Antique 1893 Royal B and H Railroad Bronze Brass Oil Lamp Lantern 120 YRS OLD
Up for sale is an Antique Bronze Royal Lantern. It is also marked B& H on the fill cap. Which I assume is for the Railroad. There isn't a globe with this. Nor handles, but it does have several early 1890's Pat. No on the cap and around the rim. It is in good condition with some green corrosion around the bottom and small dents in the body. It has scratches and other usage marks. But I don't see any cracks or holes. The coil springs on the inside need to be reset when a new wick is put in place. It is empty and untested. I see no holes in the metal and they appear solid. The lanterns are 22" tall not including the handle and are 14" wide- left side corner to right side corner. vtg R V Anchor brass ship's table lamp nautical maritime oil lantern light HTF
For auction is an old oil lamp. Very unusual one, I think. I have not been able to figure out too much about it. It has some age though. The bottom is weighted, which I was thinking might indicate that it was to be used on a boat or ship. The only marking is on the knob and it has an R and V on each side of a anchor. I have had this a few years in my basement bar. But changing themes and it is time to let it go. I am not sure it is functional, but the way it is made I would expect that it might be. Here is a brass oil lamp is marked but is written in German I think please see photos.the The lamp looks to be in very good condition. It may be off of a ship or train. It has a bracket to mount it to a bulkhead or a wall that is with it. Just mount the bracket to the bulkhead or wall and the lamp just slides into the bracket so it can removed to refuel the light. You can also just remove the burner and tank to refuel the lamp.The lamp is approximately 15" tall by 5 deep by 12 wide. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description. The flame is enclosed thereby protecting it from being extinguished by the wind. This anchor light came on our classic sailboat when we bought it. N ice old Perko Oil Lamp Font Part all brass made by Perko as shown on the bottom. I believe most of their Oil Lamps were made for boats/ships. In really nice condition. The burner says P& A MFG Waterbury Conn. It opens up as shown in pictures. Has a little screw that probably held in a shade. Great piece. TERMS: Payment is due within 3 days from end of Auction. Vintage Nautical Weighted Oil Lamp, Gimbal-Mount Brass Boat Lantern w/ Chimney
Antique Brass Ship's Oil Lantern. Looks like it was never used. Very nice condition; only one small dent in the wick assembly. And that can probably be pushed back from behind the guard very easily. There is no maker's mark or logo on the lamp. But there is an"RV" and an anchor on the wick turn knob. The glass chimney appears to be original to the lamp. Dimensions: 12 7/8" overall. 5 3/4" from back of mounting plate for the gimbal to the outside of the lamp. Chimney measures 6 7/8" in height and is 3 1/4" in diameter, the lamp body measures 7 1/2" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/4" total width including the gimbal mounting pins that project 3/8" from either side of the lamp body. Pat. 1890 Tarnished Brass Marine Oil Lamp Lantern Light, much rarer than Perko
Beautiful darkly tarnished 10" tall brass marine lantern with no stress cracks. See 360 degree images. Heavy glass globe is damage free and has 3/4" dimple cast in it as some sort of focusing device{see image with flame} Spring clips that retain the oil font have 1890 patent dates on them. Good working burner uniquely flips up for refilling. Bottom of font is dented and has a large solder repair on in but does not leak and rest correctly in lantern base. Beautiful display piece or rare design with a great patina. Quite heavy.
