I am not sure what this bracelet is made out of. The little research that I have done tells me it is Bakelite. I was given jewelry that had been stored for 20+ years. A box of vintage. Signed, unsigned, watches, beads, crystals, pearls, gold, silver, broken and tangled jewelry that I had to untangle, separate and clean. I would date this piece of vintage jewelry to the 1940s. Made of metal and thin plastic rings with three interspersed plastic charms of fruit- two bunches of bananas and one strawberry. I have no idea what kind of plastic they are made though there is a seam along the sides of each of the fruit charms. The piece is missing a number of the charms. Hook clasp works. Every charm is marked with the Beta Sigma Phi logo on the front and sterling on the back. There is one enameled sterling charm that is a convention charm Ft Lauderdale 1967. One of the stars has 3 little stars on the front. Most of the charms are marked on the back. Besides the sterling mark. One is etched 1959 Founders year, heart fund, convention, 1962 perfect attendance, membership chairman, exemplar, cancer drive, girl of year, live with wings. There is logos on some of them, a feather, ... morea hammer, a key, 2 hands shaking and a couple that I dont know what they are. There is also dates 1959, 1960, 1961, 1963, 1964 and 1966. The bracelet is very heavy weighing 37.6 grams or 1.31 oz. It measures 6 3/4 inches long. It measures 7/8 inches wide, just under 1 inch. All the stars measure a tad over 1/2 inch by a tad under 3/4 inches. The hearts measure a tad over 1/2 inch by a tad under 3/8 inches. The bracelet is in great condition with no damage. Vintage Chunky Bracelet w Unique Bakelite, Filigree, other charms. Napier?
Beautiful vintage silver charm bracelet. Chunky with large charms. Some of which have filigree. The red charms appear to be bakelite. Also, there appears to be a charm missing to the left of the blue charm, as shown in the first picture. I could find no mark on the clasp, but this appears to be very similar to the chunky bracelets designed by Napier years ago. Perhaps the clasp was replaced– but I’m not an expert.
