Instead I used an antique porcelain fitting with a brass top from a part from an antique Aladdin oil lamp. The switch hangs free and was intended to hang conveniently down a wall for easy reach. This could be removed if the light were to be used with a wall switch or dimmer. The repro Edison bulb is included and is brand new but we do not guarantee them. They seem to be a bit more fragile regular bulbs. 1920's Maritime Nautical Neptune Oil Lamp Brass Ships Lantern
Vintage 1920's maritime brass oil burning ships lantern. I have not polished it but it seems to be in great condition. There is no corrosion to the brass and the glass sides and chimney have no chips or cracks and there is just a small dent on the top. It is missing the wick. Please look at pictures closely. F H LOVELL& CO.Antique Brass Nautical Ships Lantern late 1800's lamp. This lantern looks great! The glass is thick and very old. There are no flaws.Chips or cracks in the glass. I was going to electrify this lantern but it would not go with any of our other decor.Just a couple of slight dents in the brass from use. Right now there is no means by which to light this lantern. I dropped in a light bulb to show off the color of the glass when illuminated. This is a great piece of history. F H Lovell started around the civil war era. It made marine lanterns primarily. By the early 1920's the name was changed because the company merged with a railroad lantern company so this lantern was most likely manufactured around 1880. The lantern is 10 inches tall(14 inches tall with handle) and the width is 9 inches in diameter.

It measures from the bottom to the top of the handle approx 24" and Width at the widest point is approx. 12 1/2" and weighs 15 lbs. It is constructed of Copper and Brass. It is Kerosene with a Red Lens to be used as a Nautical Maritime Signal Lamp. But I am not expert and am trying to give you the best description and details that I can. This auction is for a nice vintage metal sconce electrical ships wheel lamp. It includes a nice paper clip on shade. The ships wheel measures approximately 5 1/4" in diameter(6" including the handles) It is in good working condition. Please use my photos for the best description of condition.

Vtg. Neptune Oil Lamp, Brass Marine Ships Hanging Pole Mount Light
Recent estate sale find looking for a new home. This lamp is in working condition and shows a great patina. All glass is intact. There are two dents noted and pictured in frames 6-7. One on top of"shoulder" and the other on top of lid. They only add to the great character of the piece. Lamp height is approximately 14 1/2 inches with a body about 7 inches square. The pole mounting brackets on the sides add a couple more inches. Look at the pictures and ask any questions you have before bidding. U.S. sale and shipping only. Large ANTIQUE Double Stacked SHIPS LIGHT Clear Lens BRASS Nautical Lantern Lamp
Please read my listing thoroughly and view all my PHOTOS before bidding: Here is a large antique brass double stacked ships light with handle and clear lenses. Measures about 16" high(including the handle) x 6" wide. Weight is 8 pounds. To help give an idea of scale. In the photos I put the light next to a regular size coffee cup. There are no markings on this light that I can find. There has been no cleaning or restoration done to this light, it has quite a bit of tarnish and natural patina. There is a small dent on the top but no other dents. One of the support braces has come loose(see photo#11) The wiring is ancient and not useable. One of the lenses has a crack that runs about a third of the way up the lens(see photo#12)there are no other cracks and no chips on either of the lenses. Antique Ships Naval Candle Lantern Lamp Eli Griffiths & Son Birmingham 1940-49
This is a ships candle lantern made by"Eli Griffiths& Son" of Birmingham England. When I bought it. I was told that this particular model was made between 1940 and 1949. I see 2 other lanterns by the same maker on ebay right now at $185. $322. Niether of them is at all the same style as this one, so it's not much of a comafrison. The top is hinged, and the hing works nicly. The latch also works well, and holds closed as it's suposed to when caried by the handle. The 5 glass pannels are all in good condition with no cracks. The floor inside is well coated with wax from use. There are vent holes in the bottom, and it is also vented at the top. There is a slit in the side of the cup that the candle sits in to allow the wax to run out. This makes so you can burn a candle all the way doen to nothing. I have made a small wooden ... morecollar so you can use a canxdle that is smaller in diamiter than what it was made for if you like. This is not a light weight lantern. It weighs just over 5 LBs. Shipping isn't going to be cheap) The glass is thick. And it is well protected by metal bars. I think the main metal is tin, but I'm not sure. Dimentions; Hight. 13 1/2" add 4" with the handle up.
