The barometer is a Carrington. Which was made in England. And appears to be in working order. The copper starboard oil lamp is a Tung Woo, which was made in Hong Kong. And is in excellent condition for its age. Since there is a small light bulb installed in the oil lamp, I am also including the original oil burner for the starboard lamp. The 3 way light switch controls both the lamp and lantern, so one can light both lamps or just one of them. The vintage ship in the bottle has a chain attached to the cork, which is anchored to a brass post on the base of the lamp.The base of this lamp is bordered with fisherman's rope, as is the back with ... morethe barometer. Being offered is a Brass Ship Light- may be a Searchlight. Tag on the back of lamp says Lebby- The National Marine Lamp Co. This is an Old brass lamp- age unknown- has some dings and pitting on the body and the concave mirror in the back of lamp is cracked and about 25% of the mirror silver backing is flaked off. Mirror is labeled Corning Glass Works. See pictures. Weighs over 10 lbs- 9 1/2" diameter and about 10 1/2" long. Has 4 brass mounting bolts- 2 on each side that are included. Has cord attached(cord is frayed where it is attached to the lamp) for 110 volts and light bulb works- I'm guessing this is a retrofit and not the original lamping but not sure. Up for bid is an" Ankerlight Heavy Brass& Glass Nautical Lantern. This lantern is large and constructed very solid. It once burnt oil to light but was converted to electric at one point. Carbon build-up is still present on the inner cap and on the underside of the included snuffer. he lantern measures approx. 14.5" Tall by 8" Wide and weighs approx. 6 lbs. The glass globe is clear and very thick. It was converted to electric light at one point as evident by the electrical wire holes on the bottom and the switch hole on the backside. There is no electric work in it currently. The lantern is in very good condition with some tarnishing on the brass and some patina on the bottom rim and bottom as shown in pics. Rare Antique 1920's Perko Brass Ship's Fog Bell Marine Lamp Original Patina
Rare 1920's original 8" fog bell lamp marked on inside of bell. PERKO, Perkins M.S. Co. Bklyn, N.Y. 07-61" Since I couldn't find a similar Perko fog-bell-lamp form anywhere, I contacted the Perko Marine Lamp Corp in Miami Florida with photos of the lamp. They said that this was originally manufactured by Perkins in this lamp-form and that it is not a custom piece made outside the factory by an individual. In their library they found only a 1920 and a 1932 catalog. In the 1920 catalog, they found a lamp that had similar fittings. I believe the markings inside the bell date this lamp to sometime between 1922 when the"PERKO" trademark was created and 1932 when the company name was changed to Perko Marine Lamp and Hardware Corp. It has a well-aged patina. Height from bottom of base to top of eagle finial is 20" ... moreDiameter of bell is 8" Bell has a wonderful resonant. Distinctive fog bell sound. Lamp is in good working order. Not sure if the wiring has been changed at all- the electrical plug is the old-style with prongs of even width. Here is a great nautical set of large ship brass and copper lanterns for your buying consideration. Recently acquired them at an auction that a party's collection of marine/nautical items were being sold. We will have a number of these pieces for sale separately in our Ebay store. The lanterns would make a great gift or keep them for yourself. I would guess these lanterns are of pre-World War II vintage. The lamps were made by Yankee American Auto Lamp Co. They were in NY. Great set of port(red) and navigation(blue) metal and brass ship lanterns for your decor needs. The lanterns were probably electrified originally and are now electrified for home decor ... moreneeds. The lanterns still have the hanging rings on the top of them. The red lens lantern has a brass colored finish. The blue lens lantern has a nickel plated finish. The lenses in each one are glass and not cracked or blistered. Only exception is blue one which has a blister that runs about 1.5" across the top of it where it meets the metal of the lantern. The lantern cases are in good shape. They show some finish loss and some minor dings and dents. Each lantern is 6" tall. By 4.5" across, by 4.5" wide. The cords in the lanterns are older, but still look to be in usable condition. I would recommend you have the cords and wiring checked out by a professional look at before using them from a safety perspective. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. The elements have oxidized this light uniformly and evenly around to give it that perfect classic boat feel. The glass is yellowed and the chain still hangs from the loop. atop the welded o-ring. The oil holder still rests underneath the chamber. The wick needs replacement. The piece weighs 5 lbs. I purchased it at auction and am not in a position to test the lamp.
