The maps had metal ... morepins at each end. One end goes into holes drilled in the end of this frame. The other end goes in slots in a metal holder that is in the other end. The inside dimensions of this unit is approx 42" by 14 1/2." Thus the length of the maps including the pins that stick out each end is slighly longer than 42" so it would hold in the drilled holes. It is dusty, but looks solid. It has a chip at a corner (see photo). Otherwise looks good. I will disassemble it for shipping. USA lower 48 buyer to pay $30 s/h.

Vintage Denoyer-Geppert Classroom Pull-Down Wall Map French The Greek World
This vintage Denoyer-Geppert classroom wall map has great beachy colors and a bold graphic look. And just to make it even more wonderful, it's written in French. I couldn't find another example online in a Google search, and I don't know how old it is. The map depicts the Greek world of ancient times, and is in good vintage condition, with creases, wear, a few small tears, and minor soiling and discoloration. Please use the zoom feature and view all the photos to see the condition in greater detail. The map(including the wooden rollers) measures approximately 40&3/4" by 53&1/2 inches. As shown. Antique Vintage Cram's Physical-Political Asia Large Pull Down Map - Markable
Here is an Antique Vintage Cram's Physical-Political Large Pull Down Map of Asia. These were used in schools and this one appears to have been produced in 1964. These are Markable-Kleenable. You can mark on them and then simply rub off the markings. The map itself measures approximately 50 5/8" wide and 57 1/2" long when extended down. The total width of the map in its holder is 55 1/4" wide and these holders work like a pull down window shade. These are made with some kind of canvas on the back and are heavy duty. This rolls up, sometimes it takes a couple of pulls just like a window shade but I seem to remember these being like this even when they were new. This is in good clean used condition, some of white area does have some light yellowing but now bad. Vibrant Pull Down Map of the Boroughs of New York City. Map indicates major thoroughfares. Colleges, universities, public buildings, airports and parks. Map is not dated. But I believe this to be from the late 1950's to early 1960's. The map is identified with permanent marker on the wood end and exterior of the mounting fabric. Wood end dowel is split. There are a couple areas of puckering(see photos) But overall the map is in good condition. Colors are brilliant. Please see photos for condition. Vintage schoolroom. Pull down map of Europe! 1938 Edition and design is by Denoyer-Geppert Co. of Chicago. It is in good vintage condition. There is some yellowing that has occurred. But I think it adds to the vintage look and most of it is on the back. The map still has such great vibrant colors. The roll down mechanism works perfectly. There is some fraying on the edges as shown. It is not much and does not go near the map, just the edges. Map has a canvas feel. Not sure of the exact material. Vintage Nystrom Classroom Pull Down Map This interesting map has two sections. The first section shows Europe at the outbreak of World War II. It illustrates annexations of Europe by Hitler and Mussolini to Sept. 1. 1939 The second section shows Europe in 1953. Illustrating the Atlantic Pact Countries and"Iron Curtain" countries, along with occupation zones of Germany and Austria. Full printed color lithography. This amazing map is 48 inches wide x 74 inches tall. Bracket increases width to 54" wide. Scale is 84 miles to the inch. There is some moisture damage on the bottom. Mostly visible on the reverse. This large 51" X 50 reference map of Early Land Grants of the 13 Colonies was produced by the George F Cram company during the 1950s/60s for social science college setting. This map has been in AC storage since the 1970s and has super vibrant color. This map as with the others I have for sale offer a subject matter not typically seen for sale. The map is complete with spring loaded wood roller. Wood pull, metal bracket and is fully linen backed.
