A few i tems have very mi n or or pin si z e dents. It is very rare to find a complete large set with no items missing- no replacement pieces a nd all original. All items are fully hallmarked Birmingham 1908 with the maker The nail buffer is the only item with a Chester hallmark 1909 with the same maker George Unite. It is part of the set only assaye d at the Chester office. There are 12 item s altogether- it is very rare to see both pairs of scissors! The small lidded pots are in excellent condition with no damage the pen knife is sharp and all p ieces are in excellent and working condition. BEAUTIFUL MILK GLASS ANGEL CHERUB HEAD 9" PLATE IN MINT CONDITION! This is a very old. Antique, white milk glass plate with angel cherub head designs with pierced areas. The plate itself is free of chips and cracks. The gold leaf and the hand painted rose have slight age disintegration. The plate is inscribed From Toronto 1906, so I would have to say for its age it is magnificant. As with any old milk glass there are marks and lines in the glass, these are part of the manufacturing process, mold marks. There is no makers mark, I am assuming very old Westmoreland Glass. ANTIQUE METAL WASHBURNE BULL-DOG GRIP SLEEVE CLIPS 1896 Up for auction is a pair of very intriguing WASHBURNE SLEEVE CLIPS. I had no idea what the purpose of these was until doing some research. These fasteners are WASHBURNE"Bull-Dog Grip" cuff holders invented by James V. Washburne of Morrison. Illinois. Washburne was a prolific inventor of clips, clasps and fasteners for clothing, key chains and paper. These were all marketed as"Washburne Fasteners. The cuff holder was meant to hold a loose shirt cuff tight. With one end of the clip holding the top of the cuff in place and the other end attached to the sleeve-opening above the cuff. These were not specifically made to cheat on cards, but apparently you can hide an"ace up your sleeve" using one end of the clip. Very beautiful. Large, antique Chinese bowl. Dating to the 18th Century, this gorgeous porcelain bowl features blue lotus flowers, leaves and vines on a white background. The bowl has a very heavily cracked glaze finish. There are two wide patterned bands of bronze glaze which is quite striking against the blue and white porcelain. The bowl also has a beautiful wood(teak? stand with traditional Chinese curved legs. The stand is a very dark brown to black color. The bowl is signed via hand stamped on the bottom in a deep relief. Both the bowl and the stand are in very good antique condition. There is aging(yellowing) to the porcelain in some areas. But it does not distract from the timeless beauty of this wonderful bowl.
