The scale is in ... moregreat unrestored condition. The glass is original without any chips or cracks. It is made of cast iron with no damage or repairs to the metal, however I think it is missing a cap that would have once covered a screw under the weighing scoop. It has its original removable scoop with no holes, but several oxidation marks. The shield on the front of the scale is marked NATIONAL STORE SPECIALITY CO. LANCASTER PA. The scale works perfectly and weighs up to 2 pounds. It also has a chart for calculating cost on items from 10 cents to 60 cents a pound. It measures(not counting the tray) about 10 1/2" in height by 10 1/2" in width by about 4" in depth. The tray measures 10" by 5 1/2" by 3" in height. I have done some research and this particular scale is quite hard to find, regardless of the condition. An excellent addition to any vintage scale or antique collection, or if you just want to own a really neat old candy scale.

I have for auction a star barber chair that belonged to my grandfather before he passed away. Apparently it is a koken star from the ones that I have seen and they seem to be extremely rare also. The seat will need to be reupholstered and the hydros do work they are just low on fluid also there is two cracks on the bottom side of the seat as you can see in the photo. This is a beautiful antique chair that has been in a non smoking home for the past 15 years. It has been rechromed and new leather added. I recovered over the original leather because I wanted to keep everything as original as possible. I also have the barber stool and harness and original paper holder with purchase of chair. Mint green is the color of the porcelain piece from a 1920's Koken chair. please not that the part is broken where the adjustment arm ties in. this should be pretty easy to repair and would be invisible as it does not contact the porcelain. I believe this is the calf rest from 1920's Koken Barber chair. show wear but solid condition padding is in good condition. Part number on bottom is. Late 1800's Antique Victorian Koken Wooden Barber Chair - Fancy - See Detail
Barber Shop Collectors better see this one. The age would be 1800's to have the detail on this antique Koken barber chair. I purchased this chair at an auction in Timewell IL 20 years ago. The Oak wood has burl detail with carved drops. I stripped the wood years ago and did not get any farther on it's restoration. I am Out of the Mood for sure now so you can do it. I am not that knowledgeable about how these chairs operate. I can see that the bottom wrought iron foot plate has be broken and repaired. Not a professional repair.
