The porcelain shade is 12 inches wide. When the light is mounted to the ceiling, it will extend down about 9 inches. This light weighs about 6 1/2 pounds. To access the bulb area, you spin off the brass cage and the glass globe. We have installed a new bulb holder and wiring in each light that is UL-Listed and made by Westinghouse Electric. The bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 50 watts or less. Wired to work with any voltage under 250 volts. Unlike many of these lanterns this one still has the original Perko lamp inside as shown in pictures. The sliding hatch mechanism still works on this piece. It was used as a display piece in the house and they had a screw in the base of the signal to hold the sliding hatch open. This is the most complete piece of this kind that we have seen on eBay and a great addition to all maritime collectors. VINTAGE BRASS CAGE for Caged Deck/Ships Light from retired Staten Island Ferry
For those with the nostalgia of the old days and New York City here is a piece of it- from one of the Staten Island Ferry boats that was dismantled for scrap near St. George. They were selling items before sending the rest to the smelter. I purchase one of the deck lights with the large metal enameled shades and the lamp inside a glass enclosure. To protect the glass there was a brass cage over the glass. This light hung in our Vermont driveway for over 20 years and worked just fine through storm and snow. Then one of the trees used to support the suspension cable came down in a storm. Bent e shade and broke th glass but the cage remained without an added scratch. That's all that's left of it now and it is time for someone else to have it fotw a show piece. It's brass and the mounting is threaded. This is an old bronze Perko bow light we found at a local estate sale. It measures 7+7/8 inches long. 4+3/4 inches wide and 3+3/4 inches tall. This one is in used condition. It needs rewiring and has no guts whatsoever. It has a small crack in the bronze on the front of the light and the plug on the back is missing. The lenses are perfect with no chips or cracks. WW2 Naval Ship Brass Light
Description This is a stunning piece of naval history. This naval brass light structure dates back to circa 1940's. There is a light bulb and glass cover at the bottom. At the other end there is an arrow engrave into the brass with the word"Top" This table came from the estate of an avid maritime and nautical antiques collector. I will be listing various items from this estate over the coming weeks. Measurements Measurements: 29" long(4" diameter) Condition In great condition. It has been varnished and has a stunning structure with original plaque from USS Los Angeles. The legs are brass. Antique 1800s Nautical Post Lantern Lighthouse Lamp Ship Mast Anchor Light Brass
Description: This is a large antique"birdcage" type oil lantern that was made between 1860 and 1890. It has a period Fresnel lens globe that is in good condition with a bit of chipping around the rim. But no cracks or structural damage. These brass lamps were re-produced by Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation but this one is an original 1800s light as shown by the beautifully decorated hanging ring at the top, careful handmade construction, etc. This one is also extra special in that it has the post fittings for use in a light house- it is missing the brass plate which would have marked it as such, but you can see where it used to be attached. These antique nautical lamps were used extensively for anchor lights, and after its life in a lighthouse it may have been used at the top of the mast during heavy fog or in the night to keep other ... moreships from running into the boat. It is missing the burner and bottom plate- it may have been wired for electric after the use of whale oil lamps declined, but please note that only what is in the pictures is included. This is a large nautical lantern measuring 14" tall and 6" wide. It is in"as found" condition with a dark patina on the brass, dirty glass, small dents, tiny cracks in the brass, and various other age/use related marks. He couldn't remember now long ago but he said'decades' I looks on eBay for information and found it was made by Russell& Stoll Co. It is 10 1/2" over all the the wall/boat mount area is a circle that is 6" across the center. It is very heavy at 6 pounds without packageing materials/box. It is in 3 pieces. The case that screws in over the light globe. The glass globe which also screws in and the back that the globe and case both screw into. The glass globe reads in raised glass"P C. CO. and also has a number too that reads"9-S-4971-L" and the globe has no broken glass at all. It is thick and domed. This is a Green lensed Vintage Perko De-Lite Starboard kerosene Brass Nautical Light.Was manufactured in Brooklyn, N.Y. It includes the kerosene Lamp Light container, but is missing the interior reflector,and does have a 1/2 inch occlusion in the lense. The two end lights are original cast brass nautical lights that we added the brass deflector covers to. The deflector covers are 8 inches wide and 4 inches tall. When mounted to the ceiling. This light will hang down about 15 inches. Measuring from outside edge of one light to the outside of the other light, this light measures 34 inches long. The ceiling mount is 2 3/4 inches wide and has four mount holes. Total weight is about 16 pounds. If you want to change the distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the lights, all you need to do is add a longer pipe that connects the light to ... morethe ceiling. The pipes are 3/8 inch cast iron plumbing pipes you can find at any hardware store. The cast iron pipes have been spray painted a color very close to a brass look. Both lights have all new wiring and bulb holders that are UL-Listed and made by Westinghouse. All the wiring comes thru the pipe and exits from the center of the ceiling mount. I have added about 24 inches of extra wire to make your connection. The new bulb holders take normal screw in house bulbs and I recommend 65 watts or less bulb. Vtg PERKO SHIPS NAUTICAL BOAT LANTERN LIGHT VERY HEAVY BRASS & THICK GLASS
This is a very thick brass nautical light made by Perko. The red glass is original& also very thick. It was rewired for household current& works. The wire is very short& bared at the end& has a cut in it. So it probably should be replaced. It stands 9 1/2" tall. It has two open threaded fittings(one on bottom& one on back) It also has a smaller hole that the new wiring was ran through. I'm not sure if it was on a ship or maybe even a bridge. It is heavy duty, I put it on a bathroom scale& it registered 10 pounds. The glass is still in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It was found in an old estate in northern Michigan right on Lake Huron, so it probably has some history. Unfortunately I do not know the history of it. This is a brass spot light off of a Columbia River Gillnet boat that is very unique as it is a vintage 12 volt light that is very rare. The lens says'Per Lux 200T' it belonged to a friend of mine who could not tell me the vintage only that it was"OLD" He has used it for many years long ago on his commercial fishing vessel. From an estate sale is this very unique Antique Vtg Brass Wall Mounted Oil or Kerosene Lamp. It measures 15" tall and is about 5" at its widest. The two glass window panes are intact and there is a panel that you open to access the wick of the lamp. The wick does move up and down ... moresmoothly and you remove the top to access the oil reservoir. There are no dents in the brass or damage just normal wear as seen in photos. You simply mount the round brass circle to the wall and slip the oil lantern into it. You are bidding on the vintage cast brass Ship's nautical passageway ceiling light shown in the above photos. This light measure about 10 inches tall and about 4 inches wide. The base has three mount holes that are about 2 1/2 inches off the center of the light. The globe is glass and in good condition. The light weighs almost 5 pounds. You can access the bulb area by unscrewing the cage and then unscrewing the glass globe. The glass is undamaged. But could use some additional cleaning. The cage and the glass globe screw on and off with little effort. This light has been totally rewired with all new UL-Listed parts rated for any voltage of 250 ... morevolts or less. The new bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 100 watts or less. The new wires exit from the new hole we drilled on the bottom of the light, and the original conduit holes have been plugged with copper caps. These lights were recovered from one of our many salvage operations. These lights will have some minor wear that may include bending to the cage ribs. While we have removed most of the original paint and polished the light, some buyer may want to do additional polishing work. This light can be used inside or outside. It will never rust! Reclaimed Original Brass Nautical Passageway Light With Deflector Cover C4
Google the name"big ship salvage" and you will learn more about who we are! You are bidding on the reclaimed brass nautical light shown in the above photos. We started out with a common original cast ship's brass passageway light and transformed it into this outstanding ceiling light. The first step was to soda blast several layers of paid from the original light. We then added the 8 inch stamped brass deflector cover with rolled edges. The original side entry conduit holes on the top housing have been plugged with a threaded brass caps and a new exit hole for the wiring was drilled in the center of the top housing. We have installed a new bulb holder and wiring that was supplied by Westinghouse Electric. All of the new electrical parts are UL-Listed. And rated for any power source under 250 volts. The bulb holder takes a normal ... morescrew in house bulb. We recommend using a bulb size of 60 watts or less in this light design. The new wiring exits the top of the light so all the wiring will be hidden once the light is mounted to the ceiling. The light has two mount legs with the two mount holes measuring 3 1/2 inches on center of each other. To access the bulb, the brass cage and glass globe spin on and off as one piece. The glass is undamaged. When mounted to the ceiling, this light will extend down about 7 inches. Each light weighs about 3 1/2 pounds. This is a great 1950's reclaimed vintage nautical light that can give your project a one of a kind nautical look. PAIR BRASS HANGING SHIPS LANTERN LIGHT LAMP EARLY ELECTRIC BIG AND HEAVY BOAT
ok here today we have 2 early electric large heavy brass ships lanterns. please I am not an expert on maritime so if i make any errors let me know. these stand 14 inches to the top of the handle and almost 11 inches when the handle is down. the diameter of the base is 7 1/4 and the height of the actual glass globe inside is 5 3/4 inches and the diameter of the globe is 4 inches the op cap is held on with 4 thumb screws most of which are good. a couple have some thread loss and do not grip well. one lantern has an additional screw on piece on the top of the cap to accept the electric line. the bottom has a hinged cover with glass insert. unknown if it is original. each lantern has a small hinge on the bottom so you can open and close the hatch to change bulbs. one hinge is missing 1 screw.the othe issue is the handle is broken off on 1 lantern ... morebut i do have it and it can be welded back on. please look at the photos and ask me questions.if you need a specific photo of any part let me know. I did show photos of the broken off handle the mechanism still functions just need to reattach the handle. the shade is 2 part mold glass clear and free of any damage.there are no markings that would help me identify the manufacturer or ship. they will be shipped separately and the total shipping is 45 dollars' No international sales, I go to great lengths to call all issues even some that really are not,so that we are all on the same page when looking at these lanterns

It weighs a little over 12 pounds. I'm not sure if it's copper or brass. It's also very LARGE. It measures about 13 1/2" tall, 13 3/4" wide and is approximately 9 1/2" deep from each corner to the back. It was a originally a kerosene or oil ship's lantern. It's an amazing light! It's in excellent working condition, it's been newly re-wired& has an antique switch in the front(converted to electric) The switch is turned to right each time you want to turn it off or no. It has a removable red port glass(see photos of it turned on, with and without the red glass) The clear glass has a small 1/2" chip in one of the ... moreribbed sections; it's a very heavy thick glass so this does not compromise anything. Near the top of the lamp there's an emblem that has the numbers"3883" There is also some etching on both the clear and red glass. I wonder if this belonged to a military ship. As most items on those ships were marked with serial#s etc. The writing on each glass piece says"DHJE 3883, No. 654, E.31.5.61" It's not very noticable and you can't see it unless you really look; it's not seen when the light is on. Condition wise.it's vintage! There are a few dings& dents. Some areas of wear etc.but considering it was a ship light, it's going to have a weathered old look, which I personally prefer.
