And 11.5" tall excuding the wire handle. Cage and lantern are very straight with only a small amount of oxidation, and everthing appears to be in good useable shape. There is a chip on the bottom edge of the globe with pieces on each side of it glued back onto it. Even so A classic that's sure to be a great addition to any collection. Antique Brass kerosene Ships lantern R C Murray Glascow Nautical Marine
This auction is for an antique ships lantern with a makers label that reads R C Murray limited 37 Cavendish SI Glasgow. Which is in Scotland. This was a working lantern and has seen some use. It has been lovingly repaired and shows some tarnish. I have tried to show all this in the pictures. I have not attempted to clean it or change the batina. It stands 18" tall. It is missing one pane of glass which could be easily replaced. This is a very unique and collectible nautical item, very rare to find in this good condition because these lanterns were used at sea and exposed to salt conditions over long periods of time.
