There are 2 small dents in the top dome, which can be popped out should you decide to do so(I will leave that up to the successful bidder) The burner has a wick and the wick turner works most of the time(a couple of times when I tried it it did not work but that may be due to the wick being so old. Up for auction is a antique bow light. I am unsure what boat this was off of but it was definitely removed from a boat here on long island. It appears to have a brass body and blue/ red glass. It does come with a wooden mount. The only issue with this light is it is chipped in the blue portion of the glass. Other then that it appears to be in nice shape. Antique Vintage Boat Nautical Marine Oil lamps Port Starboard Green Red Ship
Up for auction are two antique nautical port/ starboard oil lamps. I have yet to see a pair exactly like this with smooth glass. Unfortunately i do not see any markings on them. The body's of the lamp appear to be galvanized but i could be wrong. The lenses of these lamps are in very nice shape with no visable cracks. One is green and one is red. These lamps appear complete minus the one is missing a part out of the bottom as seen in the picture. The only other issue is that the top of the one lamp has a dent and the top has some minor damage. Other then that they would make a great display piece. These are being sold as is. Very unusual folk art lamp. The captain is standing on a pier or dock. Ducks to his left and the ducks are made with real feathers, hemp roped pylons to his rear, buoy behind him,seagull flying, ladder going up the pylons, wooden keg, fishing net and even a rat. The folk artist that assembled it has his initials on the ladder. Shade is original to the lamp and sort of a burlap look outside with a paper liner inside. Switch is 3 way and works, wiring looks ok. Vintage National Marine Company combination bow lantern. We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this wonderful piece of vintage maritime/nautical hardware. This early style kerosene burner combination navigation light with Fresnel lenses made by the National Marine Lamp Co. of New York. This lamp was made prior to 1912 since after that date National Maritime were marked with a patent date of 1912 or used the trade name“Triplex” This is an early example since the company was founded in 1906. This lamp is most suitable for someone seeking this shielded design of which only a few have survived. It has a great deal of character and a wonderfully warm patina. THE MAKER: National Marine Lamp Co. According to Anthony Hobson's Lanterns that Lit our World, Book 2 was started in 1906 operating from Pear St. in New York City. ... moreIt brought the burner shop Bristol Brass in Forestville, CT in 1911. National Marine bought from Bristol Brass, so similarities in the products are to be expected. Later National Marine absorbed a company called American Lamp and Brass, according to Hobson, but the"American" name died with the acquisition. Fredrick Perkins became president of National in 1913. Frederick and his son Louis left that company in 1916 and moved back to Brooklyn, New York where they started Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation so there is a lot of lamp history in this early lamp. Pair Vintage Copper Brass NEPTUNE NR Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical Maritime Cage NR
This auction is for a pair of vintage NEPTUNE NR copper and brass ship oil lamp lanterns. These lamps are in EXCELLENT estate found condition with a stunning and even patina. They are beautifully crafted from copper and brass and secured with a chain and hook in the front. These lanterns both have a badge at the top with the Neptune hallmark and NR. All of the glass is in beautiful condition(with the exception of some dust from being displayed) The globe inside is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The oil lamp inside is secured to a metal wire that stays in place by sliding down two opposing corners inside. And sits very securely inside with no wobble. I do not know the age of the lanterns, and have seen only a few similar, but most of then have all brass cages(die to the reddish tint I do believe this is mostly copper) ... moreor have been polished. None have been found also with this exact badge in the same place and this stunning copper patina with the reddish copper undertones that almost glow through. This has not been cleaned or polished, but I'm sure would polish up nicely if the buyer wishes to do so. Each lantern stands 15"high without handle, and 17 1/2" tall with handle, by approx 7"wide. RARE Vintage Lantern Light Buoy Piling Ship Anchor Dock Nautical Galv. Brass
Up for auction today is vintage nautical lantern. Different people call these types by such names as; buoy. Piling, master head, anchor, or dock lantern/ light. I am not sure of the proper name or use for this lantern. Can you inform me? It measures 17 ½” tall. The bottom is 8” in diameter, the top is 7 ½” in diameter, the lens is 4 ¾” tall(the exposed portion) and the lens is approx 5” in diameter. The lens is a dark ruby red and I see no cracks or chips. The body is galvanized metal with the rings. Latching hardware and the top ring of bottom portion being made of brass. There is a makers mark on the inside but some is missing and I cannot tell by what I can read who the maker is. Do you know? I assume that it was battery operated but there is no battery or wiring that is visible. I did not take the top portion apart and ... moredo not know if there is a bulb inside. The one photo that shows the lens bright was held up to the sun. The lantern is in good overall condition with some oxidation and rust as shown. The base has two mount holes that are about 3 1/2 inches on center of each other. The globe is glass and in good condition. The light weighs over 3 pounds. You can access the bulb area by unscrewing the cage. The cage and the globe unscrew as one piece on this design. The cage screw on and off with little effort. This light has been totally rewired with all new UL-Listed parts rated for any voltage of 250 volts or less. The ... morenew bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 50 watts or less. Vintage Nautical Buoy Table Lamp Vintage nautical buoy table lamp that stands 9" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter it is made of brass and light steel with a frosted globe. The bottom is weighted down so it can not fall over but it will roll side to side. Also there is a brass bell at the top of the lamp that will ring when the lamp is in motion but it has to move pretty far in order to get the bell to ring. The external wiring is old looking but I did plug the lamp in for a very short time and it did light up(The on switch says DEAL on it) I don't encourage using this lamp without it being rewired. It shows age and is a great candidate for restoration or show it as it is, either way it is a great looking conversation piece. This lamp is being sold as I found it. Up for auction are 2 authentic vintage marine lanterns. MaxLumina marine lantern. Model ML-155,series B, Tideland Signal Corp, Houston. Great for nautical Decor. These were taken off the vessel operating on the intercoastal waterways. This auction includes the two lights shown in the pictures. The amber color light has a cracked lens on the lower lip. Huge vintage Pauluhn Nautical Pier lights. stamped- cat no. 1453 Great Nautical heavy duty design. Believed to be solid brass- Will not stick to a magnet. These are mounted to bases manufactured by- Kenilworth N.J. and read Suitable for wet locations. We have not attempted to clean or polish these at all. One of the red or off red glass globes has 6 chips on its fins which are hard to notice because of the large size. The other red globe which is a slightly different tone then the other has only one chip on a fin. Both globes have some minor flea biting on the fins and scratching/ wear throughout from age and outdoor use. The brass or metal has scratching scuffing etc. and one of them has a little chunk missing shown in photograph# 3. The metal is either BRASS or BRONZE and EXTREMELY HEAVY! The red and green lenses look to be very old. ORIGINAL and quite THICK! The red one has a few dings in it as pictured, but the green one does not. Looks like it would have been mounted on a pole at the bow of the boat or vessel. GORGEOUS AUTHENTIC and OLD! VINTAGE GALVANIZED NAUTICAL SHIP LANTERN(with a PERKO oil burner) made by WILCOX. CRITTENDEN& CO. INC. Photos are of the actual item you will receive. This lantern took a fall and ended up with a cracked and chipped glass. And a dented rim. CONDITION: Used- Good- One Dent GLASS: Cracked and with two chips along the crack. FINISH: There are some spots on the rim(just above the glass) where the galvanized paint flaked off and the exposed metal rusted. DIMENSIONS: Base Diameter: 7-1/2" Glass Diameter: 6" approx.
