You are bidding on the copper and brass cargo light shown in the ... moreabove photos. This light measures 28 inches tall and weighs about 45 pounds. The wide end with the glass measures 17 1/2 inches wide with the glass being right at 15 inches wide. The top mounting pipe we have installed is 10 inches long. You can make this light shorter by changing out this pipe with a shorter piece. Or you can make the light hang further down by adding a longer pipe. This pipe is common 1/2 inch black iron pipe you can buy at most hardware stores pre-threaded. We have used a hammered gold paint to give this iron pipe a matching brass look. The ceiling mount is 3 1/8 inches wide with four mount holes. This light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse Electric. Our newly installed lighting hardware is rated for any voltage under 250 volts, so normal house power is not an issue. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb with a wattage of less than 150 watts. Since the inside housing has very little space restrictions, you can even use the newer compact fluorescent bulbs, or a spot light with a common screw in base. Our wiring exits the center hole of the ceiling mount and we provide about 30 inches of extra wiring. When we find these lights. They are painted. We have removed the paint and polished the copper and brass. We do not try to polish our lights to the point they look new, so some buyers may spend some additional time doing additional polish work to get the light to your desired finish. Most people we have talked to hang our lights of this design with no additional polishing. The 8 closure nuts on the glass end of the light have been cleaned and oiled so they spin on and off with just a little effort. The glass on this light has some surface scratches. Up for bid fresh from a local estate in this incredible Brass Ship's Kerosene or Oil Lantern with Green Glass by Starboard. This thing is LARGE! It measures 14" tall and 7" Diameter amd weighs about 5 lbs. Not sure if it is an original or reproduction. If it is a repro. It is a good one because it is highly detailed with cross bars and green glass(it has an outer pane of clear glass and an inner pane of green, it is not thick green glass) It also has a functioning oil lantern that can be taken out fron the bottom. It also has a heavy duty swivel handle, and what appears to be brackets that it could hang from the wall with. This would look great in your Nautical collection, don't let it get away! Antique 1869 Scottish Clipper Ship Brass Nautical Lantern Kerosene/Oil Lamp-1255-Dumbarton Scotland I just purchased this nice antique piece at a local estate auction. It is is very good condition considering its age! It has a very nice patina to it and all of the glass is still intact. It also has all of the reflector plates on the inside lid. This is important because there are reproductions out there and they do not have the reflector plates. Reproductions also don't have the lead flaps at the tops of the glass panels to hold the glass in. The other thing to look for is the data plate. Reproductions are usually thin and cheesy looking. This lamp has the nice thick data plate. I did my research before buying this at the auction and am 100% confident that this is an original. Description: This is a large antique"birdcage" type oil lantern that was made between 1860 and 1890. It has a period Fresnel lens globe that is in good condition with a bit of chipping around the rim. But no cracks or structural damage. These brass lamps were re-produced by Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation but this one is an original 1800s light as shown by the beautifully decorated hanging ring at the top, careful handmade construction, etc. This one is also extra special in that it has the post fittings for use in a light house- it is missing the brass plate which would have marked it as such, but you can see where it used to be attached. These antique nautical lamps were used extensively for anchor lights, and after its life in a lighthouse it may have been used at the top of the mast during heavy fog or in the night to keep other ... moreships from running into the boat. It is missing the burner and bottom plate- it may have been wired for electric after the use of whale oil lamps declined, but please note that only what is in the pictures is included. This heavy and solid brass Masthead lantern is well suited for the boat house. Houseboat, lake house or beach condo. It would look great on the back deck or patio or the perfect complement to any nautical themed room. I found this at an Estate Sale and it was in pitiful shape. Covered in layers of dust and spilled paint and it was heavily tarnished. I have no idea how old it is but judging by the condition in which I found it, I would venture to guess that it is at least several decades old. I completely disassembled and spent over eight hours hand polishing it completely and thoroughly. Every nook and cranny. It is immaculate. I could hardly believe how well it turned out. I converted it to an electric lantern with a 12' cord with an inline switch. If you don't like the light bulb look you can easily remove the light socket and replace ... moreit with a candle or you can buy the lantern oil canister and wick and use it as an oil burning lamp. I think the electric is much cleaner. It is pictured illuminated with a 40W bulb. The silvered brass reflector really puts out the light, this would be best used with a dimmer switch or maybe even a 25W bulb. It is an impressive 14" tall without the handle and 6" wide. Heavy duty cast brass mounting hardware on the back. There are three very small pits in the finish in one small area. As seen in the close up picture. Vintage National Marine Lamp Co Lantern 17" tall Description Up for sale- a nice vintage/ antique brass and glass ship's lantern in excellent original condition. With a great unpolished patina. It is quite large at 17" tall, not including the handle. The dimensions are: 17" tall, 12" wide, 8" deep. The original glass is in great condition, with one small bb hole in the front, behind a cage bar, which I captured in one of the last photos. Manufactured by the National Marine Lamp Co, New York. This is a solid brass candle lantern with a little door that opens when the latch is slid up. It has holes through the top that look like a handle should go through and there may have been a piece of glass in the front at one time. The outer housing is copper& the interior is lined in brass. With a brass lamp. The top is hinged& clasped with a chained hook. The lamp lifts out on two brass arms that extend to the top of the lamp. The interior lamp is complete& functioning. All glass is fine& the lamp displays very nicely. There is some slight age greening to the copper& one small dent on the back of the frame. Next to the window. Vtg PERKO SHIPS NAUTICAL BOAT LANTERN LIGHT VERY HEAVY BRASS & THICK GLASS
This is a very thick brass nautical light made by Perko. The red glass is original& also very thick. It was rewired for household current& works. The wire is very short& bared at the end& has a cut in it. So it probably should be replaced. It stands 9 1/2" tall. It has two open threaded fittings(one on bottom& one on back) It also has a smaller hole that the new wiring was ran through. I'm not sure if it was on a ship or maybe even a bridge. It is heavy duty, I put it on a bathroom scale& it registered 10 pounds. The glass is still in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It was found in an old estate in northern Michigan right on Lake Huron, so it probably has some history. Unfortunately I do not know the history of it. The lantern appears to be made of mostly brass with the exception of the reflector piece. Glass and the heat distributor in the top. There is no makers mark on the piece that I can ascertain. Anchor Ships Lantern(Not a Reproduction) This is a very large antique ships lantern marked as"Anchor" To the best of my knowledge it has all parts needed to burn oil. Lamp measures a stately 23" to top of handle. 18" tall without handle and at its widest a 10" diameter. With the exception of a dent in the brass at the base the lantern is in excellent condition. Lantern inner chimney has a couple of chips and a crack at the bottom where it sits in base. This can be easily replace but I beleive that this one is original so I will not replace. The lantern stands about 11" and 5 1/4" wide. On the back is a key hole notch for hanging. The wick is still intact and the turn knob works. The glass chimney is about 10 1/4" tall and the base is 2" wide. On the chimney is written cristal Prima. There are some spots of tarnish and a small scuff in the front. Otherwise, in good condition. A brass"MASTHEAD" plaque surmounts the hood of this VINTAGE NAUTICAL LANTERN. It stands 14-1/2 inches tall. Not including handle. Features CURVED GLASS LENS and curved metal reflector plate, Sturdy brass mounting brackets on back- presumably for affixing to the mast of a sailing ship. Constructed of brass, glass, and brass plating over- judging from the tarnish- probably copper? This is most likely an older decorative reproduction. It's rendition is very faithful. And lantern is functional. The base unscrews to take a CANDLE- either one with a wide base, or a taper inserted into your own socket(no disrespect intended) OR. Antique Brass Nautical Ship's Lantern with Vintage Patina
Lamps are. For the most part, boring creatures. They are quite useful for reassuring yourself that there are, in fact, no murderous clowns hidden in your guest room, but when it comes to design, your standard, run of the mill lamp can be a bit yawn-inducing. Luckily, there are enterprising people out there that like to make lamps out of awesome things, hence how this Ship's Lamp was born. I am unsure whether this was once oil-burning, but regardless, electric is where it's at right now, due to the fact that we have it, however, once the zombie apocalypse happens, this lovely artifact will be rendered useless. Just plug this bad boy in to cast a warm glow across your room, and pretend that you are actually on a sailboat, or if you are lucky enough to OWN a boat, hey, why not stick it in there. Antique Nautical Brass Lantern With Green Glass Electrical
This is an Antique Nautical Brass Lantern with an electrical cord. It works! I don't know the age of this. But it is antique because of the cord and the plug. It measures 11 inches high with green glass over the bulb and it glows green. There is a brass flame at the top of it that I did not get in the picture. This is a very neat old piece. Antique Brass / Glass Marine Oil Lantern Case- Nice Nautical Decor
A nice old brass and glass oil lantern with a brass cage over glass design. This originally held a small brass oil lamp which I do not have. The lantern has all four sides. The side that opens does not have the original hinge. When at rest on a table the door stays shut just fine. The brass edge that held the hinge pin slips inside and. When you close the hasp, the door stays in place. You may want to put a hinge on it to get it to swing open like it is supposed to. Either way, perfectly serviceable as is. We use it outdoors with an outdoor candle and it has a nice nautical look. It has a wood and brass handle for carrying. Overall in good condition but could use a good polishing and a cleaning. The glass is all good but one small corner has some loss on the inside(see close up photo) Obviously there are some minor dings and bends in the ... morebrass. This is being sold as a decorative item only and not a rare collectible antique unless you want to restore it. It is 13 inches tall not including the handle and 15 1/2 inches counting the handle. Fresh from an estate nautical collection is a Red Glass Antique Brass Ship Lantern marked Kilborn-Sauer Co. Fairfield, Connecticut USA. This brass navigation lamp is in excellent condition for its age. No breaks or cracks, white marks on glass is reflection from camera light flash. Did not open up. Do not know what is inside. This vintage ship lantern Height is about 10" to top of ring, 8" without the ring, base is approx 4 3/4" wide. Please look at pictures for more accurate description. Aged Brass and Etched Glass Nautical Lamp Lantern Candle Holder
This belonged to my Uncle and he had it for roughly 30-40 years. He lived on the lake in upper Michigan. So that’s why I think it’s a nautical lamp. But I’m not really sure. The top opens and shuts, and the base turns to unlock and open. The last thing my Uncle had in the base was a 2-1/4" citronella insect repellent oil candle(shown in photo as an example. But I'm not including that in auction because it's old and dried up) The brass is aged and there is quite a bit of oxidation as you can see in the photos. I haven't attempted to clean it with soaps and solvents because I don’t know what I’m doing and could ruin it. Plus I know some people like the natural patina look. The patina blues on the bottom are gorgeous. It measures 9 ½” high. The etched designs in the glass globe are 8-pointed stars making a beautiful starburst ... moredesign. Made in India.

This is a pair of wonderful brass Wall Sconce ship lanterns. They have great patina and look like maybe some kind of spot light or directional light. The glass all appears to be intact and the hinges all work great. They both read hojalateria de H.S_ 211_ 1896 it’s hard to read it all they have been converted from oil. Or they are copies of original- I'm not an expert so I will leave that up to you to determine. They are each 22”T x 9”w front to back The post that goes into the holder is 4.3”t to top rim and 2.5”dia(the holder is not included you will need to have some kind of wall sconce bracket made. Vintage Caged Brass Nautical Oil Lantern
Vintage nautical oil lantern. It has a really cool cage that covers the entire outside of the lantern to protect the glass. There is a wooden handle and the oil container and wick assembly was made by Wedge. It has not been polished or cleaned up at all since I bought it so all the patina is still on it. It is about a foot tall and 4" wide. It has some good weight to it and is a nice vintage piece that could also easily be converted to electric if desired. Please contact me with any questions.
