I cannot find any others to compare it to on ebay and there are no markings on the light other than on the socket inside the lamp and on the side as shown are the letters P&O. I am not sure if this was a gas type light or not. Although it has a socket where a bulb or something would have fit but on the side of the light it looks like a flint or sparker. The light will need the chrome trim cleaned.Sorry I am not much help here, please see the pictures and maybe someone out there can tell me more. The works are mounted on a nice piece of oak and there are exposed wires etc on the back. It appears the glass is missing however the clip holder to hold the glass guard in is in the metal hood. The metal hood is hinged and has holes to let the heat escape. The light measures 11" long x 5" wide and weighs unpackaged 3-1/2 pounds.At the top of the light is a knob that can be turned to control the brightness i am guessing. I will combine items to save on shipping expenses, but please contact me for shipping rates as they vary depending on location, and the rates shown are only a ball park and apply only to Canada not including postal tax. Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This light was purchased at an estate sale where most of my other auction listing came from.I was told by the folks selling that this was a ships lamp or light and would have been in a cabin onboard a ship. I cannot find any others to compare it to on ebay and there are no markings on the light other than on the socket inside the lamp and on the side as shown are the letters P&O. I am not sure if this was a gas type light or not. Although it has a socket where a bulb or something would have fit but on the side of the light it looks like a flint or sparker. The light will need the chrome trim cleaned.Sorry I am not much help here, please see the pictures and maybe someone out there can tell me more. The works are mounted on a nice piece of oak and there are exposed wires etc on the back. It appears ... morethe glass is missing however the clip holder to hold the glass guard in is in the metal hood. The metal hood is hinged and has holes to let the heat escape. Antique Brass Nautical Light Ship Lantern This is a heavy(7-1/2lb. antique brass ship lantern. It is in good condition with the exception of several dents and a bent section of the guard. Please see photos. The internal lamp part is missing but a big 22oz Yankee Candle fits inside perfectly! Candle not included. The fixture is ventilated on top and bottom. It was designed for a flame burning oil lamp originally. The patina is nice. The glass lens is in great shape. The silver colored reflector inside is also in excellent condition. Antique PERKO Brass Adjustable Marine Spot Light Boat Search Light Nautical
This is a really cool old Perko marine spotlight or searchlight. It is solid brass and I think the light holder is a cast red brass. I couldn't find anything on the light that a magnet would stick too. It seems to be structurally in good condition. The brass could use cleaning and polishing as there's a lot of patina to the brass. The thin strip around the top and bottom of the light have some small slits. Maybe for fitting the brass around the body of the light. The light is also adjustable to be able to aim the light. The half label on the back is a Perko label. Heavy and well made. It has a GE bulb and I was told it works. The wiring is frayed and you should definitely have it checked out or rewired if you're planning on using it as a light though. See the pictures for more detail. This could have been a cargo lamp. Steaming l ight. Anchor light, or a stern light. Not really sure. Somewhere on it's journey it was electrified and has a bulb inside and the burner is not present. Up for auction is a antique bow light. I am unsure what boat this was off of but it was definitely removed from a boat here on long island. It appears to have a brass body and blue/ red glass. It does come with a wooden mount. The only issue with this light is it is chipped in the blue portion of the glass. Other then that it appears to be in nice shape. They are usually flat on the back. Ours is V shaped that fits in a corner with bracket pocket on the left. Its red fresnel glass lens was made by Perko with Mold No.35 on its side. Glass is in good condition with about 3 tiny. Tiny chips on the ribs of the glass that are hardly noticeable. Also has a few tiny paint specks, age& dirt. No cracks though. The light was originally used in the 1950s-1960s era.solid copper light with PRISTINE original all glass fresnel lens with NO chips or cracks. truly a remarkable shape light. The light weighs over 3 pounds. You can access the bulb area by unscrewing the cage. The cage and the globe unscrew as one piece on this design. The cage screw on and off with little effort.
