I cannot find any others to compare it to on ebay and there are no markings on the light other than on the socket inside the lamp and on the side as shown are the letters P&O. I am not sure if this was a gas type light or not. Although it has a socket where a bulb or something would have fit but on the side of the light it looks like a flint or sparker. The light will need the chrome trim cleaned.Sorry I am not much help here, please see the pictures and maybe someone out there can tell me more. The works are mounted on a nice piece of oak and there are exposed wires etc on the back. It appears the glass is missing however the clip holder to hold the glass guard in is in the metal hood. The metal hood is hinged and has holes to let the heat escape. The light measures 11" long x 5" wide and weighs unpackaged 3-1/2 pounds.At the top of the light is a knob that can be turned to control the brightness i am guessing. Circa 1940 ceiling light with nautical theme. The glass globe has raised decorations around the side- sailing ships. Anchors, and a lighthouse; the bottom of the globe has a 16-point compass rose. The figural brass canopy is a ship's wheel. This fixture is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks in the glass globe; the brass canopy shows some tarnish and wear consistent with age and use. Here is a BEAUTY of an old VINTAGE/ANTIQUE PERKO ship/ boat running light. This is an ORIGINAL BRONZE or Brass not sure very heavy 6 pounds. This is a HUGE 10 inch long x 5 1/2 wide x 5 inch tall ORIGINAL PERKO. This has a clear glass and the GLASS is in MINT CONDITION Has a really nice PURPLE TINT TO THE GLASS FROM YEARS OUT ON THE WATER. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. The Bronze has a few chrome specs remaining in a couple of spots and a couple of faint very minor spots-scratches. There is a mark on the rim photo 6 and there are a couple of foundry pour marked when it was made photo 7. Has polished up very nice. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE STUNNER OF A PIECE from a time gone by. One side is a door that opens via a little latch. This lantern measures about 15" tall by 6 3/4" by 6 3/4" The brass has a beautiful, aged patina and the glass is free of any chips or cracks. Vintage The Portable Light Co. New York Nautical spotlight base solid brass?
Here's a vintage base/stand for a nautical search/spotlight made by The Portable Light Co. New York. It seems to be made almost entirely of chrome plated brass or copper. Though confusingly there are some signs of rust in certain areas and it is very faintly magnetic. My best guess is that a thin layer of iron was put over the copper or brass base before the chrome was applied to act as a bonding agent. Everything still rotates well and would be perfect for use if put with a fitting spotlight. There is some paint staining and copper oxidization present. Mostly on the conical base piece. The chrome plating on that area is also quite dull and faded. The base is also marked"STYLE/1-MILE-RAY" NO RESERVE. Please make sure you contact me if you have any questions. Measures about 16" high(including the handle) x 6" wide. Weight is 8 pounds. To help give an idea of scale. In the photos I put the light next to a regular size coffee cup. There are no markings on this light that I can find. There has been no cleaning or restoration done to this light, it has quite a bit of tarnish and natural patina. There is a small dent on the top but no other dents. One of the support braces has come loose(see photo#11) The wiring is ancient and not useable. One of the lenses has a crack that runs about a third of the way up the lens(see photo#12)there are no other cracks and no chips on either of the lenses. Antique Nautical AS IS Lantern Maritime Ships Light To Adapt Porch Light parts
This rough old survivor is a genuine stern lantern that hung out of doors for many years and the bottom rusted off. The glass is good and it has a great wrought hanging loop. It would adapt well as a hanging porch light(or similar) as the light would just shine out the bottom as well as the sides. It measures 18 ½” tall x 8” across and has some rust on the top at the base of the hangers and is spattered overall with white paint. 20" Crouse-Hinds Nautical Pendant Original Glass Explosion Proof Cage Light
Up for sale is a vintage Crouse-Hinds industrial/nautical cage light pendant lamp. It measures 20 inches long. Body diameter is 5 1/2 inches. Cord was not measured but appears to be well over 10 feet long. Glass is clean and free of chips or cracks. It is marked Crouse-Hinds along rim of the cage and along the glass. Cord is heavily frayed and metal has acquired a heavy patina. Piece was lightly cleaned before being photographed. You may wish to have it professionally cleaned or polished. I am not sure if this lamp is in working condition. For safety, I would advise you to consult an electrician about rewiring this lamp to meet current industry standards.
