Maritime Navigational Lanterns.The main housing is constructed of galvanized iron and ... morethe top cover is copper. However they have not been shined up. The original manufacturer was Wilcox& Crittenden& Co. There trademark was Capital W with a Capital C embossed on top of one another. The factory was in Middletown, CONN. USA. There is a photo of the Logo which appears to be embossed on brass, it is on the side, located on top of a metal sleeve, which is riveted on the lantern itself. This sleeve must have been used to slip over something to hold it secure to the ship. Both sleeves are intact and extremely secure. This embossing is very difficult to capture in a photo as the glare, and clarity of a photo so close. The lanterns stand just shy of 13" tall with the hanging loop standing up. They are made to fit in a corner. The sides measure 5" With the front curving around to meet the 2 sides. The glass itself is 5" tall and is almost 90 degrees. One lantern has fresnel green glass for the starboard, and the lantern with the fresnel red glass is for the port. The glass on both lanterns is in very good shape and have no cracks or chips. The metal round accesses to the oil chambers/wicks are both present and appear tight when screwed in. The wick chambers need cleaning, but seem to work, and even have wick left in them! We didn't attempt to light them, but knowing something about oil lanterns, don't see any reason they wouldn't work, however this isn't a guarantee. just presenting things honestly. The metal. Nowhere, on either lantern shows any sign of rust. However they are a brown color. Paint appears to be old, in some places chipping, or peeling off. There are the usual signs of true usage. Wear and tear. Overall appear to be in very good shape. I have not checked them for leakage, however on inspection, I don't see any reason they would leak. I have no idea how old they are. Here is a vintage WW11 era ships Light spotlight. Heavy duty piece. This was made to bolt onto a ships rail or such. It needs to be rewired. I have not tried to clean or use this in any way. Vintage Marine Ship Navigation Light Nautical Maritime Lantern Clear Boat WW II
My husband is organizing his shop and parting with quite a few items. Here is one of those items and his description of it: Maybe a good Christmas gift for the nautical collector in your life? Vintage marine ship’s iron navigation light. 180 degree clear glass Fresnel lens Navy? WWII? I picked this up at an estate sale and planned to use it as yard lighting. Turned out it did not fit the landscape plan. This is a large ships navigation light. Either for the stern(showing white two points abaft of the beam, starboard and port) or masthead light(forward, showing two points abaft of beam, both starboard and port) This shows a bit of light surface rust in spots. The result of years at sea. There is no internal mounting or wiring for a bulb, but that could be easily designed and installed. The gasket around the hinged lid is missing, but could ... morebe replaced with some type of weather-stripping. There are two small chips in the Fresnel lens, as shown in the photo. These should not affect the durability of the lens. You can see the imperfections in the lens from the glass casting process, as sign of its age. This stands 11 ½ inches tall. 8 inches in diameter(across) 9 inches across the top latch and hinge. The Fresnel lens is full width and 7 inches high. The base is round with“bayonet” mounting slots and is 5 ¾ inches outside and 5 3/16 inch inside diameter. The lid is held closed by a hinge on one side and thumb bolt on the other. The lid swings open freely. This is how I found it, I only cleaned the lens to confirm no other damage. I put a light inside it to show what it looks like illuminated for the pictures. The light does not come with this piece of marine hardware. As many ships navigation lights are made of brass or bronze. I can’t help to wonder if this was from a WWII ship, a time when these metals were in short supply and needed for munitions manufacture for the war effort. This is a nautical theme hand painted wood table lamp with a lighthouse seagulls sailing ships sailboats and ocean. It has a crackle type surface and is hand painted. The pictures do not do it justice. The colors are very strong. blue white black green yellow red. It is a gorgeous lamp. It works great. It does not come with a shade. It is 28" tall to the top, the base is about 15" tall. It was bought at an antique shop, but I think it is Vintage. It has a sticker at the bottom that says Shady Lady.

Very unusual pair of vintage brass maritime lanterns with beautiful patina. These lanterns are in very good shape with oil lamps intact and operable. I have tested the wick adjustment and they both work as intended. They measure App. 6" x 6" x 15 1/2" in height. I have provided several images for your viewing and they should be considered part of the description. I was told these were made around 1920's or 30's and it is very unusual to find a matching pair. One lantern handle is missing a brass screw and both lantern tops have minor bends in the sheet metal mentioned for accuracy only. It really does not take from them at all. Glass on both is also intact and unbroken. I provided an image with the lanterns lit with tea lights to show the charm they have when lit. Lantern Vintage Kerosene/Candle Ship Railroad Auto Barn Nautical Maritime E-5
This is an old lantern. I do not know where it was used. It has old paint and surface rust. It is about 5“ wide and 6” deep. With the handle up it is about 14” The top cap is 3 ½” in diameter. The side has a slide plate for inside access. There is a small glass window on the back. The front flat glass is 5“ in diameter. It has some deposits on the inside. I do not know if it needs a kerosene holder or work with a candle. Neither are included. It is for display and non-operating. As always since 2001. TD. Red Light! A96-0.83 3 also has 26.5 on it. Has 360 degree thick glass with tiny air bubbles. Has both hanging and suspending brackets. Has been electrified and has a large red light in it. Perfect for a collection. On a porch, next to a fish pond. So many options. Will be wrapped and probably double boxed and insured. 16 1/2" tall without the handles and at least 11" wide. Lots of hand work went into this old lamp. Smaller binnacle's were lit with one small lamp like this one. Larger compasses needed two larger lamps. A little rough around the edges but its all there. Three components are the oil burner itself, the lamp carrier with the handle& the base tag attaches to the compass housing with the angled shade. Here is a small only 6" tall old oil lamp. It is made in England and mounts in a ships cabin, it has the mounting bracket that swivels with the movement of the ocean. Vintage Copper Ship lantern Original NOT reproduction. This was on a ship! Stern Co 1974 Double light front which is rare Has a few dents- nothing major. One on the top one on the back side. Please see pictures. Has set up for 2 light bulbs- I have always used as a display on my kitchen floor in the corner. I'm assuming it needs to be re- wired if you want to use as a light.
