The Mississippi Valley, Caribbean, and Mexico. It was made to illustrate the gold routes of the Spanish during their plunder of the Inca and Aztec Empires. The large vignette in the Atlantic portion of the map depicts a large gold mine operation with the natives filling a chest for the Europeans with the riches of their land. Inn the bottom left of the map is a fierce battle scene between many ships. The political divisions of North America are well defined for the period as they reflect the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713 and French expansion into Louisiana the following 10 years. All of the Florida Keys, all of the Bahama Islands, all of Cuba, Greater Antilles, all of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, Jamaica, western part of Puerto Rico, and the Cayman Islands. Chart is in very good condition. It has been used and has light smudges on it throughout. Several navigational notations that were marked on it in pencil were at some point erased. West Indies, Central America, South America and what is today the southeastern United States, by italian Cartographer Giovanni Antonio Rizzi Zannoni, with a huge cartouche and attractive hand coloring. The map measures 14.75 x 20" overall with a nice, wide margin, making this map perfect for framing. This map is also in fantastic condition, with no tears or holes.
