Vintage AMCO WWII Era "Sweetheart" 11 Army Charms Bracelet Sterling/GF/Enamel
Up for auction is a wonderful authentic Vintage WWII Sweetheart Bracelet. These bracelets were sold(usually at the BX/PX-base exchanges/post exchanges) for soldiers/servicemen to give to their girlfriends/wives. This particular bracelet is in excellent vintage condition and features 11 charms most of which are insignias for branches of the Army. The charms that I have identified appear to be Army Coast Artillery(crossed cannons with an oval over them with a projectile-the oval is enamel) Army Air Corps Pilot Wings with propeller, Medical Corps(the Caduceus insignia of wings, staff, snake) Cavalry Insignia(crossed swords) Corp of Engineers(Castle) Ordinance Corps(shell/cannon& flame) Signal Corps(crossed flags with torch between, the flags are enameled) the Quartermaster Corps(eagle over a wheel with a sword and key over the wheel) Also ... moreon the bracelet is an"Army" charm of a mule with an blanket with the word"Army" which is in enamel. This is probably representative if the Army mule mascot. There is also a lovely charm representing the shield of the United States which features an eagle holding a feather in one talon, arrows in another, with a plaque over the eagle. There is also a charm featuring a quite detailed tank. I believe this probably represents the Armor Corps, who have since changed their insignia. Actually, the Army Coast Artillery Corp is obsolete, which helps date this bracelet to definitely before 1950(when the Coast Artillery insignia was made obsolete) The castle, tank, Caduceus, signal flags are all marked"Sterling" as well as"1/20 10K" the rest of the charms are marked"1/20 10K GF" making them gold filled. Vintage Expansion Bracelet with Many Lucite Charms and Dangles
This fabulous 60's"cha cha" bracelet is an expansion style with a gold tone metal bracelet from which are dangling all kinds of great Lucite charms and beads. The inside diameter of the bangle is 2" at rest but. As mentioned, it is expandable so it opens up to fit a small to slightly larger wrist easily. The metal is a bit over 1/2" in width although it looks wider due to all the dangles. There are semi-translucent black beads of various shapes and sizes, various sizes of"prism" style Lucite beads, little gold tone metal charms that look like gourds, smaller round gold tone metal beads and some shiny gold tone metal puffy hearts. These pieces are capped with gold tone metal findings as well. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or damage at all.
