Here we have a very large ship or boat lamp or lantern marked"Anchor" This estate found lantern is made from solid brass which has been lacquered. Although the lacquer is crazing from age. It still displays very nicely. The center cap in the top flips up and it also opens at the base of the top as well. There is an oil lamp inside that does have the wick. In the center there is a very thick ribbed glass lens that has no cracks. There is a brass anchor hook on the top and the bottom. No dents, nice vintage condition. Very large, the lamp itself measures an impressive 18 1/2" tall not including the anchor hooks at the top and bottom. Diameter is about 9 3/4" This sizable lamp displays nicely. Rare Vintage lamp Brass Nautical / Train Light Oil Lantern / kerosene Lamp
Here is a brass oil lamp is marked but is written in German I think please see photos.the The lamp looks to be in very good condition. It may be off of a ship or train. It has a bracket to mount it to a bulkhead or a wall that is with it. Just mount the bracket to the bulkhead or wall and the lamp just slides into the bracket so it can removed to refuel the light. The Roflar Navy Battle lantern was/is used on Navy and Coast Guard ships and boats. These lantern are made study for battle conditions. This lantern has been tested and works. Please look at the pictures. These lanterns take 1 standard 6 volt house hold battery which can be purchased at any home improvement or hardware store-battery goes on the right hand(USN) side. Item show standard wear and tear for a military used item. But it is in very good condition. The switch needs to be switch back and forth but will stay on. Large Vintage Mohawk Dressel New York Canal Channel Bridge Lamp Light Lantern
There are many images so be sure to scroll down to view them of this vintage Dressel Railroad Railway lamp& signal Co. rare Erie Canal Channel Bridge Lamp marked Mohawk. This kerosene lamp stands 23" tall to the top of the handle. The top is 5 1/8" in diameter and top is marked Arlington Dressel NJ USA. Around the top are words Mohawk Lamp New York State Canals. The lamp has been painted red at some point. I think it was originally silver. The lens is a clear fresnal 7 3/4" diameter and it does have some chips in the glass. This type of lens is used to focus beams for a long distance. The base tank is 11 1/2" in diameter x 3" deep and the wick is in it and goes up and down. The weight unpacked is 23 pounds. Very heavy. Offered here for sale at a very old ship lantern for sale. very nice condition with patina of the lake, copper and brass, formerly used with petroleum lantern, now electrified. the glass is slightly yellow, and completely protected with a lattice. the main material is copper, the suspension and the grid is made of brass. I could find no defects, the electrical system is ok. the lantern makes a very nice light, see pictures. This lantern lamp came from my dad's garage. I can't tell what kind and guessing on the Bridge lamb.It appears to be in good shape. This lamp looks like a kerosene lantern but this one has a light bulb socket. It does not appear to be converted from kerosene I cannot find any company markings so your guess is as good as mine. Measures 10" tall with top loop standing up straight and approximately 4.5 inches at it's widest point. Classic design. Heavy thick brass. Bottom unscrews where oil and wick can be placed. Glass Globe is a 1/4" thick glass. This lantern weighs a surprising 1 pound and 14.1 ounces(almost 2 pounds) Nothing thin and cheap. All heavy duty quality. We think it was made back in the 1950's. Rare NOAAS REASEARCHER R-103 Vessel Emergency Light Acquired and restored by an engineer that was on the ship The Researcher R-103 was built in 1968 and had this name from 1970-1987 then it was renamed. The vessel was decommisioned in 1996. Included is the complete detailed drawing of the lamp circuit. Holds the charge for use once the battery is taken out. Use a 6 volt battery to charge and remove for use of the light. I was told by the engineer that restored it that it works and the bulb appears to be intact. The lamp holding the bulb is brass. The red box is metal. Weighs 5 pounds 9oz. The total height is 11" x 9" wide& 4" deep. The red box measures 6.25" x 6.75" x 4" The letters of the name of the ship are cut out of the red paint. Antique J.H. Peters& Bey. Hamburg 11, Germany marine navigation ship lantern. This is a vintage possibly WWII era anchor light made by the German company J.H. Peters& Bey; Hamburg. The plate on the back of the anchor light reads"J.H. PETERS& BEY HAMBURG 11. The lamp body is made of galvanized metal and the chimney cap is made of copper. The Fresnel lens is hand-scribed with some information as seen in the photographs. Numbers inscribed include the number of the lamp(43344) and other information that is unknown. Approx. 16" tall without the iron swing handle up 19" and 8" total width. Under the copper top you can still see original soot from the lantern fixture. Truly a unique vintage piece. Vintage Copper PERKO Nautical Ship Lantern Electrical Marine Light Gulf Oil
This 16 1/4" tall electric lantern with an all original patina and toggle switch is from the estate of Howard Craven. He was a ship captain for the Gulf Oil Company until he retired in the early 1950's. When he then took up painting ships with oil on canvas. His father was also a ship captain, so I'm not sure which one used this lantern. It is all copper than I can see. It would be beautiful polished up, but I chose to leave it as is for those of you that would prefer it in it's original condition. It has what looks like original inner parts, wires, etc. see pictures) I have not tested to see if it works. I prefer not to challenge things like this since I know nothing of how they work. Pat. 1890 Tarnished Brass Marine Oil Lamp Lantern Light, much rarer than Perko
Beautiful darkly tarnished 10" tall brass marine lantern with no stress cracks. See 360 degree images. Heavy glass globe is damage free and has 3/4" dimple cast in it as some sort of focusing device{see image with flame} Spring clips that retain the oil font have 1890 patent dates on them. Good working burner uniquely flips up for refilling. Bottom of font is dented and has a large solder repair on in but does not leak and rest correctly in lantern base. Beautiful display piece or rare design with a great patina. Quite heavy.

Vintage Marine Ship Navigation Light Nautical Maritime Lantern Clear Boat WW II
My husband is organizing his shop and parting with quite a few items. Here is one of those items and his description of it: Maybe a good Christmas gift for the nautical collector in your life? Vintage marine ship’s iron navigation light. 180 degree clear glass Fresnel lens Navy? WWII? I picked this up at an estate sale and planned to use it as yard lighting. Turned out it did not fit the landscape plan. This is a large ships navigation light. Either for the stern(showing white two points abaft of the beam, starboard and port) or masthead light(forward, showing two points abaft of beam, both starboard and port) This shows a bit of light surface rust in spots. The result of years at sea. There is no internal mounting or wiring for a bulb, but that could be easily designed and installed. The gasket around the hinged lid is missing, but could ... morebe replaced with some type of weather-stripping. There are two small chips in the Fresnel lens, as shown in the photo. These should not affect the durability of the lens. You can see the imperfections in the lens from the glass casting process, as sign of its age. This stands 11 ½ inches tall. 8 inches in diameter(across) 9 inches across the top latch and hinge. The Fresnel lens is full width and 7 inches high. The base is round with“bayonet” mounting slots and is 5 ¾ inches outside and 5 3/16 inch inside diameter. The lid is held closed by a hinge on one side and thumb bolt on the other. The lid swings open freely. This is how I found it, I only cleaned the lens to confirm no other damage. I put a light inside it to show what it looks like illuminated for the pictures. The light does not come with this piece of marine hardware. As many ships navigation lights are made of brass or bronze. I can’t help to wonder if this was from a WWII ship, a time when these metals were in short supply and needed for munitions manufacture for the war effort. Rare Vintage Copper/Brass 3-Stage Table Lamp - Nautical Lantern Style Light
This piece was purchased at an estate sale of a collector. I don't know much about it except that it is vintage from the 1960s-70s. The condition is excellent for its age. With the only noticable wear being on the base. Needs a new bottom glued back on. Can put any color c7 bulb in the bottom portion. See photos for details. The lamp has three possible settings, 1-just the top, 2-just bottom part is lit, 3-both top and bottom are lit. The height of the entire lamp is 22 without lightbulb. I have the most unique item up for auction~due to its size. I believe it to be a Salesmans Sample~and a Lighthouse Lantern shape~I find no makers identification on it. What amazes me, is that it is all there~even the original little Edison lightbul, the crsyytal glass glove, and a brass mesh insert~ The base unscrews, from just below the open part~the cord is in need of replacement. All in all, a wonderful item for the collector. ~feels like a heavy gauged brass, I don't want to clean it, as I prefer to let the future owner make that decision.
