The globe has twelve printed gores with countries. States and oceans in varying shades of tan, green, yellow and brown. The globe shows shipping routes and submarine cables. It is mounted with a metal latitude ring and surmounted by a small rotating hour ring. On the globe there is a maker's cartouche stating‘16 inch library globe by Republic Globes Inc. Chicago’ and an analemma(a curve representing the changing angular offset of the Sun) in the Pacific ocean. It is mounted on a turned and carved mahogany stand with reeded legs and cast brass paw feet. ~ Dimensions ~ The height of globe and stand is 39 inches(99cm) The globe is 16 inches(40.5cm) ... morein diameter. ~ Condition ~ There are some areas of wear to the globes printed surface and a split along the equator line- please refer to photographs- with a shard missing there. The join between the legs and globe is somewhat loose and therefore the globe is a bit wobbly. The stand is in good condition but with some wear and varnish loss and a drying split. There are a couple very tiny scratches in the paint on the front, some scratches on the back from normal wear, and a small dent on the back. On Santa's leg you can see a tiny indentation from the dent on the back, but it's hard to see unless you are looking for it. At the bottom of the picture it says: 1926 SEPS: The Curtis Publishing Co. Listed is an unmarked Globe Front Sight for Winchester. Maynard, early Remington, Steven’s and other rifles using a 5/16” dovetail for mounting to the barrel. The sight base is ¾ inch wide. The length of the sight tube is also ¾ inches, inside tube diameter is 3/8 inches. The sight bead is about ¼ inch above the sight base. Screw driver slot in base bottom to accommodate changing sight beads although there are no extra sight beads. The sight shows some very light pitting but otherwise in excellent condition. Vintage Weber Costello 16" Political - Physical Globe
This is a vintage Weber Costello political- physical globe in a wooden structure. It is marked Weber Costello Co. Political Reality Physical Edith Putnam Parker editor.There is a legend on the side of the globe as shown in the photo. There is a piece of the globe picture missing from the top as shown in the picture. The state of WI is also rubbed off. The globe has French West Africa. The Belgian Congo and the French Equatorial Africa on it. So it is quite dated. The wooden holder measures about 10 inches high and about 1 1/8 inches wide. The wooden frame has time zones, miles, and degrees marked on it. The frame has two cracks in in which need to be glued. This globe would be a nice addition to your collection or decor. Vintage Schoolhouse Light Globe White Milk Glass Shade Art Deco Large 16" wide
This is for a great vintage milk glass schoolhouse style light shade. Overall width is 16" The fitter opening is 5 7/8(called 6" It is approx 10 1/2" tall. The fitter opening is quite rough. Which seems to be normal for vintage or older light globes. Please look at the pictures. There are some dark marks around the fitter but they should not show when the globe is up. There are a few flea bites but overall this is a great piece. No chips or cracks. This is a large piece weighs over 4 pounds. Vintage Replogle 16" Floor World Globe on Casters ~ Brandt Furniture Maryland
Beautiful globe and stand. Wood stand is made by Brandt Furniture of Maryland and is stamped Antique Cherry on the bottom. Brandt nameplate is placed on the underside of the stand. Not sure of the year but Brandt went out of business in 1985. Date could be anywhere from 1950-1970 by the design and hardware. Globe rotates 360 degrees in both directions. This globe is not illuminated. Globe sits in a metal bracket. Caster are in great. Clean condition. I cannot see any flaws in the stand or the globe. I will be happy to ship and make sure the item is wrapped securely. Measures 23" in diameter and is 33" high, with hardware include in the measurements. Vtg 1985 Replogle 16" Diameter World Classic Series Floor Standing Globe Earth
Nice 16" Replogle Classic globe wood stand with bronze colored metal base. It is bright and not faded. There is one crease on the globe as shown in the last photo below. The globe is a 1985 model as Burkina was named in 1984 and Ivory Coast was renamed in 1986. I will need to take it apart for shipping, just a screw on the top and a wingnut on the bottom. The bottom bolt is a bit stripped so you'll need a pair of pliers to turn it on but once tight holds sturdily. Please see photos and contact me with any questions.Mark
