Vintage National Marine Company combination bow lantern. We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this wonderful piece of vintage maritime/nautical hardware. This early style kerosene burner combination navigation light with Fresnel lenses made by the National Marine Lamp Co. of New York. This lamp was made prior to 1912 since after that date National Maritime were marked with a patent date of 1912 or used the trade name“Triplex” This is an early example since the company was founded in 1906. This lamp is most suitable for someone seeking this shielded design of which only a few have survived. It has a great deal of character and a wonderfully warm patina. This was used in conjunction with another one to signal to other ship captains that the ship was not moving and not under active command of anyone. This has a great patina! This has what appears to be the original light socket and looks to be in good condition- but I'm no expert. There was once another tag welded to the top of this lantern. But probably removed when the current tag was placed. The glass lense is not cracked and the red insert looks good as well. This is a vintage ship's lantern or lamp with a clear Fresnel lens. Seahorse GB. This lamp was electrified for use as decor in a seafood restaurant. The wiring will need to be replaced and it was just snipped off when removed from the restaurant. Genuinely old. The finish seems to be galvanized. Measures 24-1/2 inches high. Pair Vintage Copper Brass NEPTUNE NR Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical Maritime Cage NR
This auction is for a pair of vintage NEPTUNE NR copper and brass ship oil lamp lanterns. These lamps are in EXCELLENT estate found condition with a stunning and even patina. They are beautifully crafted from copper and brass and secured with a chain and hook in the front. These lanterns both have a badge at the top with the Neptune hallmark and NR. All of the glass is in beautiful condition(with the exception of some dust from being displayed) The globe inside is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The oil lamp inside is secured to a metal wire that stays in place by sliding down two opposing corners inside. And sits very securely inside with no wobble. I do not know the age of the lanterns, and have seen only a few similar, but most of then have all brass cages(die to the reddish tint I do believe this is mostly copper) ... moreor have been polished. None have been found also with this exact badge in the same place and this stunning copper patina with the reddish copper undertones that almost glow through. This has not been cleaned or polished, but I'm sure would polish up nicely if the buyer wishes to do so. Each lantern stands 15"high without handle, and 17 1/2" tall with handle, by approx 7"wide. Those would truly make an excellent display piece or addition to any collection. Please see pictures for more details and feel free to ask questions. RARE Vintage Lantern Light Buoy Piling Ship Anchor Dock Nautical Galv. Brass
Up for auction today is vintage nautical lantern. Different people call these types by such names as; buoy. Piling, master head, anchor, or dock lantern/ light. I am not sure of the proper name or use for this lantern. Can you inform me? It measures 17 ½” tall. The bottom is 8” in diameter, the top is 7 ½” in diameter, the lens is 4 ¾” tall(the exposed portion) and the lens is approx 5” in diameter. The lens is a dark ruby red and I see no cracks or chips. The body is galvanized metal with the rings. Latching hardware and the top ring of bottom portion being made of brass. There is a makers mark on the inside but some is missing and I cannot tell by what I can read who the maker is. Do you know? I assume that it was battery operated but there is no battery or wiring that is visible. I did not take the top portion apart and ... moredo not know if there is a bulb inside. The one photo that shows the lens bright was held up to the sun. The lantern is in good overall condition with some oxidation and rust as shown. Up for auction are 2 authentic vintage marine lanterns. MaxLumina marine lantern. Model ML-155,series B, Tideland Signal Corp, Houston. Great for nautical Decor. These were taken off the vessel operating on the intercoastal waterways. This auction includes the two lights shown in the pictures. The amber color light has a cracked lens on the lower lip. I have attached photos. This prevents the latch on that side from Locking but does not hinder the use or operation of ghe lantern. There are three latches on each light securing the lens. Rare Nautical Brass Lantern with Antler handle
I have a rare antique nautical lantern I'm told its from Chinese origin from whom I received it from. It is made of brass and can swivel( that keeps it level) from its antler handle. I don't see any markings on it but its obvious its an early lantern as the story goes the Chinese used it as a light on there fishing boats. The design allows one to carry/hold it or set it down as the antler having one spike on it and the flat of the lantern keeps it level. The brass shows some dents and wear marks but the antler is mint both showing wonderful patina. In great vintage condition! Measuring 11" long X lantern is 3 1/2" wide X 4" tall! This lantern was produced by Ahlemann& Schlatter. This company was founded in 1868. And was a pioneer in the nautical lighting industry fulfilling the higher technical demands of the time. They used innovations to further develop lighting technology and for over one hundred years. Ahlemann& Schlatter's products accompanied ships throughout the world. Bremen is a city in Northwestern Germany; a commercial and industrial city with a major port on the River Weser. Metallwarenfabrik is a German term for metal fabrication shop. The glass has a nice prism shape. Which will only enhance its attraction when illuminated. No matter how you choose to refurbish this lantern. Antique MARITIME NAUTICAL SHIP LANTERN Red Glass Copper & Brass
Up for bids is a great marine piece- an antique ship lantern. This nautical lantern is made of brass and copper metals and a beautiful piece of red onion glass. It has a sloped top which keeps water and rain from the inside of it. The red onion glass is encompassed by protective brass pieces which prevent it from being damaged when it swings. This lantern also has both the top pivoting brass hanger. AND the bottom one. I see very few of these lanterns that were made with these, and if so they no longer have the bottom one. At some point someone has removed the kerosene drum/holder and started the process of making this electrical. I have not attempted to complete this. It is fitted with a very simple bulb holder and a turning switch which still turns and clicks. This has in no means detracted from the beauty of this lantern and will make ... moreit simpler to electrify if someone chooses to do so. This lantern is in fantastic vintage condition. It has wear associated and common with its age but overall really nice! If someone chooses to polish this it will shine like new. The glass is in very good condition. It has some wear marks. Rough spots, or minor chipping on the rims/edges but no breaks. The wear is only from where it is fitted into the copper ends. These marks are not seen or noticable when the lantern is put together. The glass itself has some air bubbles but only visible upon close examination. The sloped top has several small dents in it. The two copper caps look very good and I do not see any dents or tears in them. The brass hangers and glass protectors have only age patina to them but otherwise perfect. The measurements of this lantern is 25 1/2" when hanging from the top of the hanging attachment to the tip of the bottom attachment. The glass is approx. 6 1/2" high by 8 1/2" around. I've taken this apart to show the insides of the pieces and the area where the electrical work was started. Also. When I ship it will come separated like this. The base is 6" tall. The sliding oil lamp section is unmarked- it does original to the lantern. It has the Neptune tag on the front. This is fresh from an old New England barn and will need cleaning- I have not attempted to clean this up at all. The glass globe has a flake of the bottom edge. For bidding is this very Antique/Vintage Ship Lantern with Brass Rods that are on angles and Clear Glass Globe that has one hairline crack[see pic] It is missing the bottom and could use a good cleaning. It has it's orignal Tag. Some surface rust on top. This lantern has been electrified. It measures approximately 17" tall x 8-1.2" diameter at bottom and weighs in at about 11lbs. Here is a Large Perko Marine Lamp Lantern. The Lantern is approx. 19” tall without including the handle and 10” in diameter and weighs over 16 lbs by itself. The Lantern has a brass label stating“Perkins Marine Lamp& HDWE Corp PERKO Reg Trademark Brooklyn. NY USA. The center Glass piece is marked Perko. The lantern comes with Original Oil Burner, Glass Chimney, and Paper Instructions. The lantern is in Fantastic Condition with No cracks, breaks or dents to the metal and No cracks to the center glass or chimney. Up for bid fresh from a local estate in this incredible Brass Ship's Kerosene or Oil Lantern with Green Glass by Starboard. This thing is LARGE! It measures 14" tall and 7" Diameter amd weighs about 5 lbs. Not sure if it is an original or reproduction. If it is a repro. It is a good one because it is highly detailed with cross bars and green glass(it has an outer pane of clear glass and an inner pane of green, it is not thick green glass) It also has a functioning oil lantern that can be taken out fron the bottom. It also has a heavy duty swivel handle, and what appears to be brackets that it could hang from the wall with. This would look great in your Nautical collection, don't let it get away! The back of the lantern is flat and has a mounting bracket that slides into a receiver(not included) A door on the back opens to access the brass kerosene lamp.
