Vintage Bronze Tung Woo Hong Kong EK1390 PORT Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical
Vintage Tung Woo PORT Lantern I recovered this Tung Woo port-side lantern from a sunken pipe barge while working off the coast of Borneo in the South China Sea in 1971. From it’s configuration it appears to have always been an electric lantern. I used it with a small battery light for a little evening ambiance on the deck table. So no heat damage from using it with candles. From the number of mounting holes(see last photo) it had a long service use history before I salvaged it. My guess is early post WWII. It has a heavy clear glass lens with an internal removable curved glass red filter. It’s got dents. Dimples and a wonky corner, decades of stains from living outside but no gouges or deep scratches. 14" Vintage BRASS MASTHEAD Ship's LANTERN Boat NAUTICAL Decor PIRATE Lamp
A brass"MASTHEAD" plaque surmounts the hood of this VINTAGE NAUTICAL LANTERN. It stands 14-1/2 inches tall. Not including handle. Features CURVED GLASS LENS and curved metal reflector plate, Sturdy brass mounting brackets on back- presumably for affixing to the mast of a sailing ship. Constructed of brass, glass, and brass plating over- judging from the tarnish- probably copper? This is most likely an older decorative reproduction. It's rendition is very faithful. And lantern is functional. The base unscrews to take a CANDLE- either one with a wide base, or a taper inserted into your own socket(no disrespect intended) OR. You could wire/electrify it rather easily. Lantern is in GOOD CONDITION. Nothing broken or missing. The drip rim of the base candle-holder area is bent. The lens measures 8-1/2" tall with a 9-1/2" diameter. The upper and lower sections of the lens are a smaller size. So the lens will fit into a holder with an 8-1/2" diameter. The lens was made by the now defunct Durkee Marine Products Company of Staten Island, New York. The company went out of business in 1920, so this item was made no later than that date. It weighs a little over 12 pounds. I'm not sure if it's copper or brass. It's also very LARGE. It measures about 13 1/2" tall, 13 3/4" wide and is approximately 9 1/2" deep from each corner to the back. It was a originally a kerosene or oil ship's lantern. It's an amazing light! It's in excellent working condition, it's been newly re-wired& has an antique switch in the front(converted to electric) The switch is turned to right each time you want to turn it off or no. It has a removable red port glass(see photos of it turned on, with and without the red glass) The clear glass has a small 1/2" chip in one of the ... moreribbed sections; it's a very heavy thick glass so this does not compromise anything. Near the top of the lamp there's an emblem that has the numbers"3883" There is also some etching on both the clear and red glass. I wonder if this belonged to a military ship. As most items on those ships were marked with serial#s etc. The writing on each glass piece says"DHJE 3883, No. 654, E.31.5.61" It's not very noticable and you can't see it unless you really look; it's not seen when the light is on. The door does stick some; you have to put some effort into it, to open it. Condition wise.it's vintage! There are a few dings& dents. Some areas of wear etc.but considering it was a ship light, it's going to have a weathered old look, which I personally prefer. I've never seen another light like this. It has a great industrial. Here is a Large 8 inch tall RED LENSE REAL GLASS marked Corning on glass Nautical SHIP. DOCK, or PIER Nautical Light. This 8 inch tall lamp has a 3 1/2 inch tall RED glass bezile lense, There are only a couple of specs on the glass that appears to be in very good condition NO CRACKS. The base is 6 inches across and the light is very heavy duty. Not sure if it is military as it appears to be somewhat grey in coloring. There is a number 9-S 4473-L in raised lettering on top. There is a 64 inch heavy duty cord with some type of plug in socket end see photo 5. Not sure if from a ship, dock or pier. Not sure if it works or what type of power supply it used. This lantern is approximately 5.5" x 5.5" x 14.5" and weighs almost 6 lbs. All glass in intact with no cracks. It has a wedge burner. I have not tried to use it. Vintage Starboard Ship Kerosene Lantern Light Lamp Port Blue Glass Brass 21" BIG
Vintage ship's starboard lantern in a unique tri-plex shape. One of the largest I've seen at 21" from base to finial. 11" x 11" square with the typical curved front. Thick blue glass(not an interchangeable light filter) with horizontal grooves. Brass trim and a brass finial with hanging ring. Great"keyhole" vent holes throughout. Suffers from an untidy paint job and is in need of some updating. Missing original kerosene lamp and has been converted with a light socket. Needs new electrical cord. Brass has a lovely patina and there is still some vintage kerosene soot on the inside of this lamp. There is a small spot on the bottom by a switch of some sort that corrosion has eaten through the metal. But it's repairable and not endemic to the rest of the lantern. Glass is free of cracks or chips.

Vintage 1950's Cattle HORNS Maritime SHIP with SAILS and LAMP Combo
This auction is for a very unique old piece of history of a maritime ship and lamp combo made of cattle corn. After some research. I believe it is from the 1950's. It measures in total approximately 11" tall x 18" wide x 5 3/4" wide. The sails are made from horn pieces, the main part of the boat is made from one horn and it sits on another part horn. The main horn is a little loose and needs tightening as it wabbles a little. though am not sure how it can be done. The base of the lamp sits on a wooden base. On the back of the ship there is what you would call a"LAMP SHADE" which looks like it is made out of fibreglass and has stitching all the way around it. The stithing however has come off on certain parts of the shade and is missing. Behind the centre of the shade there is a light bulb base which is attached ... moreto the wooden base and the shade. I haave tested it and it works, however the base of the socket is loose at times. The shade on the back side has two Burn marks from where( the ever so old light bulb used to shine) and on the larger burn mark there is a tear on the shade. Has three 8 x 3 1/2 inch glass panels wrapping around its front, one being the door. Heavy(10 lbs. before packaging) and very well constructed. Has a key which enters through a sliding door to adjust the flame. Very wind proof. Large bronze hanger on back. Has a tamper proof lock on front(no key for this one) Removable font is heavy tin construction with a very heavy brass chimneyless burner. This one appears to be a Viking but I cannot find any markings on this lantern or the lamp itself. It is complete. The wick is inside of the oil tank as shown. Has a black wooden handle on the top. The door opens and closes shut properly. Looks to have never been lit. There is one small dent in the side of the top. otherwise no damage. Measures about 6 1/2" X 7" X 16" tall including the hanlde. Vintage Mid Century Ceramic Ship TV lamp light from the 50's works fine
Portable TV lamp. Sticker on back reads underwriter's lab. Nice ship on the water. Back in the fifties when someone bought a new TV this would be given to the customer as a bonus, that is why they are called TV lamps. This one actually survived all those years and works. Due to the age there is typical age crazing but nothing is broken. On very top there might be a slight loss of paint but no chips. This looks wonderful lit up at night. As seen in attached photos Up for auction is a authentic ship's lantern from Japan. White light made by the Sento Company LTD. The label carries several sets of numbers. 582 B899 32 12 Also. The glass itself is marked in white with"1796" Electrical fittings have been tested and work perfectly. Add a light bulb and use as a lamp. Or copper tubing could easily be removed. Sat on top of gramp's beloved American made Magnavox tube television long before the days of wall-mounted LCD's. This is a vintage Red Glass Globe Lens made by GB INC. In excellent condition. Here are the dimensions: Overall height: 5" tall Body Diameter: 3-7/8" Flange diameter: 4-1/2" Flange thickness: 5/16" Weight: 1 lb. This globe/lens was salvaged from the"Endeavor" A Canadian anti-submarine research vessel commissioned in 1965 and decommissioned 10 years ago(see picture) We also have this same lens in a frosted clear glass.please let us know if you prefer the red or the frosted clear glass. The wood has a couple of age cracks but is intact. The height of the bulbs can be adjusted. Has glass window in front which can be easily removed. And a milk white glass finial.
