Indianapolis 7, Indiana-printed in the USA. This map has some minor blemishes and imperfections, as to be expected with it's age, but it is in good condition over all. Here's a large pull down map of AFRICA by Nystrom in good condition. The actual map printed area is roughly 50" wide by 74" tall. This map has two layers the top layer has names and borders on a semi-transparent vellum material. There is some traces of some kind of adhesive residue at the very bottom of the map just above the wooden rod. Nothing major but worth noting. Comes attached to metal mounting bracket. This vintage map is titled"UNIVERSAL SERIES MAP OF UNITED STATES" and measures 40" wide x 48" high. The bottom edge reads"Rand McNally& Co.s Map of Canada, United States and Mexico. Globe Series. Copyright, 1908, by Rand McNally& Co. Copyright 1894 by Rand, McNally& Co. Insert maps in the lower left corner include the Philippine Islands, Alaska, Hawaii and Porto Rico. Belize is depicted as British Honduras and the Canadian province of Manitoba is much smaller than its present size. This 105-year old map is in good condition for its age and type of use. This vintage map is titled"UNIVERSAL SERIES MAP OF ASIA" and measures 40" wide x 45" high. The bottom margin of the map with the copyright date was cropped. But the Western Hemisphere map in the same series, which I have also listed, reads"Rand McNally& Co.s Map of the Western Hemisphere. Globe Series. Copyright 1894, by Rand McNally& Co. Korea, etc. This 105-year old map is in good condition for its age and type of use. There are some horizontal creases which resulted from the map being rolled. The top has several vertical creases, some with paper loss and a 2" tear in the extreme upper left corner(see Photos 7, 8& 9) Vertical creases at the bottom include one of 15" across the Bay of Bengal and some areas of paper loss along the edge(see Photos 2& 3) The map margins have edge wear, stains, tears and fraying. 1920 Bacon's Excelsior Cloth Pull-Down Scroll Map of Asia
This is a circa 1920 Bacon's Excelsior Cloth Pull-Down Scroll Map of Asia. It has no major flaws but does have flaws that one would expect from such an old piece. The cloth underbacking has some minor fraying. The paper is coming off the canvas in certain areas most notably in the Bay of Bengal between India and Siam. A water spot in the upper right corner. I have taken close-up pictures of every inch of the map so all bidders can see its condition. It has beautiful colors and measures about 40 inches by 29 inches. Bid with confidence. Awesome vintage schoolhouse find! This Rand McNally map has 2 pull downs: Transplanting of Europe and Westward Ho. Both are in great condition with a small tear on the outside canvas(see photos) And some ink marks on sticks. Measures 54" from outside of frame. Great for hanging behind a desk or sofa, or could still be used in a classroom setting. Dry erase markers work nicely and erase easily if you want to write on them. Denoyer Geppert Pull Down Map of Alexanders Empire & Ancient Rome
I estimate this to be 1930's but not sure and don't see a date on the map by Denoyer-Geppert Social Science. The overall size is 69" long x 47" wide with the map drawn out. The top three maps depict: 1. Rise of Macedonia 2. Kingdoms of Diadochi 3 Greek Leagues Middle Map 1 Alexanders Empire Bottom Map 1. Athens 480 B.C. Post Alexander Condition is decent considering this is used and from the probably the 1930's era but i couldn't find a print date so cant be sure and only estimating from others similar I've seen. The rollers still work and hold the map down and the frame is still useable for wall hanging.

DENOYER GEPPERT 1916 ANTIQUE EUROPEAN HISTORY PULL DOWN SCHOOL MAP
This is one of many old school maps I have in cases that came from a demolished school in Prairie City Illinois. I bought them over 35 years ago. They've been in my attic since then. They are copywrited 1916 and say 5th edition 1923. They are pull down maps with an oak hanger that holds the rewinding roll. The back of the oak hanger has 2 flip up metal tabs with holes for screws that I use to hang them. Each map measures 44" wide and 30" tall. 2 maps on each roll as shown. This map(H23) Is EUROPE 100 years ago(1914)The other(H27) is EUROPE after the great war in 1920. Almost 6 feet tall. VIVID color. Pull-down rod is gone but I have one I'll send with it. Very educational maps. The wooden rod on the bottom has the pull down ring. These have heavy canvas material on the backs. There's a little wear on the outer edge from ... moreage but overall great condition and color. These would make 2 great framed maps. Good luck.

This map is a great size for the average home. Lots of detail with great contrasting colors. The big tear at the bottom can be taped but I recommend separating the wood dowel and trimming it off. The map was made to fit into a automatic hanging device which it does not have. Not a problem if your going to hang it. The reason the brown area is so large is Thats the part of the map that was pulled down. The top dowel is spring loaded and was mounted in the hanging bracket so the map rolled up when pulled. the way to hang it is simply by attaching an eye bolt at the top right above the title. Easy to do. There are areas that need a little mending with tape frayed canvas edges some light stains but still a very good map for hanging not for windows and such. The size is 65" x 75"

Here's a pull down map of ancient Greece by Denoyer Geppert Co. Note that t his map is missing the standard dowel rod at the bottom of the map which normally would have a ring/pull string attached. I suppose it could be repaired or removed from it's roll and mounted as a very nice flat wall map. The actual printed area is roughly 46" wide by 30" tall. The map itself is a bit dirty here and there but not bad for a school map of it's age. This map is dated 1961 and is the canvas backed paper type of roll map. This is a collector map by AJ NYSTROM& Co. Printed on canvas about 1943. It shows more wear than the 60's maps. Has been repaired many times as you can see the yellowing of tape at the top. Still needs a little minding with tape I a few areas the edges of canvas have usual amount of fraying but don't let that scare you it's still got a lot of life remaining. I don't recommend rolling it up every day or using as a window blind however. Hung on the wall and most of the flaws will not be seen well maybe a few. The size is 50" wide and 35" long

This is a vintage 1980s/90s classroom pull down map of Africa made by Nystrom. It measures 77" x 54" with metal brackets) and is made of plasticized paper. The overlay map is secured at the bottom by a metal strip and the map of Africa is secured with a wooden dowel. It is brightly colored and in good condition with minor vintage wear(the overlay has two small light creases in the lower left hand corner and the map spring won't allow the map to be rolled up all the way-it leaves about 5 inches exposed) Great as an instructional tool.
