Up for sale is a very old Nautical Maritime Navigation Brass PORT Lantern/Light. Let me start by saying I do not know what I have here; it is old. Weathered and has some rust and oxidizing on the lantern. The top hanging part is loose as screws not secure in the back of it. I believe it is copper and or brass. I do not see any name on the lantern. There are no dents on the lantern. Front screw opening. The front has the word PORT. The light is heavy red glass. Not plastic. This is an old lantern. I do not know where it was used. It has old paint and surface rust. It is about 5“ wide and 6” deep. With the handle up it is about 14” The top cap is 3 ½” in diameter. The side has a slide plate for inside access. There is a small glass window on the back. The front flat glass is 5“ in diameter. It has some deposits on the inside. I do not know if it needs a kerosene holder or work with a candle. Neither are included. It is for display and non-operating. As always since 2001. Offered for sale is this old antique Maritime Ship Lantern for restoration or parts. I do not know who the maker was but it has a strong resemblance to some of the Perko Lamps that I am seeing on Ebay. It stands just under 15" tall. 7 1/2" wide and 7" deep. The ribbed glass is in good overall condition showing no cracks but could use a good cleaning. The original kerosene burner and font is missing and the lamp has been converted to electricity, but it does need to be re-wired as the wiring is old. This is a great candidate for restoration or to be used as parts. The bottom panel is hinged but is missing the slide rod to keep it closed which should be an easy fix. It is a rather heavy lantern weighing just over 6 pounds.
