Please read ALL of the text and view the pictures carefully. We will gladly answer any questions as best we can. Please ask questions before you bid or ... morebuy. Please scroll to the bottom of the pictures and read the terms under our last picture. I am far from an expert on these but will do my best to describe it for you. Questions encouraged.I do not see any cracked lenses and the mirror is not cracked on either side. All lenses are clear but one has a hair or something inside of it which I think you can see in the pictures. All of the knobs work smoothly. The paint is worn where you would place the slide and it looks rusty but it may be the base coat of paint as the finish is nice and smooth. It comes with the extra lenses as shown. I have taken close ups of any numbers or markings I could find. The numbers on the top of the microscope which I assume are the serial numbers are 241681. The black paint is scuffed on the bottom of the back of the base and it could use some polishing/cleaning in my opinion. The wooden finger jointed case is in nice shape with just a scuff on the one side and the original nickel handle remains on the top. The door has a lock but I do not have the key. From a local school. I believe this to be a Bausch& Lomb"Jug" microscope. Decent condition as you can see from the pics. The iris seen in the last two pics appears to work fine. Microscope only. No box or documentation. What you see is what you get. The drop in eyepiece appears to be a replacement and not the original. Still it works fine. Ships to lower 48 states only. thanks pat

Welcome to TIMEPATINA! No Reserve Auction Bausch& Lomb traces its roots to 1853. When John Jacob Bausch, a German immigrant, set up a tiny optical goods shop in Rochester, New York. When he needed more money to keep the business going, Bausch borrowed $60 from his good friend, Henry Lomb. Bausch promised that if the business grew, Lomb would be made a full partner. The business did grow and the partnership was formed. In the early years, Bausch + Lomb manufactured revolutionary rubber eyeglass frames as well as a variety of optical products that required a high degree of manufacturing precision. By 1903, the firm had been issued patents for microscopes, binoculars, and even a camera shutter based on the eye’s reaction to light. In the 1900’s, Bausch + Lomb continued to demonstrate its place at the forefront of technological innovation ... morefor optical products. Bausch& Lomb Opt Co antique clockwork motor possibly for a telescope or transit. 12 inches high. 7 inches across at widest. Very nice condition! I honestly don't know what this is for. It is running as is. Though may need a cleaning or lubrication to make it work properly. There are two key wound springs(no key included) that turn a motor very slowly. The motor is attached to a platform that has three adjustable clamps on it, one of which is slightly bent. There is a button that turns it on and off. It says"Bauch& Lomb Opt Co, Rochester NY USA No 94390. I've tried to look it up to no avail. It may be astronomy related to put on a telescope to track the sky. Perhaps it is photography related to keep a camera trained on the sky? The base has three feet and there are two adjustable positioning knobs it looks like to secure ... moreto a rod. It is heavy and very well built and the brass motor is just beautiful.too bad it is inside where no one can see it! If you know what it is.please bid or at least tell me. Also ask any questions, I'm more than happy to try to answer them. Steampunk might come up with something interesting for this too.

WINNING BIDDER MUST REMIT PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS OF CLOSE OF AUCTION. Hello and Welcome to my Auction. Please have a look at my pictures and if you need some other angle please email me– I am a collector. Too, so I know how important it is for you to have enough information to make up your mind before bidding. Up for auction is a very interesting old piece. This is an antique Bausch& Lomb field dissecting microscope w/a storage area. I understand they call this the Barnes style. It measures 10” long by about 3 ¾” tall and is wooden. It has a mirror and the scope holder. But no eyepiece. It opens up, as is shown in the pictures, so that you can store slides and lenses, etc. It ... morestill retains some of the tissue paper to protect the supplies and has a nice latch to close it. Hinges work well. Pictures tell the story but in nice condition overall, some imperfections in the mirror, as happens over time. The Bausch and Lomb identifying metal plate is on the front which states“Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Rochester NY, New York City, Chicago. The wood is in very nice shape…great piece for display and very collectible. I believe this dates to the early part of the 20th century. Be sure to ask all questions before bidding as this is a final sale. Winning bidder shall pay $12 shipping in USA– if shipping turns out to be materially less. I will refund the difference via Paypal. Unless I can get to the post office during the week, all shipping will be done on the Saturday following auction close. Also please don’t forget to check my other auction for an old drive in movie theater speaker. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
