totally for sure. If you look closely at the finish. It seems to have set out in a moist area for some time and allow the case to mildew which has dicolored the varnish a bit. Looking at the front, it appears that there is a small label that says Microscope, yet is hard to make out. Some clown, at some time, decided that he'd be a wise guy and appeared to have slightly carved a larger spelling of Microscope on to the wood but is barely noticeable, but I wanted to mention that. The lock mechanism seems to be intact but there is no key. Baucsh& Lomb must have been in Rochester. NY because I can see it on the lower magnifying lenses which also can be removed for examination or replacement. Inside the case. There seems to be some kind of area that would hold more lenses, but I am not able to remove or jar the wood holder away from

Antique German brass microscope. Marked E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany No. 250088 Very good condition; I do not see anything wrong with it. No scratches, dents or damage that I can see. It came from the estate of a doctor who had a large collection of microscopes. This was on a shelf in his home library. It appears to have been well taken care of. As to whether it is in working condition. My best guess is that it probably is functional, considering where it came from and how it was stored and displayed. I am not a science person, nor an expert on microscopes, and only remember how to use one from high school science classes, but from what I can see, it is in very good to excellent condition, and all the knobs rotate freely and easily. What a great find. Looks like a beautiful museum piece. For it's age I would say condition is decent. Microscope moves and appears to function but the lens are dirty and need to be cleaned. To be fully functional I would believe it needs a good thorough cleaning/ oiling ect. It appears to be mostly complete. Pictures show the different lens and eyepieces that are included. The wooden case has some wear. It has a crack on one side but is still solid and working. The lock is broken and appears the key broke off inside of it. For this item please inspect and study the images as they are your best description. There should be no need for returns but as an antique item like this it sells for AS IS. Antique Vintage German E. Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope #152080 Steampunk
Antique German brass microscope. Marked: E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany No.152080 Good vintage condition; there are some signs of wear: there is a chip on two of the corners of the flat surface where the slide goes. The japanning on the cast iron base shows wear. It came from the estate of a doctor who had a large collection of microscopes. This was on a shelf in his home library. It appears to have been well taken care of. As to whether it is in working condition. My best guess is that it probably is functional, considering where it came from and how it was stored and displayed. I am not a science person, nor an expert on microscopes, and only remember how to use one from high school science classes, but from what I can see, it is in very good condition, and the knobs rotate freely and easily. Antique-Vintage Hydrometer - Wooden Case. Wine, Alcohol, Beer Home brew making.
This hydrometer collectible dates from between the late 1890's to about 1920. It was used in wine. Alcohol and/or beer making. Breweriana collectors will love this item. Great present for the collector. I'm not sure if the hydrometer is sterling silver or another silver colored metal. But it has a very unusual and decorative bulb. The stem is numbered from 0 to 20. I have seen no other so decorative or ornate. It is a very special piece when paired with its own personal contoured wooden case. The carved wooden case. Which looks to be carved from a single solid piece of wood(see last picture) fits the hydrometer snugly and is lined with a deep purple velvet cloth on both top and bottom. There is obvious ware on the lining but still in very good condition. The stem is loose from the base(see picture#11) but. If desired, can easily be ... morerepaired. This is an ANTIQUE Spencer BRASS Microscope. It was given to me by my family doctor in 1955- he had it in medical school. It comes with a very tall beautiful GLASS VESSEL(Bell Jar) enclosure that envelopes the microscope. SEE PHOTOS) The Bell Jar consists of very thick heavy glass with a flat smooth bottom that creates a tight seal. It is 19.25 tall x 11” diameter at the base. And a 9” diameter cylinder. From an old Oyster Bay. Long Island, New York Estate comes this" Miniature" MICROSCOPE. I do not know much else about this item. It is INTRIGUING. I'll venture a guess that the metal is Brass- only a hunch. For its size, the weight is somewhat dense. There is a leather banding toward the top that is wearing. The Microscope stands approximately 1 1/2 inches high, by about 1 inch wide. The circular disc revolves. There is a manufactured small hole. This working Bausch& Lomb"Contintental" microscope was made in ca. 1897, so it is almost 120 years old. This microscope is a part of medical history. Microscope Body- Wonderful condition on the brass microscope body. It has a great patina though there are some blemishes and small defects. But all below the norm for a microscope of this age. It will probably look great once it is polished/cleaned, but I'll leave that determination to the new owner. Please look at all the pictures for exact condition of the body. All parts seem to move freely. I viewed an onion skin with#2 eyepiece and 2/3 ocular and it focused fine and edges of image were sharp ... moreand clear. But not working. No key. The door was at some point forced open, but all pieces appear to be there. Wood Case- Good condition. Appears to be original. Nice patina. Some blemish of some sort on the top and various scratches on the exterior(See pictures) Very nice vintage handle. Interior is fitted to the microscope. There is a top drawer with vintage scalpel. On the inside of the door are 8 custom holders containing 3 lens cases for the microscope lenses and one of the eyepieces. One of those holders is either missing or is meant to fix something else. You can see in the pictures a small crack on one of the back corners. 1& 2 Eyepieces and 2/3. 1/6& 1/12 lenses. The#1 eyepiece + 1/12 lens gives a 900x magnification. Vintage Antique 1800's Cast Iron CHEMISTRY GLASS BEAKER TUBE CLAMP Altered Art
Original antique late 1800's to early 1900's cast iron chemistry glass tube clamp holder in good condition. The clamp has some rust but it would clean up. The screw to tighten the mount turns freely and the two ends can be separated with no problems with the threads. The wing nut in center is frozen. The spring is weak but the screw can be pulled out and another spring put on. This model has a double nosepiece and original eyepiece. The optical system produces clear images and good contrast. Coarse focus is rack and pinion. Fine focus with micrometer knob. It moves up and down but gets a little hung up about half way. The original lacquered brass finish has tarnish and is in good overall vintage condition. This antique Bausch and Lomb microscope has a serial number that dates the instrument's manufacture to 1902. It features a single B&L signed Series 1 1/6 objective lens as well as its original signed eye piece. Interesting design does not feature turn knobs but rather a sliding tube for coarse adjustment. Antique Vintage Microscope Objective Brass Case - 1
You are bidding on an original microscope objective brass case. Sometimes called a can. From the photos you will see it is unmarked as to maker. It bears the numeral"1" on the top. This will make a wonderful conversation piece or an addition to a collection. The craftsmanship is from a bygone era. Seldom to be found in today's throwaway world. It has a finely threaded screw-on top which screws on and off perfectly. It measures 23.5 mm in diameter and 56.4mm in height. I am reducing my collection and selling other microscope objective containers and an additional objective. Feel free to look at my other listings. I am not an optics or microscope expert.
