The original manufacturer was Wilcox& Crittenden& Co. There trademark was Capital W with a Capital C embossed on top of one another. The factory was in Middletown, CONN. USA. There is a photo of the Logo which appears to be embossed on brass, it is on the side, located on top of a metal sleeve, which is riveted on the lantern itself. This sleeve must have been used to slip over something to hold it secure to the ship. Both sleeves are intact and extremely secure. This embossing is very difficult to capture in a photo as the glare, and clarity of a photo so close. The lanterns stand just shy of 13" tall with the hanging loop standing up. They are made to fit in a corner. The sides measure 5" With the front curving around to meet the 2 sides. The glass itself is 5" tall and is almost 90 degrees. One lantern has fresnel green glass for the starboard, and the lantern with the fresnel red glass is for the port. The glass on both lanterns is in very good shape and have no cracks or chips. The metal round accesses to the oil chambers/wicks are both present and appear tight when screwed in. The wick chambers need cleaning, but seem to work, and even have wick left in them! We didn't attempt to light them, but knowing something about oil lanterns, don't see any reason they wouldn't work, however this isn't a guarantee. just presenting things honestly. The metal. Nowhere, on either lantern shows any sign of rust. However they are a brown color. Paint appears to be old, in some places chipping, or peeling off. There are the usual signs of true usage. Wear and tear. Overall appear to be in very good shape. I have not checked them for leakage, however on inspection, I don't see any reason they would leak. I have no idea how old they are. Antique Tung Woo Masthead Maritime Lantern nautical brass copper working lantern
Antique Tung Woo Hong Kong Masthead in excellent condition. Measures approximately 8-3/4" in height x 6" in width including the brass hardware on both sides. Beautiful piece with antique hand blown clear glass. Based on the patina I am convinced that this piece was indeed exposed to the elements and was at one time attached to a working vessel. This is the real deal not a pristine shiny knock-off.

This auction is for a Antique Neptune maritime Nautical lantern light with oil lamp.This is missing the panel of glass that is where the latch side is. The total height is 15" tall. The base is 6" tall. The sliding oil lamp section is unmarked- it does original to the lantern. It has the Neptune tag on the front. This is fresh from an old New England barn and will need cleaning- I have not attempted to clean this up at all. The glass globe has a flake of the bottom edge. It looks to be the original but I am not 100% sure of that.One of the cage bars is slightly indented. I think this is copper(magnet does not adhrere to it) Thank you. It measures 14" tall and 7" Diameter amd weighs about 5 lbs. Not sure if it is an original or reproduction. If it is a repro. It is a good one because it is highly detailed with cross bars and green glass(it has an outer pane of clear glass and an inner pane of green, it is not thick green glass) It also has a functioning oil lantern that can be taken out fron the bottom. The lamp is complete with the inside oil lamp with original chimney and reflector. The lamp stands approx 18-3/4" to the top handle and approx 16-1/2" to the top of the lamps upper section. It weighs approx 9 1/2 lbs and the bracket approx 3 lbs +. It is in Good as found original condition- normal general wear but no real issues. Some light surface rust that will clean off. It is approximately 13" tall and the globe has a 8" diameter. According to an expert's research. This was most certainly made by" Perko" the Perkins Lamp Company. Brooklyn, NY. It likely dates to the first quarter of the 1900s. The glass bulb looks like it may be a later replacement as it doesn't have the original"Perko" embossed onto the bulb. There is some minor evidence of resoldering, likely when the bulb was replaced. The bulb is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. Measuring 22" tall(not including handle) width of about 11" The piece is painted but as far as I can tell the most or possibly the entirety of the piece is made of copper. The lantern is a forward facing type with mounting rings on each side, an access door on the back an a top hatch that looks down into from the chimney above. Inside the back hatch, the burner assembly is on a track and is removable. It appears to be an oil/kerosene burner with a large reflector. The glass globe appears to be intact. There are three attached metal labels or tags on the front. I will try to decipher them for you, due to age and paint there are partially legible. This strange globe came attached loosely to an Dietz#6 New York Central bellbottom Lantern. I had no clue what it was; It sat in a box with other orphan lantern parts. I really thought it might be a cut down mayonnaise jar. I was reading an online article about marine brass or galvanized lanterns and noticed a duplicate to this. I now realize that this is a globe for a marine dark or deck lantern. It's probably made of Pyrex glass by Corning for lanterns that are subject to exposure to cold seawater when lighted. I suspect that there are serious collectors that can tell much more as to age and original applications. There don't seem to be any serious nicks or flaws and the overall condition is described as very good.
