OLD St Christopher Protect Us FEAST JULY 25 Winged Pin Patron Saint of Travelers
Here is a vintage 2 pronged pin of St. Christopher carrying the Christ child across a river. It is made of metal(gilt brass? and measures across its wingspan approx. 2 1/4" and its prongs measure 1 3/8" long. Roman Martyrology remembers St. Christopher with a feast day on July 25th. But as of 1970 his commemoration in all masses was dropped as part of the general reorganization of the calendar of the Roman rite, although his feast day is still observed locally. There is some surface wear but overall it is in good shape. Thanks for looking at this auction!
