Burner stamped THE NATIONAL MARINE LAMP CO. metal plate on the flat back side has a patent date of APRIL 1ST 1913. 10" tall to the top of the ring on top, 4 3/4" wide, 4 1/2" deep, galvanized metal. The burner is rusted through and is missing one of two metal tabs that held it in place. The metal lantern shows areas of surface rust but is solid and not flimsy in any way, ding on the cupola where the ring is mounted, both pieces of glass in good condition. It would be simple to electrify or even easier to place a battery op light inside and enjoy the colored glass. Perko vintage Starboard Lanterm- WWII I purchased this lamp from a person who worked for NAVSEA(Naval Sea Systems Command)At the Norfolk naval shipyard, in Portsmouth, VA. Salvaged from the AP168 USS Gage The Last Journey for the USS Gage By E.B. Fletcher On Thursday. July 23, 2009, the aged creaking hulk of the once proud USS Gage slowly made her way from the James River Reserve Fleet for her last journey to Brownsville, Texas where she will be demolished. The Gage stoically cooperated with the McAllister tugs which were assigned to tow her from Hampton Roads. The Gage's weather beaten hull was blotched with rust hiding any prior Navy gray paint. Her anchors were gone and the only visible sign of any life aboard this forgotten lady were the remnants of an abandoned Osprey nest cradled within one of her forward masts. The Gage(APA-168) ... morewas an amphibious/attack transport designed to sail to the site of amphibious operations carrying assault troops and support equipment during World War II. The lamp base is bordered with fisherman's rope, as is the back of the lamp surrounding the barometer. The Carrington barometer was made in England. And is in working condition, but I'm unsure of its accuracy. The lamp is controlled with a 3 way light switch which controls both the lamp and the lantern. Vintage Port/Starboard Brass Ships Lantern
For sale is a very unique item. This is a vintage circa early 1900's divided port and starboard red and green ships lantern. It measures 10 inches tall not counting the handle. With the handle it is 14 1/2 inches tall. Across the back it is 10 3/4 inches wide. Side measurements are 9 3/4 inches wide. The glass measures approx. 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. I do believe it is brass as a magnet does not stick. It is an electric lantern with the original on/off switch. It is in very good original condition. This was found in Key West FL. Really cool Perko marine cabin lanterns. These are manufactured to function either as oil or electrical lighting. They are like new condition. Never been utilized, but stored for years. They are solid brass, 8 3/4" tall(not including top ring) and 4 1/2" in dia. at the base. Time has toned the brass down to an even, lightly darker patina. The electric light receptacle is for a double contact bayonet type bulb. Antique Navigational Wilcox & Crittenden Port & Starboard Oil Lantern Pair
For Sale is a very nice set of 2 original oil burning nautical. Maritime Navigational Lanterns.The main housing is constructed of galvanized iron and the top cover is copper. However they have not been shined up. The original manufacturer was Wilcox& Crittenden& Co. There trademark was Capital W with a Capital C embossed on top of one another. The factory was in Middletown, CONN. USA. There is a photo of the Logo which appears to be embossed on brass, it is on the side, located on top of a metal sleeve, which is riveted on the lantern itself. This sleeve must have been used to slip over something to hold it secure to the ship. Both sleeves are intact and extremely secure. This embossing is very difficult to capture in a photo as the glare, and clarity of a photo so close. The lanterns stand just shy of 13" tall with the hanging ... moreloop standing up. They are made to fit in a corner. The sides measure 5" With the front curving around to meet the 2 sides. The glass itself is 5" tall and is almost 90 degrees. One lantern has fresnel green glass for the starboard, and the lantern with the fresnel red glass is for the port. The glass on both lanterns is in very good shape and have no cracks or chips. The metal round accesses to the oil chambers/wicks are both present and appear tight when screwed in. The wick chambers need cleaning, but seem to work, and even have wick left in them! We didn't attempt to light them, but knowing something about oil lanterns, don't see any reason they wouldn't work, however this isn't a guarantee. just presenting things honestly. The metal. Nowhere, on either lantern shows any sign of rust. However they are a brown color. Paint appears to be old, in some places chipping, or peeling off. There are the usual signs of true usage. Wear and tear. Overall appear to be in very good shape. I have not checked them for leakage, however on inspection, I don't see any reason they would leak. I have no idea how old they are. Up for sale is a Starboard Meteorlite Lamp 51751. There is a patent number(546575) on a brass plate soldered to the front of the lamp. Please see the photos. The dimensions of this historic ship lamp are about 23 inches high. 11 inches wide and 17 inches across the middle. The nautical lamp is made of primarily of sheet copper with brass fittings. There is a green light filter behind the glass that is removable. The Starboard Meteorite Lamp was made in Liverpool, England by Hugh Douglas, Walmsley, L'Pool, Sheet Iron Worker, Shipsmith, Boiler Maker, Tinsmith. Please see the photos. This lamp is in generally excellent condition. This is some patina. A few tiny dings and scratches, but presents very well and appears to be still 100% functional, though I did not put kerosene in the lamp tank to try it. The wick is in good condition and I ... morehave little doubt that it would not light right up. The heavy brass T handled screw for attachment is included. My father loved the sea and lived for many years near the water in Newport. Oregon. This lamp, along with a matching port side lamp in another auction and a ship's compass/binnacle, were among the few things that he left behind when he died in 1998. I've held onto them until now, but I'm getting old and can't see that I'm going to do anything with them. This is a very heavy item at about 22lbs. Fedex shipping will be $30. I would be willing to deliver it within 100 miles of Portland. OR for expenses, in order not to have to ship it if someone reasonably local purchases it. Vtg Perkins PERKO Marine Boat Lamp Starboard Bow Green Red Glass Light Lantern
This listing is for a vintage Perkins PERKO Marine boat Kerosene Lamp. Finding one in better condition than this one will be a challenge. The lamp is made of Galvanized metal and has a Brass Top/Finial and the Kerosene lights hardware is made of Brass. The Dark Green and red lens are made of Glass and are chip and damage free. The design of this lamp is different than most others. The inside hardware is accessible from the bottom of the lamp only. It has ingenious spring loaded tabs of each side. If you want to pull out the hardware you simply squeeze the tabs and pull the hardware out. As you can see from the photo's the Brass hardware is in excellent condition and includes what is probably the original wick.I think this lamp has spent most of it's life indoors. The outside Galvanized Metal is also in excellent condition. Nothing ... moreis loose. All corners etc very tight construction. The top finial piece with hanging loop is made of Brass. I did not clean this. Left the original patina. I did however clean the Brass Perkins/ Perko identification tag because I could not read what it says. Unusual Antique "Perko" Maritime Bow OIL Lantern ~Starboard & Port Lenses
Vintage“Perko” Maritime Bow Marker Oil Lamp Port& Starboard There seams to have been some repair to secure the Lenses and a Copper divide has been welded in on front of lamp. The Main case is galvanized metal and the top is brass. The Body is in good condition. With a mounting bracket on back and a Perko" oval stamped brass logo plate. The Lenses are red and a green(Port& Starboard) and in Perfect condition The Oil Burner seems to be a working unit with a wick still in place. The bottom of the lamp has a pinch clip insert. An antique dealer informed me that based on the design. Quality, and materials used, it was likely built in the 1940’s by the prolific Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp based in Brooklyn. It measures 7½” tall(with the bale down) x 7” wide x 6” deep and weighs 3 pounds. The brass has been polished and clear coated. While the galvanized tin has been painted dark green and antiqued. Included are the original electric lighting fixture and oil font. The Perko Company information is engraved or embossed in the face of the brass burner adjusting knob. The green(turned blue) ribbed door glass lens appears to be original and in near perfect condition. Perko’s trade mark tag ... moreis still affixed to the mounting bracket and is legible. Someone has spent a lot of time and effort refurbishing this nautical artifact. Which makes it an exceptional piece of U.S. Maritime history. Large Antique Nautical Lantern Vintage 5-way Green Ship Lamp Port& Starboard Used- Antique Nautical Lantern This lantern has some discoloration around glass and on seams. Pictures reflect a bent spot along one of the upper seams. Approximate size is 14.5" tall including carry handle by 9" wide. This lantern has NOT been converted to an electrical light. I have included the lighted pictures so you can see the brilliance of the green glass. Glass does not have any cracks or major scratches in them. The glass does not have any marks in the glass, other than what appears to be consistent with how glass was made during that time. I do not know the exact age of this lantern. However it is the only one I have seen with 5 semi-globe sections. I was going to convert this Kerosene/oil lamp into a lighted lamp and clean it up for my nautical ... morethemed room, but never got around to it. I now am moving and liquidating some of my stuff. I did pay quit a bit for this lamp due to its unusualness and size, however I am willing to take any reasonable offers. This would be a great old kerosene o conversion lantern to put in a parlor, back porch, sitting room or make great lighting for movie night. I prefer the green over your normal red port lights because it is a little softer and not as aggressive in nature depending on your usage or if you decide to use it for a child's night lantern for sleeping. Vintage Nautical Barometer Lamp, Ship in Bottle & Starboard Copper Lantern
A rare vintage nautical barometer lamp with a ship in the bottle and an antique copper starboard oil lamp with a blue glass lens. The barometer is a Carrington. Which was made in England, and is in working order. The antique copper starboard oil lamp is a Tung Woo, and is in excellent condition for its age. The 3 way light switch controls both the lamp and lantern, so one can light both lamps or just one of them. The vintage ship in the bottle has a chain attached to the cork, which is anchored to a brass post on the base of the lamp. The base of this lamp is bordered with fisherman's rope, as is the barometer. The wood on this vintage lamp may have some scuff marks from its long journeys, but appears in great condition for its age. The lamp stands 30” in height, 20” in width, and 10” in depth. Beautiful Vintage Ship's Starboard Bluegreen Lantern. Solid brass in excellent condition, electrified with in-line hi-low 2 stage cord switch. Measures 11-1/2" height, 7.5" diameter. Bluegreen original vintage fresnel lens is 5-3/4" high x 5-1/2" diameter, very good condition save for two chips. One is 2 5/8" smaller is 5/8" No cracks. Solid and heavy.17+ lbs. All three gaskets superb, non brittle condition. Minor tarnish/oxidation here and there consistent with age. I've added solid brass acorn decorative nuts.
