It is a pull down/wall mount classroom Map that measures 49" x 65" The mounting frame is 68" in length and 1 3/4" wide. It is in"new old stock" condition. There is a seam that runs the entire length on the bottom of the wood rod pull down that is slightly separated. One of the pictures shows this. This is an older Denoyer GEPPERT classroom map that is in good to very good condition. One of several South America maps the others are Wenschow the size is a bit unusual most are either the slall canvas prints or the very large this is in the only one I have this size 43" wide 60" long' no hardware to automatically roll up just the two wood dowels I have around 5 or 6 South American maps left. No 2 are the same however eBays double listing policy makes listing them a waist of time. If the automatic software used thinks its a double listing it simply limits the visibility. A very frustrating policy I have not been able to resolve. No 2 maps are the same. I have to use the key words in order for people to find the maps. Using the same key words also flags many of my listings. Vintage Industrial Pull Down Wall Steel Map Rack Display Holder School Storage
This rack came to us with some maps that we recently bought at a school auction. The"C" cross section steel frames of most pull-down maps will slide over the tabs on this rack so multiple maps can be secured to the wall and moved if necessary. The rack measures 42" W x 26" T x 1.5" D and there are 10 tabs for maps. The tabs measure about 1 1/4" wide and 1/4" tall. The map has a few splotches of paint from overzealous room painters and it may be missing some parts- there is no clear built-in way for mounting the map to the wall. There are two tabs at either end attached with wing nuts which seem to be part of an incomplete attachment system. The rack could be mounted to the wall easily enough with some sort of creative fix. There are rubber bumpers on the back along the bottom to protect the wall from scratching. ... moreBulbs are not included unless specified. This is a Markable Kleenable Map. Model Number: C465 New/Used: Used. Approximate Dimensions in Inches- Map portion is 50 ½” wide by 47” high. The wooden pull down stick is 54 ½” long. The metal hanging bracket is 55” long. Condition: Good overall. There are some tears on the edges mostly near the bottom of the border on both sides. Overall the map’s colors are good with some soiling and marks. There is one spot near the words“Land Elevation” where the facing is missing but the backing is intact. Please see the pictures of this condition. The word“Levinson” is written inside the metal hanging bracket. There might be other minor imperfections ... moreconsistent with use and age. This is one of 2 listed but this one has no dowels Its big about 7' wide and 5 1/2' long. Lots of color detailed showing the Legends for Land sea and population(see Pictures) The map is in good to very good condition and will transform any room you hang it. Please keep in mind its almost a half century old and is not new. One customer asked me if a map had been in a smoke free home! Its a School Map how the heck do I know. All I could say is its been in dry storage for 30 years. Some of the maps have been repaired over the years and may have tape. How to Repair Old School maps The round dowel is cut in half by the manufacturer and the new map is simply glued or stapled to one halve and then screwed to the other. Its basically sandwiched between the two halves. They made them this way so the schools could do there on repairs. They ... moreprinted the maps on canvas with several inches below and above the map.This was done so the school could do the repair work. Most schools could not afford to buy another one or send it to the manufacturer for a tear to be fixed when it would tear they unscrewed it. Cut the section that had the tear and put it back together. Please keep this in mind the older maps that have been rolled up and stored. They need to hang for several days lay flat. Should your map not straighten out simply remove the screws reset the map.Trim it if necessary and screw it back At some point you may tear it and need to repair it. Now you know how.

Vintage map of Europe. This is an old canvas pull down map. It came from an old school building that was demolished around the mid 1980s. The map was old when it was recovered from the school building. I am unsure of the print date of the map. At the bottom of the map it says"Copyright. The George F. Cram Co. Inc. Indianapolis 7, Indiana-printed in the USA. This map has some minor blemishes and imperfections, as to be expected with it's age, but it is in good condition over all. It still has the roller with the spring still intact. It will still roll up and down if you mount it with the correct hardware. The map measures approximately 51 inches wide and 54 inches tall.
