Set of 2 Antique/Vintage Catholic Religious Lapel Pins
The first pin was given as a remembrance of a child’s First Communion. It is sort of like a marquis shape. It is in gold tones. Possibly gold plated, with gold, white and red enamel which pictures the Sacred Heart of Jesus with crucifix. The back of this pin is plain. It has a simple C clasp which extends beyond the clasp just a little bit. It is in previously owned, but good condition. It is from about 1955. It was once attached to a card with a prayer on it celebrating First Communion. Measurements: 10 mm wide 15 mm tall 1.4 grams in weight The second pin is silver(unmarked but tests) and gold depicting Mary. Mother of God on the front and Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the back, both in 3D relief. The front shows Mary, Mother of God in silver surrounded by a gold oval cartouche with a floral design border. The back shows Jesus ... moredisplaying his Sacred Heart in a silver cartouche with a floral design border. The pin is a simple C clasp and extends beyond the clasp just a little bit. This pin is much older and was brought to this country from Italy sometime around 1927. The workmanship is spectacular. Measurements: 11 mm wide 16 mm tall 1.8 grams in weight Both pins have been cleaned but not polished. They would make a great remembrance for someone making their First Communion or Confirmation or for their Sponsor. Vintage items may show the transit of time. But that’s their allure.
