This is an Ouvrard& Villars Nautical Anchor lamp; Beautiful condition, it is constructed of hammered copper with a dual-ring brass cage. Original ruby flashed red globe. Marked O V Depose on the copper. May very well have come from one of the Ironclad Steam Battleships on the Black Sea, I purchased this lantern from the estate of a very meticulous and discriminating lamp collector. This piece has undergone a no-harm electrification. Which can easily be removed. The original oil burner is wired to the underside of the chimney. The original font is in place. The bottom of the font has been painted on the underside. I can't guarantee the font won't leak, but I suspect(but can't confirm) it was painted to stop any rust. You are bidding on a lantern. I really do not know if it is marine or railroad. It is unmarked but is very similar to a Perkins lantern. It measures approx. 10.5" tall including loop on the top and 8" across with lenses sticking out on sides. The measurements across the backside is 5.5" Has an unusual sliding pin latch closure. Here's a neat vintage item with red glass on one side and green on the other.no chips. I believe it is brass. see photos for a better condition insight. It is dented on back of lamp and missing one screw. it appears to be adjustable. I have not truly cleaned this item. The base is almost 4 1/2" in diameter and is stamped. I believe, SGJ. Vintage Boat Port Starboard Running Marker Lights NFL CO Nautical Marine Lamps
4-3/4" tall by 3-1/2" front to back or 4-1/2" diagonally. A wonderful set of lights in excellent condition with natural patina. The lenses are embossed with initials of the maker. Which was the National Marine Lamp Co. No dents, no heavy corrosion. The green oxidation on them could easily be removed leaving them with the beautiful patina, or the could be polished up to a brilliant brass like original. The fittings have surface oxidation, but are in excellent condition. The green lens has a small inconspicuous chip on one of the ribs near an edge as seen in last photo#12. There is old masking tape residue on the backs and bottoms. The previous owner put tape on a lot of things to protect from contact with other materials. These can be easily rewired. Antique Brass kerosene Ships lantern R C Murray Glascow Nautical Marine
This auction is for an antique ships lantern with a makers label that reads R C Murray limited 37 Cavendish SI Glasgow. Which is in Scotland. This was a working lantern and has seen some use. It has been lovingly repaired and shows some tarnish. I have tried to show all this in the pictures. I have not attempted to clean it or change the batina. It stands 18" tall. It is missing one pane of glass which could be easily replaced. This is a very unique and collectible nautical item, very rare to find in this good condition because these lanterns were used at sea and exposed to salt conditions over long periods of time.

Antique Perkins Marine Lamp Great Nautical Lantern Red Globe Copper Rare! Look!
Offered with no reserve. A rare Perkins Marine Lamp. This is made by the Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Company of Brooklyn New York. Has a small brass ID tag just under the toggle switch. See picture#3. The lamp stands 15" tall and is 7" in diameter at the base. Copper construction. Features 2 tie down hooks at the base. Also has hook on the top cover. There are several metal"arms" that protect the globe. One of these is missing the top screw. See second to last picture. This is a dry cell battery operated lamp. It appears the necessary wires are in place. See pics#6.7,8, cannot guarantee the lamp will light and it was not tested) There is a on/off toggle switch just above the ID tag that has a screw on"cover nut" attached to a chain. See pics#3 and 4. Vintage Copper PERKO Nautical Ship Lantern Electrical Marine Light Gulf Oil
This 16 1/4" tall electric lantern with an all original patina and toggle switch is from the estate of Howard Craven. He was a ship captain for the Gulf Oil Company until he retired in the early 1950's. When he then took up painting ships with oil on canvas. His father was also a ship captain, so I'm not sure which one used this lantern. It is all copper than I can see. It would be beautiful polished up, but I chose to leave it as is for those of you that would prefer it in it's original condition. It has what looks like original inner parts, wires, etc. see pictures) I have not tested to see if it works. I prefer not to challenge things like this since I know nothing of how they work.
