The last wooden whaling ship, now preserved and exhibited at Mystic Seaport Museum. In the days before electricity. Light below a vessel's deck was limited to candles, oil and kerosene lamps. A clever solution for the light problem was the deck prism. Laid flush into the deck, the prism point drew light down below decks. This prism is an exact reproduction of Mystic Seaport's last remaining original Charles W. Morgan deck prism. It is about 4 1/2" tall and 4" wide. Maritime Tug Boat Ship Solid Brass Wall Industrial 6LB Antique 3pc Lighting Lamp
Overall this is 10 1/2" and the glass globe. Case and brass lamp do not show any damage. It is a wall mount and the round wall mount area is 6" across the center. The elder estate seller(100 miles north of NYC) said his Uncle lived in Brooklyn NY and owned a tug boat decades ago and this is from the old tug boat. It is very heavy weighing 6 pounds without packageing and box. It was very hard to read but the globe has letters and numbers that look like"9S4971-L" but not positive of the numbers as they are in lightly raised glass. The brasss cage or basket area has no breaks and it reads numbers that look like"24CGH" or something like that is raised brass. The case also reads"R&S CO. which stands for the Russell& Stoll co) There is no other writing anywhere on this 3 pc set so I have no idea how old ... morethis actually is but it is very industrial. It has an extended piece on the side but no knob to turn it on or off and it looks like it never had one and would have been wired and utilized with an on/off switch from the wall(just guessing on that) Thank you for your patience with me. This is a Vintage Nautical Ship Maritime Red Lens Electric Boat Lamp It does work. The red paint is chipping. The Brass housing for the lamp is not damaged. It is about 9 inches tall and is 5.25 inches across at the bottom. There is no damage to the cord. The bolt top(nut) to a post is missing. It looks like a post has been replaced. The solid brass base measures about 7.5" tall and 4" wide at the base.it features a handle that also can be mounted to a wall; an oval plaque on one side reading E.S. SORENSEN KOBENHAVN DANMARK.5842. It is incised on the bottom SCANTIME DENMARK. Additionally. It looks to have been in use and in good working order as far as the wick moving up and down. Large Anchor Brass Antique Nautical Maritime Boat Ship Oil Lantern Lamp 23" Tall
Anchor Ships Lantern(Not a Reproduction) This is a very large antique ships lantern marked as"Anchor" To the best of my knowledge it has all parts needed to burn oil. Please view pictures to augment my description. It is not electrified and it is NOT a reproduction. Lamp measures a stately 23" to top of handle. 18" tall without handle and at its widest a 10" diameter. With the exception of a dent in the brass at the base the lantern is in excellent condition. Lantern inner chimney has a couple of chips and a crack at the bottom where it sits in base. This can be easily replace but I beleive that this one is original so I will not replace. Awesome nautical historical item. I am not an expert on oil lanterns but will do my best to answer questions. This lamp came from an estate in lower Delaware near the beach. We purchased this wonderful lamp from a retired States Marine Lines employee. He had converted this lamp to a hanging lamp and another one into a outside post lamp. Nice patina! Up for auction is a pair of 2 antique Maritime passageway heavy brass/bronze ship lights with cobalt blue glass globes with sliding doors and a handle for hanging. There are doors that slide on the lamp to open and close the cobalt blue glass globe. The base is all heavy brass/bronze and has a threaded top with moveable handle. On the top of the lamp it has a threaded fitting marked. 9-S-5010-L Type XXII Size B. The threaded top of the light has 9-S-2108-L. There is a gasket with washer and light socket inside, so changing the bulb is very easy. The cobalt blue globe is very heavy, please check pictures and measures 4 ½” diameter x 5” long with rounded bottom. On the rim of the cobalt blue globe it has Type H 2034 L P.G. Co. There are no chips or cracks on the globe. Underneath on the top ring it has 2099-L-3 and on the bottom section ... moreis 2099-L-4. The heavy base contains the sliding door to open and close. The bottom panel also opens and closes. With handle up the lamp stands 11 ¼” tall and the base is 5 ½” diameter. Both lamps have the same numbers and are identical. Huge 22" copper Masthead Maritime Ship Lantern Oil burner nautical antique This is a big piece. Measuring 22" tall(not including handle) width of about 11" The piece is painted but as far as I can tell the most or possibly the entirety of the piece is made of copper. The lantern is a forward facing type with mounting rings on each side, an access door on the back an a top hatch that looks down into from the chimney above. Inside the back hatch, the burner assembly is on a track and is removable. It appears to be an oil/kerosene burner with a large reflector. The glass globe appears to be intact. There are three attached metal labels or tags on the front. I will try to decipher them for you, due to age and paint there are partially legible. For sale is a vintage/antique brass and copper maritime ship's lantern made by Anchor in England. It's in great shape. Obviously used and showing normal wear and tear with lots of patina. The lantern has been retrofitted with an electrical ceramic light socket although it does not come with a cord. Beautiful globe- would be a wonderful light fixture for any collector or nautical buff. Vintage 1950's Cattle HORNS Maritime SHIP with SAILS and LAMP Combo
This auction is for a very unique old piece of history of a maritime ship and lamp combo made of cattle corn. After some research. I believe it is from the 1950's. It measures in total approximately 11" tall x 18" wide x 5 3/4" wide. The sails are made from horn pieces, the main part of the boat is made from one horn and it sits on another part horn. The main horn is a little loose and needs tightening as it wabbles a little. though am not sure how it can be done. The base of the lamp sits on a wooden base. On the back of the ship there is what you would call a"LAMP SHADE" which looks like it is made out of fibreglass and has stitching all the way around it. Vintage Floodlight Westinghouse Nautical, Navy, Maritime, Ship light INDUSTRIAL
For your consideration is a very old Westinghouse Electronic MFG. Co. Floodlight. It is very heavy. It's on a stand and the light swivels up and down. A metal plate on the top front says that the watts are 200 and the Style is 1217420. There is a W on the top metal and also in the middle of the lens. I found one like this on Google and it is described as Vintage Nautical. Maritime Floodlight, Naval, Ship Light from around the 1940's. I know nothing about the history of the floodlight but would like to know more about it if anyone can tell me more. The cord is old and I did not test it. This item is large and heavy. I'm guessing it is cast iron and aluminum but not sure of the material. I have a pair of rare vintage brass Perko marine ship's lamps or lanterns. They used to be kerosene or oil but were converted to electric. They are in wonderful shape with no dents or damage and everything is intact. they do however have wear that is consistent with age. Each lantern has a finger lamp inside that is removable as shown in the pictures. A 4 inch reflector/ mirror, and 3 glass panels. Each is also stamped with a brass tag that reads" PERKO Manufacturer's Reg. Trademark Perkin's Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Miami Florida USA" on the front and another stamp on the back that reads the same thing. They both measure almost 14" tall. one being about 1/4" taller than the other one. vintage starboard/port maritime ship lantern set PERKO?
Purchased on ebay many years ago. Each lantern measures ~12.5 in tall(to top of ring) and ~8in across(at widest measurement) They are vintage and weathered. I am not sure of maker or age. But they look similar to Perko lanterns. The"Starboard" and"Port" wording are mostly gone, weathered away. Then lens of each is is good shape. The port lens, red, has someVERY minor superficial scratches in a small area, but no chips, cracks or other flaws that I can see. The starboard lens, green, has a few areas of"pits" but no obvious cracks or chips. The bottom pieces and burners of each are missing, as per the picture of one. Paypal only. Aldis Lantern Handheld Nautical Maritime Ship Signal Light Lamp 4 Inch
For your consideration today is a beautiful example of a 4 inch. Handheld Aldis lantern used as a ships' signal light. Included. Is an old custom made oak box with a missing handle/strap, an extra blue lens and connecting cable with brass fittings. The extra lens does have a crack as shown in the photo. I did look for identifying marks, but none were found. What looks like a nameplate on the side and another on the bottom of the unit, is rubbed clean evidently from years of use. Although I don't have a power source to test this lamp. When I depress the switch, I get a good continuity reading on my ohmmeter, and when released, it shows none. This tells me that the cable, switch and lamp are still good. The signaling trigger appears to work, as when it is pulled, the mirror does pivot slightly up and down. The areoscope(telescopic sight) ... moreis clear and the sighting cross-hairs are crisp and visible. All-in-all, for its age, this wonderful piece of maritime history is in good condition. Antique ANKERLICHT Nautical Maritime Anchor Light/Ship Lantern Age unknown but believed to be circa 1920's. This is wired for electricity but I don't know if it is original wiring or was rewired or what. To be honest. I haven't plugged it in to test whether it works or not. Either. Because I am just a little scared to do so! I don't see why it wouldn't work but again, I am not 100% sure that it does. It stands a little over 14 in. tall and the base is almost 7 in. across. An original solid brass oil lantern made by BULPITT& SONS BIRMINGHAM 1940 Embossed on the chimney of the lantern. F ully functional. Heavy gauge brass lantern complete with all its original parts. Used aboard a ship as a bulkhead. Cabin/wardroom lamp. Stands 16" high. 20" high with the handle upright, 8 1/2" wide x 6" deep. The unit has a three sided glass face. With a right side access door. The burner is made to come out to fill. It also has a key that the wick can be put up or down without opening the door. The chimney also opens up the top section for cleaning or service. Here's a great old Dietz marine lantern in excellent condition. See Condition. From my research I believe it's circa 1917-1918. It's a dark lantern. With a brass sheath that pulls up to protect the glass. The sheath has numerous cracks around it(as most do) and is difficult to push back down(thus, no photos of it) Size is 11 1/4" tall x about 6 3/4" across the bottom. Aside from a few minor dings I can't find any fault with this lantern. If you know old lanterns, you'll most likely conclude, as I did, that it has much less wear than one would expect. Antique Brass Ship's Light Contains correct and highly sought after cobalt blue globe. A rare find. Cord including on/off switch is in good shape. Works as it should. Globe has chip to the lip that sits between the housing and lid. This chip is not visible when lid is on and light is lit. Both sliding doors(front/bottom) are present which makes this an even rarer find. It stands 12 inches high with about a 6 inch diameter. During the days of televisions inside decorative cabinets that also served as an elegant piece of furnature. Sat on top of gramp's beloved American made Magnavox tube television long before the days of wall-mounted LCD's. Measures 12 1/2" tall x 11" long x 2 3/4" wide at widest point(base) Weighs almost 2 lbs. Lamp is in good working condition. Newer electrical wiring/cord. Uses a Christmas light bulb. Which unscrews from the back for replacement. Currently features a blue bulb. I have no idea how old the bulb might be or how much longer it will work before replacement.
