This early road map is thorough for detail for the countryside, but also includes the most recent information for motoring and cycling roads. Throughout the map we see roads color-coded for quality and use. Unlike some editions that were printed on paper attached to a cloth backing. Lot of 3 AMERICAN RED CROSS MAP OF PARIS, LONDON WWIIUSED
This auction is for a lot of three vintage WWII maps from the Red Cross. Designed to help service men and women get around Paris and London. There are two Paris maps, both used but not in too bad shape. They have been folded up for about 60+ years. They are both about 14x21" The back sides of the maps are of Mirueña, Spain from 1941 and Wexford, England(no date) but printed in German. I wonder if the Red Cross was using old maps to save paper. The London map is smaller 11x19, and has black/white photos on the backside of service and Red Cross and officers clubs in London. It is in a bit more fragile condition. The maps came from my Uncle's estate and he was stationed in Europe during WWII. The only date I can find is on the backside with the Spanish map.
