You are bidding on a pair of antique nautical lanterns from Triplex. Pat 1910. This pair of boat lamps has one red and one rare BLUE lens. They are in very good condition. With some little issues. The glass is perfect. The housings themselves appear to maybe have been repainted black at some point. The fuel tanks are missing, as you can see they are basically just the housings. Peter Gray & Sons Ship Lantern with Red Fresnel Lens
This lantern is badged on the inside of the door"PETER GRAY& SONS. MANUFACTURERS, BOSTON MASS. The company used this name from about 1885- 1920, so presumably it was made during this time period. It stands about 13" high by 7" wide and 7" deep, not including the bracket on the back. The body of the lantern is steel, as is the burner except for its bottom which appears to be copper. It is complete, including the burner(the wick is even still there! and the mounting bracket on the back which clearly had fit into a mounting plate. Overall, it is in good condition, but here are the issues that I have found: The lens is chipped in four places. The worst of which is the dime-sized chip on the right side(shown in picture) There is also a chip from the edge of the lens on the top right and two in the lower left. The door does ... morenot close properly. I didn't wan't to mess with it and possibly cause further damage. I'll let the buyer make that decision! On the back. There is a crease about 4" long running beside the bracket- Slight surface rust here and there This belonged to my father and he told me that it is a ship's port lantern. While I cannot swear that this is accurate and that it is not a railroad lantern. My research seems to confirm that it looks most like a ship's lantern. I used an LED flashlight to take the picture with the light from the inside, but it does not really do the color justice. The lens is a beautiful ruby red.

Measures 14" to top of handle. Measures 10 1/2" to top of lamp. Not counting the handle, and is 7" in diameter. It has it's original red glass lens with 2 chips. Lantern has been electrified and has a cord with a switch on it, but the end has been cut off, so it will need to be rewired with a plug. It is about 9 inches tall and is 5.25 inches across at the bottom. There is no damage to the cord. The bolt top(nut) to a post is missing. It looks like a post has been replaced. Salvaged Perko 360 Degree Maritime Red Lens # 31A with Brass Base
Offering for sale a salvaged Perko 360 Degree Red Lens and Light with a Brass Base. The red lens is not cracked and has lots of life in it but could use someone who can polish it up and make it look new again. The"O Ring" that goes onto the base of the lens is included but really needs replacing since it seems pretty lifeless. But it does fit the lens. The brass base has a 1/2" FPT. Is pretty rough and needs a good polishing and more. The Perko Mfg. plate is still attached to the base but I can't read a thing on it. There are plier marks on the base exterior near the pipe thread where someone has previously used a big wrench to remove it or tighten it. The light socket. 12V needs replacing. It's still there and intact but I personally wouldn't trust it. If you've got a older boat that your restoring or need ... morereplacement parts this would be a good place to start. The overall approximate height of the base and lens is 6 1/2" The base itself measures 3 1/2" diameter and 2" high. Vintage Red Glass Fresnel Lens For Ship Light Or Lantern
This is for one vintage– antique red glass lens for a boat light. Ship light, shore light or lantern. It is in the shape of half of a cylinder. The lens is in the shape of a Fresnel lighthouse style lens. It is red glass through and through. Not just red on the surfaces. It is 7 3/8 inches tall and 7 7/8 inches wide at it's widest. It has an inside diameter of 6 9/16 inches. It has a molded in rabbit or stepped edge for mounting in the lantern on the top and bottom. On the top edge it has"Corning Made in U.S.A. molded in the glass. The side edges have grind marks from making it flat there. There are some small chips on the edges. There are no cracks or repairs on it. It came from Duluth, Minnesota. Duluth is at the west end of Lake Superior and has a large ocean going ship harbor. You are bidding on an Antique Vintage Domed Red Glass Lens Air Bubbles Boat Nautical Industrial Excellent. This lens is 3 1/4" in diameter on the bottom~~the inside diameter on the bottom is 2 1/2"~~the height is 3 1/2" This glass has survived quite well for it's age. The are no chips. Cracks or scratches. There are 2 chips on the flange which will never be seen. When this piece of glass was made, some specs were incorporated in the molten glass and those are the spots you see in my pics. I have no concept what this lens was used for. Antique ship light that has been wired to now be a working electric light. Mount to your dock to find your way home or to your boat for a cool look! Body is copper. May have had a thin brass coating at one time. 12" red glass lens is in great shape and is pebbled inside. Entire light measures 23" tall and is 15" front to back. There are three large clip hinges that hold the lens rim in place. At the top of the light you can see the two small stationary hinges(one is broken) so that the lens and trim ring can be lifted up but remain attached. Even though one of these is broken. The lens and trim ring are held securely by not only the remaining hinge but the three much larger ... moresnap hinges at the top and sides of the light. The light has an iron base with four big screws for mounting. There used to be a mercury glass reflector that fit the back of the light's interior. Only shards of it were left when I found this light. The gentlemen I purchased it from said his mother had aluminum foil inside for a reflector. She had it mounted on their boat dock and they used it to find their way home. The light has a long industrial electric cord on it and works great(see pics) Light has a great look! They don't make them like this anymore! I have not attempted to clean or polish the brass housing. But with a bit of elbow grease, it would probably shine up. Weighs 24 pounds unboxed. Antique PERKO lantern with a thick Ruby Red lens which has a tiny chip. The lantern measures approximately 10 1/2" high(not including the handle- 1 3/4" and 7" wide. It has little Christmas Tree vents at the top and at the posterior bottom. Hinged door opens to an interior ring. Interior burner is missing. The well known PERKO company has been making marine lanterns since the early 1900's in Brooklyn. NY. I have no idea how old this lantern is. Antique Perko Stern Lantern w/ Red Lens, vintage boat lamp, Nautical
Antique PERKO lantern. The screw-on cap looks to be brass and the rest of it appears to be galvanized. The red plastic lens has a piece broken off it in the upper corner. There is a bulb inside but the filament looks broken so it would have to be replaced when the wiring is fixed. There is a large dent in the back of the lamp. I think it could be pressed in an arbor press to look a lot better. There's some rust. Some dirt, some paint and that's how things go on ships. Vintage lantern would great in your collection. Here is a great vintage Perko port side ship lantern. It has a couple of dings and dents but still shows well. It also has a small chip in red lens at the top. RARE Antique Nautical Marine Oil Lantern-Three Bullseye Lens-Red-Green-Clear
This auction is for a rare nautical oil lantern or lamp form the mid to late 1800's. These lanterns were used on smaller vessels such as lighthouse service launches. Fishing boats, etc. It has 3 bullseye lens. Red, green, and clear. The lantern is made of galvanized tin. The round top is brass. The lantern is complete with the original font burner. There is a handle and a mounting bracket on the back. The wire door latch mechanism works well. The lantern is 8 1/4 inches in height.The lantern is in all original as found, uncleaned condition with great patina. No holes. Just a few minor rust spots but no pitting. There is a bend on one of the top corners, A gentle dent in the brass top. The red lens has 3 shallow edge chips as shown.No cracks. Overall a very nice and rare antique nautical lamp.
