And a brass slide to secure the glass candle cover, so it won't fall off if the ship sways. Another fixed brass ring holds the bottom of the glass over the candle and then there is the weighted base. It is a sturdy lamp light and it looks GREAT! I could not find a makers mark on it, but then again, my eyes are not so good anymore. maybe you can find one. Piper Railway Co Toronto I am selling this lantern for an estate of a gentleman that found this lantern in the 1950's when diving in the Great Lakes- Straits of Mackinac. The heavy red glass does have a crack towards the bottom(see picture) There is also a hole in the base(see picture) I don't know if it's suppose to be there or it happen at the time it went down as a shipwreck in the Straits. I believe this to be a vintage ship/nautical/maritime oil lantern in good condition. Made of copper, brass and a amber/yellowish tinted globe shaped glass w/ no cracks or chips. The lantern measures 11"H x 7.5"W and has a small removable oil lantern that enters the lantern through a small hole in the base of the lantern. I left the metal the way I found this piece and only cleaned up the glass globe. I do not see any reason why this lantern would not function properly. I do not know how old this lantern is. I think that it is old enough to be considered vintage or possibly antique. The oval plate on the back of it reads. Wilcox, Crittenden& Co. Inc. Middletown, Conn. U.S.A. It appears to be brass. Most of the photos make the metal look redder than it actually is. The photos where the metal looks like it has a very slight greenish tint are closer to representing the actual color. I have provided a photo of the bottom being held up to a light to show how it might look when illuminated. Not including the ring at the top. It measures about 9 ½ inches high. The ring at the top adds about 1 3/4 inches. It weighs about 2 pounds 3.5 ounces. The divider is removable. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The burner is missing. Otherwise. It is generally in excellent condition. There is a ... morerelatively even tarnish and a little green oxidation on the back that you can see in a photo. I have provided a close-up of a bend in the edge of the hole for the burner. I do not know if it should be there or not. A close-up shows a small shallow depression just below the seam on the chimney. I do not know if it was made that way or not. Otherwise, are no dents in the metal or breaks or cracks in the glass. The inside and a little of the outside of the glass could use some cleaning. It looks like there is some soot on the inside of the top part. Otherwise, it is fine and as shown. This auction is for one vintage ship spot light. We bought this fixture from a local estate. It belonged to a man that served in the Navy as a dentist. This was part of a large lot of vintage dental equipment that we purchased. We were told that it was from one of the many military ships that he practiced on. The fixture does work. There is a separate bulb socket mounted on the plate that supports the round light diffuser that is not wired. But the bulb in the center of the diffuser works(see pictures) Cosmetically, there are scratches and plenty of wear. It was painted black at some point and that paint is flaking and there is surface rust present(see pictures) It has been in storage for quite a while and it needs to be cleaned. I am estimating that these probably date back to Late World War I or Early World War II and may well have been used on military vessels and/or Merchant marine vessels. They are Electric and have Rotating Shutters both on the body and in the bottoms of the lamps. In this way, the light could be closed off both from the sides and the bottoms as need be.kind of an early manual rheostat. These both Measure 8" Tall to the top of the Threaded, Screw-in Lid. The lid, itself measures 3 3/4" Diameter and has a 1 1/2" tall Wire Pass-through apparatus. To the top of the extended handle measures 12" The Base of the lantern measures 5 1/2" Diameter. Vintage Nippon Sento Lantern Marine Ship Nauticle Japan
This auction is for a Vintage Nippon Sento Lantern. In very nice original condition. I see no damage or dents to any of the brass body. The winner can leave the patina look or polish it to a high luster brass binish. There is no damage to any of the glass. There is a thick outer clear glass. Thick red filter glass and a thin hurricane glass over the wick. The only problem I can see is the clear outer globe has hard water build up and should be cleaned and polished. Also the vent adjusting knob is stuck. Maybe needs WD40. This lantern still has a wick in it. I think it just needs fuel to work. Vintage Copper and Brass Hanging Cargo Pendent Light - BIG SHIP SALVAGE

We recovered this light and soda blasted all the old paint off followed by a hand polishing job! We have custom made the brass pipe and ceiling mounting plate to allow for easy installation on your project. The ceiling mounting plate is 5 3/4 inches wide with four screw holes. Each light has a total height of about 32 inches. The mounting pipe is about 12 inches long and the copper and brass housing is about 20 inches tall. We have installed new glass in the wide end of the light. The glass is 13 1/2 inches wide with the total wide end frame measuring more like 15 inches wide. We have installed a new bulb holder and wiring in the light that is UL-Listed. The bulb holder takes a normal ... morescrew in house bulb of 150 watts or less. Wired to work with any voltage under 250 volts. Despite the large size of these lights. It has a total weight of less than 25 pounds! This is a No Reserve auction for RARE 1959 VINTAGE SANEI DENKI MARITIME SHIP’S PASSAGE LIGHT( The brass plate on it has the following info: PASSAGE LIGHT Type Y Wt 1.5 Dt 1959 SANEI DENKI CO LTD. I believe this is made of brass, and the bulb part is white ceramic. The bulb holder inside has the following info on it: SAN-EIJIS F8401 TE-26 230V 6A. It opens and closes smoothly, the hinges work well. This was left in a home I recently purchased and I think this is a passage light, although I am not sure. I am not sure of its working condition or it if its complete. There is a slight crack in the white ceramic part. Please see all pics. There also are 2 screws that it had with it, also included. The item appears to be fairly clean and well cared for. It measures approx 10” L, 6” W, and 4.5” H This would be great for decoration.
