This is a vintage heavy brass lantern with a wood handle. Don't know much about this as to what type of lantern it is. It appears that this was possibly converted at one time to an electric lamp or was always an electric lamp made to resemble a lantern. The front has a working hinged opening that lools like it held a glass lense at one time. An attached brass plate on the front shows a picture of a ship or riverboat and the name"LOUISIANE" underneath this ship. This measures 16 3/4" to the top of the handle. 12 1/2" tall not including handle, 9" deep on the side, 6" wide at the front(at the widest point) Nice patina without much tarnish. Vintage/Antique Ship's Brass Collectible Large Nautical working Lantern
Here is a Brass Boat Lantern Nautical. Vintage, Brass, Working, Large heavy duty. There is no name on it but the glass has VIM on it. The glass is special because it is thick glass and this is made so it is a much brighter light so you can much further away that regular glass. It weights approx. 6 3/4 lbs. by its self. Measures approx. 18" Tall( out handle it is about 14" tall) x 6 3/4" D. You unscrew the screw on top to open, lift the tank out by the lifter handles, unscrew wick, fill tank, screw wick back in place, put tanker back in place by the lifter handles and you are ready to go. Most of the time the lifter handles are missing. Only thing I see wrong not bad is a very small chip in glass(see last picture) Insurance will be required. Questions are welcomed. Vintage Brass Nautical / Train Light Oil Lantern / Lamp
Here is a brass oil lamp marked made in England as it the burner it looks to be in very good condition. It may be off of a ship or train. It has a bracket to mount it to a bulkhead or a wall that is with it. Just mount the bracket to the bulkhead or wall and the lamp just slides into the bracket so it can removed to refuel the light. You can also just remove the burner and tank to refuel the lamp.The lamp is approximately 12" tall by 4 3/4" deep by 6 5/8"wide. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description. Up for sale is a beautiful pair of old brass maritime oil lantern that is signed"Wedge. These are really fine old lanterns. And very well made. The rivets are copper. There is glass on all four sides behind the grates. One side is a door that opens via a little latch. This lantern measures about 15" tall by 6 3/4" by 6 3/4" with the handle up they measure 22 1/2" The brass has a beautiful, aged patina and the glass is free of any chips or cracks. It exposes the inner lantern with chimney. This lantern can be removed by pulling up on the 2 brass handles in opposite corners. The wick is in good condition and can be used. In the main lantern housing. There are 4 panes of glass that fit into a track and are removable for cleaning. There are a few chips in the bottom of this glass but they do not show from the outside. Rare NOAAS REASEARCHER R-103 Vessel Emergency Light Acquired and restored by an engineer that was on the ship The Researcher R-103 was built in 1968 and had this name from 1970-1987 then it was renamed. The vessel was decommisioned in 1996. Included is the complete detailed drawing of the lamp circuit. Holds the charge for use once the battery is taken out. Use a 6 volt battery to charge and remove for use of the light. I was told by the engineer that restored it that it works and the bulb appears to be intact. The lamp holding the bulb is brass. The red box is metal. Weighs 5 pounds 9oz. The total height is 11" x 9" wide& 4" deep. The red box measures 6.25" x 6.75" x 4" The letters of the name of the ship are cut out of the red paint. Vintage Nautical Weighted Oil Lamp, Gimbal-Mount Brass Boat Lantern w/ Chimney
Antique Brass Ship's Oil Lantern. Looks like it was never used. Very nice condition; only one small dent in the wick assembly. And that can probably be pushed back from behind the guard very easily. There is no maker's mark or logo on the lamp. But there is an"RV" and an anchor on the wick turn knob. The glass chimney appears to be original to the lamp. Dimensions: 12 7/8" overall. 5 3/4" from back of mounting plate for the gimbal to the outside of the lamp. Chimney measures 6 7/8" in height and is 3 1/4" in diameter, the lamp body measures 7 1/2" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/4" total width including the gimbal mounting pins that project 3/8" from either side of the lamp body.
