Antique 1800s Nautical Post Lantern Lighthouse Lamp Ship Mast Anchor Light Brass
Description: This is a large antique"birdcage" type oil lantern that was made between 1860 and 1890. It has a period Fresnel lens globe that is in good condition with a bit of chipping around the rim. But no cracks or structural damage. These brass lamps were re-produced by Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation but this one is an original 1800s light as shown by the beautifully decorated hanging ring at the top, careful handmade construction, etc. This one is also extra special in that it has the post fittings for use in a light house- it is missing the brass plate which would have marked it as such, but you can see where it used to be attached. These antique nautical lamps were used extensively for anchor lights, and after its life in a lighthouse it may have been used at the top of the mast during heavy fog or in the night to keep other ... moreships from running into the boat. It is missing the burner and bottom plate- it may have been wired for electric after the use of whale oil lamps declined, but please note that only what is in the pictures is included. This is a large nautical lantern measuring 14" tall and 6" wide. It is in"as found" condition with a dark patina on the brass, dirty glass, small dents, tiny cracks in the brass, and various other age/use related marks. He couldn't remember now long ago but he said'decades' I looks on eBay for information and found it was made by Russell& Stoll Co. It is 10 1/2" over all the the wall/boat mount area is a circle that is 6" across the center. It is very heavy at 6 pounds without packageing materials/box. It is in 3 pieces. The case that screws in over the light globe. The glass globe which also screws in and the back that the globe and case both screw into. The glass globe reads in raised glass"P C. CO. and also has a number too that reads"9-S-4971-L" and the globe has no broken glass at all. It is thick and domed. The two glass window panes are intact and there is a panel that you open to access the wick of the lamp. The wick does move up and down ... moresmoothly and you remove the top to access the oil reservoir. There are no dents in the brass or damage just normal wear as seen in photos. You simply mount the round brass circle to the wall and slip the oil lantern into it. This is a super cool piece. One of a kind and will make an AWESOME addition to any nautical theme, cabin, cottage, home, boat decor themes etc. It is a hanging light- Light lantern stands 18 inches tall, hanging chain is also approx. 18 inches. This is a vintage Anchor galvanized light painted yellow with heavy, thick glass. 1970's. Has not been tested since being taken down, but was working last time it was hooked up, you are buying as is! Offered here is this beautiful antique brass ship maritime marine lamp. It is in original untouched condition. It may need to be cleaned or polished but I am selling it as is as some collectors like things in original condition and also. I wouldn't know what cleaner to use so as not to ruin the natural patina. The light still has the original wiring intact. There are no chips or cracks to the glass that I can see. The protective cage around the glass globe is intact. The lamp is in overall nice condition. Vintage Cast Brass Ship's Nautical Passageway Light - Rewired & Polished #6

You are bidding on the vintage cast brass Ship's nautical passageway ceiling light shown in the above photos. This light measure about 8 1/2 inches tall and about 4 inches wide. The base has three mount holes that are about 2 1/2 inches off the center of the light. The globe is glass and in good condition. The light weighs almost 5 pounds. You can access the bulb area by unscrewing the cage and then unscrewing the glass globe. The glass is undamaged. But could use some additional cleaning. The cage and the glass globe screw on and off with little effort. This light has been totally rewired with all new UL-Listed parts rated for any voltage of ... more250 volts or less. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 100 watts or less. The new wires exit from the new hole we drilled on the bottom of the light, and the original conduit holes have been plugged with copper caps. These lights were recovered from one of our many salvage operations. These lights will have some minor wear that may include bending to the cage ribs. While we have removed most of the original paint and polished the light, some buyer may want to do additional polishing work. The cage has one broken rib near the threaded ring on the bottom side. Not a big issue. But I just want to point it out. This can also be seen in the attached photos. This light can be used inside or outside. It will never rust! If you have questions. Old 20th Century Antique Russell& Stoll Co Port Ship Lantern Light Boat Marine Red glass appears to be solid. Lantern shows age and use. Plate on inside has Russell& Stoll co stamp. Stands 23 1/2" tall to top of hanger. About 14" wide head on. Top is bent in. I have seen others with the same thing on them and believe it was purposely bent like that to fit on the ships they were used on since its not only this one I've seen like that. Don't know much about item but it may have been customized. Has not been tested but definately could be made to work with some retro fitting by someone who knows what they are doing. The lens was made by the now defunct Durkee Marine Products Company of Staten Island, New York. The company went out of business in 1920, so this item was made no later than that date. 6 Ship Running Light & Binnacle Lamp Lighting Devices
I've been cleaning out more miscellaneous marine bits and pieces from my basement. Here are 6 lighting devices. I believe the three round ones fit into standard Perko port. Starboard, and masthead running lights, but I don't know that for certain, so you will have to make up your own mind about it. Two of these are in perfect condition and appear as though they have never been used. The third one has some minor corrosion and the top portion that raises and lowers the wick(which is missing) is broken at the neck where it screws into the reservoir; however, this could be easily soldered together again if you chose to do it. These 3 lighting devices are 3" to 3 1/4" high and are about 2 11/16" in diameter at their base. I think the three rectangular shaped devices are probably from copper U.S. Navy slant front lifeboat ... morebinnacles but I won't guarantee this. So it is up to you to decide. The copper colored one may be from World War I and is excellent used condition. It is 2" high and the base measures 2 11/16" by 1 5/8" The other 2 rectangular devices are in very good condition and my guess is that they are from World War II. These are 1 3/4" high and the bases measure 2 3/4" by 2 1/16" These are being sold without reserve and. With a starting bid of just $30.00 or $5,00 apiece, they are priced to sell. It weighs a little over 12 pounds. I'm not sure if it's copper or brass. It's also very LARGE. It measures about 13 1/2" tall, 13 3/4" wide and is approximately 9 1/2" deep from each corner to the back. It was a originally a kerosene or oil ship's lantern. It's an amazing light! It's in excellent working condition, it's been newly re-wired& has an antique switch in the front(converted to electric) The switch is turned to right each time you want to turn it off or no. It has a removable red port glass(see photos of it turned on, with and without the red glass) The clear glass has a small 1/2" chip in one of the ... moreribbed sections; it's a very heavy thick glass so this does not compromise anything. Near the top of the lamp there's an emblem that has the numbers"3883" There is also some etching on both the clear and red glass. I wonder if this belonged to a military ship. As most items on those ships were marked with serial#s etc. The writing on each glass piece says"DHJE 3883, No. 654, E.31.5.61" It's not very noticable and you can't see it unless you really look; it's not seen when the light is on. The door does stick some; you have to put some effort into it, to open it. Condition wise.it's vintage! There are a few dings& dents. Some areas of wear etc.but considering it was a ship light, it's going to have a weathered old look, which I personally prefer. I've never seen another light like this. It has a great industrial. This 8 inch tall lamp has a 3 1/2 inch tall RED glass bezile lense, There are only a couple of specs on the glass that appears to be in very good condition NO CRACKS. The base is 6 inches across and the light is very heavy duty. Not sure if it is military as it appears to be somewhat grey in coloring. There is a number 9-S 4473-L in raised lettering on top. There is a 64 inch heavy duty cord with some type of plug in socket end see photo 5. Not sure if from a ship, dock or pier. Not sure if it works or what type of power supply it used.
