This map was designed and printed by the Hagstrom Map Company of New York. Maps like this one were mounted inside each subway car. However. This one was never actually mounted. It was an extra that was stored in a dry place. This map is 23 inches wide and 28 inches long. The paper is thick. But not quite card stock. This map has some interesting transit points that no longer exist. Court Street station in Brooklyn is still on the map. As are Ebbets Field, home of the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Polo Grounds, the Brooklyn Lexington Avenue elevated and the 3rd Avenue elevated. It also mentions transfer points to trolley service. Native American Art Original Gil McCue 1968 Long Island Brooklyn Montauk Map old
Hard to describe but this is a map drawn by Gil McCue. Does not look like something that was mass produced. Looks like art because of the woman in corn field on top left corner and the hatchet cross on lower right corner and old sailing ship on lower middle. Has all tribes in the region listed like the Canarsie. Merrick, Secatoag, Seatauket, Montauk, Hackinsack among others. Also noted are the Wappinger confederacy, Mahican/Mohegan confederacy and the Abenahi confederacy. Please note that I am not a Native American or art expert and I don't know the actual status of image as far as what it would be considered. The bottom right has the artist name as Gil McCue with a reference to the Smithtown library in Long Island, NY dated'68. Size is 14 x 11. No returns ask b4 bidding. Thanks.

Original 1873 Map CITY OF BROOKLYN New York Greenpoint Williamsburg Flatbush Original antique lithographed map of the city of Brooklyn. Printed more than 140 years ago. The map shows Brooklyn as an independent city. 25 years before it was consolidated with the other boroughs to form the modern"City of New York. The map is hand colored by ward. And when it was printed Brooklyn included the neighborhoods of Bushwick, Bedford, Greenpoint, and Williamsburg. Other named places and features include Prospect Park, Greenwood Cemetery, Wallabout Bay, the U.S. Navy Yard, the Brooklyn City Hall, Tompkins Square, Buttermilk Channel, and Gowanus Bay. The map also shows railroad and streetcar lines. As well as ferry crossings on the East River. There are hundreds of street names, and a decorative swash title, with distance scale. The map also includes ... moreparts of Flatbush and New Utrecht. Which did not become part of Brooklyn until 1894, and it labels the Coney Island Plank Road, Lunatic Asylum, Alms House, Halls Driving Park, Kings County Parade Ground, and Fort Hamilton Avenue. The scans below give a closer look: This map was published in the Atlas of Long Island. New York. By Beers, Comstock& Cline, New York, 1873. The image area measures 15-1/4" x 23-3/4" Condition: This map is in very good condition. With some faint toning at the edges and no marks. Rips, or tears. The paper has softened a bit, and there is a vertical fold at the center, as issued. On the reverse side there are four detailed maps of the town of Flatbush. Labeling property owners and including the east section of Flatbush Village, Windsor Terrace, and Parkville: This is an original. Authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint. And it is fully guaranteed to be genuine.
