This is ... morea rare. Brass oil lantern manufactured in the early 1900's for use in finer staterooms. It is an absolutely beautiful antique in great condition. There are two small cracks(you can see them in the last two pictures) around the base of the lantern. Most likely caused by age. Also I had a hard time screwing together the lantern and the piece that connects to the wall. I think it could be easily replaced with another bolt. And it might even go together if it is forced. I was trying to be careful when I was putting it together. See the third to last picture to know the piece I am talking about. This lamp was manufactured by C. Gray Ship Chandlers Established 1882 Arbroyath. Scotland. You can see that information on the brass nameplate(see picture above) This lamp used to belong to my aunt’s great uncle and he bought it many many years ago in San Francisco. The lamp is very heavy! The burners are original with a double wick. The knobs are stamped"Duplex Made in England" It appears to be original and in working condition. The wick knobs turn. I have not attempted to put fuel in the lamp or light it. Because I do not know how and I do not want to mess it up! The lamps have not been polished because I wanted to keep it in its current condition and I liked the way they look! The clear glass chimney is in perfect condition. As you can see in the picture the green shade does not fit around the holder(it fits there just fine. But it does not go to the edge of the metal rim) so I do not know if it is just made that way or this is not the original shade. Either way it looks beautiful. I just want to make sure you can see that in the picture and you are given the best description possible! This item has been in storage near Mobile Bay, Alabama and previously belonged to my grandfather who worked at and retired from the shipyard in the early 1970's. The finds are sporadic at times, and not grouped or labelled. This lens sat alone wrapped in paper and reinforced with cloth electrical tape that had stiffened and lost its sticky. For sale is an Antique Japanese Nippon Sento Co. Ltd. Ships Brass Oil Signal Lamp Lantern. This is a very rare lantern I have never seen another one like it listed on Ebay. The lamp is in excellent condition as evident by the photos. It has a very nice patina on the outside and looks great as is. Or can easily be polished for a brilliant shine. The lamp has a wooden handle, and on the left side of the lamp is a thumb toggle switch that opens and closes an aperture behind the lens that allows the light to have the appearance of turning on and off. I'm no expert, but I believe the lamp was designed for semaphore which is a method of using light to visually communicate with another ship, or from ship to shore, and vice a versa. The toggle switch works smoothly, and the door opens and closes freely. Please closely review all of the photos ... morefor the material condition of the lamp. The lamp has the original oil/kerosene pot, but it is missing the glass chimney and possibly a reflector that may have fit in the small rectangular slot at the end of the pot. A replacement glass chimney can be easily found online. The lantern measures approximately 20" inches from the top of the handle to the base, and it is approximately 10 1/2" inches wide. Rare Vintage Ethan Allen Nautical Lantern Lamp
A rare vintage Ethan Allen featured nautical lamp. The beautiful lantern lamp has a flickering bulb in the lantern. And a 3 way light switch, which controls both the lamp and the lantern. On each side of the lantern is a railing with belaying pins, giving this lamp an authentic nautical look. The base of the lamp is 14" in length. 9.5" in width, and 2" in depth. The lamp stands 31" to the top of the harp where the shade sets. The shade measures 12" in diameter on top, 14" on the bottom, and is 12" in height. The wood on the lamp may have some scuffs marks or nicks, but it appears to be in great condition for it's age. This beautiful nautical lamp will definitely fit in with any decor.

NAUTICAL RED EMERGENCY SHIP LANTERN COPPER AND BRASS TABLE LAMP
Thank you for viewing this auction for is one. 1) brass and copper ship lamp converted to a table lamp. This is an old oil lamp that I believe served as a emergency light due to the red lens it has which shine 360 degrees. There are two thick heavy glass lenses on this light. The clear lens is the amplifying lens, and the inside lens is for giving the light the red color. This light is constructed of primarily copper and brass. There are also some iron components to this light, this includes the lens protectors and the two hanging brackets. The hanging brackets are used to not only hang the light vertically, but also to stabilize it from moving left to right, and front to back. There is no lamp inside of this lantern, it does no light up internally. This ship lantern appears to have been converted a long time ago; I believe at the very earliest ... moreit was made into a table lamp in the 1940’s. This is an older piece and I am unsure of the age. I am also unsure of a maker for this lamp for there are no maker marks I have been able to identify. Telling from its construction. There is a good chance this lantern is from a 19 th century ship. The condition of this lamp is old. There are multiple dents on this lantern. And appears to have been used heavily. This lamp no longer has its original oil burner, it was most likely discarded when it was converted to a table lamp. The mounting clips are still in place for accepting an oil burner. The red lens and clear reflector are intact with no cracks. The lamp is built to flex, so it does move and flex; the structure of the lamp is still sound. The lamp does work, and lights. I would suggest changing the cord if it is still desired to use as a table lamp; the cord is older, and the plug is not polarized. The copper and brass does have extensive corrosion and staining on it. Also there are a lot of dings and dents throughout. Vintage/Antique Ship's Brass Collectible Large Nautical working Lantern
Here is a Brass Boat Lantern Nautical. Vintage, Brass, Working, Large heavy duty. There is no name on it but the glass has VIM on it. The glass is special because it is thick glass and this is made so it is a much brighter light so you can much further away that regular glass. It weights approx. 6 3/4 lbs. by its self. Measures approx. 18" Tall( out handle it is about 14" tall) x 6 3/4" D. You unscrew the screw on top to open, lift the tank out by the lifter handles, unscrew wick, fill tank, screw wick back in place, put tanker back in place by the lifter handles and you are ready to go. Most of the time the lifter handles are missing. Only thing I see wrong not bad is a very small chip in glass(see last picture) Insurance will be required. Questions are welcomed. It has a bracket to mount it to a bulkhead or a wall that is with it. Just mount the bracket to the bulkhead or wall and the lamp just slides into the bracket so it can removed to refuel the light. The red signaled other ships that the Captain was not aboard-therefore a NOT UNDER COMMAND lantern. The clear chimney on the inner oil lamp is cracked but that glass can be replaced. The more important outer clear and inner red are nice. The line in the red glass is not a crack-it is lead that has run down the glass! There is no rust or damage to this beautiful and large lantern other than mentioned. This is one of the nicest I have seen! This lantern weighs over 7 pounds.Stands a bit over 13" tall and 16" with the handle up.It is about 7" wide at the base.

This large all-weather lantern was likely made for maritime use in the late 19th or early 20th century and held a single large candle protected behind five removable panes of glass that each measure 3 1/2" x 8" It is an unusually large and durable design that is typical of use in industry. The lantern stands 13 1/2" in height(17 1/2" with the wooden handle raised) and 7 7/16" in diameter at the base. It weighs 4 lbs, 12 oz. The metal is copper in color but is magnetic and so most likely tin. The hinged lid with a lockable clasp opens and closes smoothly, and reveals the interior black paint to be in very good condition. Sherwood Birmingham Nautical Lantern Lamp 12" Judging from other similar lamps/lanterns this appears to be a Nautical Lantern with some age. However. I can’t be sure how old this lantern is. The only mark to be found on/in the lantern is SHERWOOD BHAM on the turn knob. Since this company made both lantern burners and the lanterns, my assumption is the lantern is from that factory. The lantern still has an old wet wick in it, probably old kerosene, but it(the wick) will need to be replaced as it no longer raises and lowers. The knob turns, however. Height of the lantern is approximately 12” not including the bail, with the wire cage around the clear glass globe approx. 6” in diameter. The metal is probably copper or brass, but I can’t be sure. It exposes the inner lantern with chimney. This lantern can be removed by pulling up on the 2 brass handles in opposite corners. The wick is in good condition and can be used. In the main lantern housing. There are 4 panes of glass that fit into a track and are removable for cleaning. There are a few chips in the bottom of this glass but they do not show from the outside. Up for auction is AN ORIGINAL VERY OLD vintage solid galvanized metal nautical Ship Anchor Lantern. The classic anchor lamp used on sailing ships for hundreds of years. The anchor lamp is machined in pure heavy-gauge steel sheet. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for 20 nautical miles. The tops to the main body and the vent top are both hinged. Thus the top swings open for access and ease of cleaning. This all metal(except the frilled vent top, which is galvanized copper) is galvanized and shows its age. THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION. The anchor lamp is named for its use. For auction is an old oil lamp. Very unusual one, I think. I have not been able to figure out too much about it. It has some age though. The bottom is weighted, which I was thinking might indicate that it was to be used on a boat or ship. The only marking is on the knob and it has an R and V on each side of a anchor. I have had this a few years in my basement bar. But changing themes and it is time to let it go. I am not sure it is functional, but the way it is made I would expect that it might be. This auction is for 2 Vintage Seahorse Ship Lights. With no reserve. There are no burners in the lanterns, the auction includes what is shown. The lanterns show wear, have some paint drips, appear to have been repainted, have chips and scratches and can be seen in the eighteen(18) pictures below. I see no holes in the metal and they appear solid. The lanterns are 22" tall not including the handle and are 14" wide- left side corner to right side corner. The Port lantern is missing the"T" screw at the side bracket. The Starboard lantern has the"T" screw in the side bracket. The lenses have glare in my photos, I see no cracks or large scratches in the lenses. The lanterns will be shipped in two separate boxes. Excellent condition Rare antique copper and brass ships lantern from the south Texas coast. Lantern was made by the R. L. MURRAY& Co. LIMITED. Pollockshaws Rd, Glascow S. 1. Also marked LAMPADS NO. 260 on another plaque. 1 other plaque is marked NOT UNDER COMMAND and the plaque below it reads S.A.R- S.A.S. The main body measures 13 inches tall by 11 inches across. Has both an upper and lower arm to allow it to swing with the ships movement. It has been electrified several and light up with a soft amber glow as shown in picture. Cord has an on/off switch built into the line. Super conversation piece for that man cave. Has been lightly scratched around screw near top edge as shown. This is an antique nautical maritime copper lantern ceiling. Porch, or hallway light fixture. It was manufactured by the Metrolite Manufacturing Co. The only info I could find on this company was from the 1930s which is likely commensurate with the age and patina on this lantern fixture. It measures 15 inches long from ceiling canopy to base. The base diameter of the lantern is 6-1/4 inches. The interior"jelly jar" glass measures 4-3/4 inches long and 4-1/4 inches in diameter. No Reserve on this Antique Maritime Nautical Lamp. This is an oil or Kerosene Lamp. The top lifts open and inside the oil/kerosene and wick container; easily lifts out for refilling. The lamp is missing one of the round"brackets( There are two on one side and only one on the other. Also has been dented on the bottom on the rear side(see pictures) It stands perfectly and the dent does not effect the function. Actually it does not look to challenging to repair? The Lamp looks to be made of solid copper and has developed a rich patina, but being copper I am sure this can be polished to look like new if that fits your taste. Balloon Cage PERKO Red Maritime Kerosene LAMP Perkins Marine Nautical Lantern
It won't break my heart if I don't sell this item. I'll keep it and rig it up to become the coolest porch light in the neighborhood. A balloon cage ship's deck lamp made by the Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Corporation of Brooklyn. New York. This company is still going strong- a 5th generation family business now based in Florida and under the name of Perko Inc. Perko is also the product name of this item. This lamp is about 22 inches tall. And the diameter of the cage is about 14 inches. The red glass ball is slightly larger than a volleyball and slightly less than a basketball. The fuel canister is in working order- the wick rises and falls with the turn of the handle. the vessel doesn't look to have any leaks. Check the condition report and the photos for the problems this lamp has. Brass parts as well as the majority ... moreof the metal being perhaps a galvanized aluminum or thin steel. Two sets of two loops on either side of the lamp- I would assume the loops are there so the lamp can be mounted to something. This nifty vintage lantern could easily be converted to an electrical lamp if a buyer would choose to do so; or. Leave it original using some lamp oil to fill the canister and fuel the light. The lantern will be shipped in a large box, perhaps even oversized by UPS standards so don't let the shipping cost surprise you.

This lantern was made by Anchor and was given to me by and old man and friend he's 95 years old and can really use the money he told me he once sailed around the world in his younger days and used these four lanterns that are up for auction.
