I believe this to be a vintage ship/nautical/maritime oil lantern in good condition. Made of copper, brass and a amber/yellowish tinted globe shaped glass w/ no cracks or chips. The lantern measures 11"H x 7.5"W and has a small removable oil lantern that enters the lantern through a small hole in the base of the lantern. I left the metal the way I found this piece and only cleaned up the glass globe. I do not see any reason why this lantern would not function properly. Antique Ship /Railroad Lantern Glass Globe Metal Adlake Kero Lamp
Metal with clear glass globe Ship or Railroad Kerosene Lantern. Canada 1921-1923 with numbers engraved on bottom. Adlake Kero engraved on the top. 10 by 6 inch lamp with a 4 inch high handle. Wick inside is intact as well as the wicks handle on the side. The bottoms wire like base is slightly bent. There is some rust throughout and a 1/2 inch long, 1/8 inch dent on the top. Very good condition overall.

Large antique Perko ship lantern metal/Green glass
This lantern is from my Grandfather's collection and unfortunately he's unable to give me specifics on it. This is believed to be a ship lantern but the globe has"PERKO" near seam. Measures approximately 20" tall and 10" at widest point. This lantern is solid. Weighs approximately 12 pounds. Needs to be cleaned up, it's dirty from years in storage. My Grandfather said it worked when packed up years ago, this is being sold UNTESTED. I have not taken this apart or done any extensive cleaning. The Globe appears solid but looks like there could be some deep cracks although the surface is smooth. The glass has a few scratches and chips. I've photographed all imperfections. Facial damage consists of chipping on outer edge of ribbing, back-side edges and corners show usage chipping, mostly flea-bite size. manufacturing air bubbles The chipping is shallow(is not missing large chunks of glass) with only 2 spots being dime size and the remainder being various pea sizes and smaller. While it simply needs an experts touch. This item has been in storage near Mobile Bay, Alabama and previously belonged to my grandfather who worked at and retired from the shipyard in the early 1970's. The finds are sporadic at times, and not grouped or labelled. This lens sat alone wrapped in paper and reinforced with cloth electrical tape that had stiffened and lost its sticky. To an untrained eye it has the characteristics ... moreof being one of the oldest lens' of that group. Brass and Glass Antique Oil Lantern British Captain's Chief 1935 Fully Functions
This is one remarkable piece of history. It works too! This brass Captain's lantern for a ship was made in 1935. We have been assured this is the real deal. It has the oil lamp piece that comes out so you can maintain it then right back for those long trips on the sea. This is called the Chief light from Great Britain. It is a great size about 1 foot 3-4 inches high(guessing- it's not in front of me) Very sturdy with the strength bars all around and the glass is all good. This was very well maintained. The latch has been worn off so it closes with a wire loop. This is one I'd love to keep but business is business. With everything so dependant on electricity it would be a great idea to have some back up light that is proven and will last a while. Wish you the best.

Perkins Marine Lantern - Cranberry glass
This handsome lantern was probably part of a set. This red lantern would have indicated the port(left) side and an accompanying green lantern would have indicated the starboard(right t)side of the ship It is 16 1/2" tall; the red globe is 7" in diameter and the surrounding cage is 9" in diameter. The entire burner assembly is included. In working order. The company that made the lantern was started in the early 1900's under the name of the founder, Frederick Perko, who shortly thereafter changed his name and the company's to Perkins. In the third photo, some of the 1/2" high letters'PERKINS' can be made out.

Antique Brass Eric Canal Barge Lantern Red and Green Glass Nice Collectible
Antique Brass Two Color Boat Lantern Found in upstate New York. I am told that this is a lantern from the barges that they used on the Erie Canal. The lantern has a flat back and a rounded glass shade in the front. The glass is divided in the middle by a brass shield that extends from the front of the lantern- one side is colored green, the other side red, I guess to signal whether you were coming or going. On the top is a nice decorated piece that has little cut out heart shapes and a ring handle. On the bottom, there is a flap that can fold out showing the inside burner. The burner can be removed for filling and has wick with a turning knob. The lantern is in good antique condition, the glass is intact it is ready to display. Original tarnished patina. From an estate sale is an Antique Vtg Brass Wall Oil or Kerosene Lantern. It measures 13" long and the beveled glass windows measure 4" x 3" All windows are free of cracks or damage. There is some surface rust on the inside but no corrosion to the metal to cause holes or damage so it could be cleaned if needed. The very top of the lantern has been soldered(see photos) but it doesn't affect the workings of the lantern. Up for auction is an original George Carpenter& Co Solid Brass Nautical Lantern With Glass Working. This is an original early 1900's Nautical Lantern. Originally this lamp was probably carried on the deck of a ship as it has a handle for carrying. It was also probably an oil lamp converted to electric at a later date. The lamp works perfectly well with the socket. Has a nice warm glow that radiates from behind the glass. It is approximately 10 inches tall and about 4" inches wide. The brass still has its original aged patina and has not been cleaned. It may have also at one time had a bottom piece that held oil. The glass itself has a few chips in it and a crack but most assuredly isn't going to break in the near future as it's extremely thick. Vtg Perkins PERKO Marine Boat Lamp Starboard Bow Green Red Glass Light Lantern
This listing is for a vintage Perkins PERKO Marine boat Kerosene Lamp. Finding one in better condition than this one will be a challenge. The lamp is made of Galvanized metal and has a Brass Top/Finial and the Kerosene lights hardware is made of Brass. The Dark Green and red lens are made of Glass and are chip and damage free. The design of this lamp is different than most others. The inside hardware is accessible from the bottom of the lamp only. It has ingenious spring loaded tabs of each side. If you want to pull out the hardware you simply squeeze the tabs and pull the hardware out. As you can see from the photo's the Brass hardware is in excellent condition and includes what is probably the original wick.I think this lamp has spent most of it's life indoors. The outside Galvanized Metal is also in excellent condition. Nothing ... moreis loose. All corners etc very tight construction. The top finial piece with hanging loop is made of Brass. I did not clean this. Left the original patina. I did however clean the Brass Perkins/ Perko identification tag because I could not read what it says. Featured here is an original 1909 Brass Solar Ship's Running Light Lantern(with green plastic jewel) The housing has beveled glass. There are two patent dates: June 08. 1909& June 29, 1909. The lamp measures 11-3/8" tall and the housing is 4-1/2" wide(not including the fitting for attachment to a rod) This is model No. 1030. Here we have a very large ship or boat lamp or lantern marked"Anchor" This estate found lantern is made from solid brass which has been lacquered. Although the lacquer is crazing from age. It still displays very nicely. The center cap in the top flips up and it also opens at the base of the top as well. There is an oil lamp inside that does have the wick. In the center there is a very thick ribbed glass lens that has no cracks. There is a brass anchor hook on the top and the bottom. No dents, nice vintage condition. RARE 1800s BULPIT Blackout CANDLE Anchor LANTERN, 17 lbs, All Orignal inc. Glass
Here is an original antique. Solid brass CANDLE BLACK OUT ANCHOR Lantern made by Bulpitt& Sons of Birmingham, England. This candle, black out lantern is extremely rare, and almost never found for sale. It is from the late 1800's and is complete with it's original heavy glass globe, which is in perfect condition, showing no cracks or chips. The lantern likewise shows no signs of rust or cracks. This lantern would polish up easily and make a stunning show piece! It is 14" tall with out the top and bottom bales being extended. It is 9.5" across and weighs 17 pounds. Which shows you just how heavy of brass this is. As the photo's show the lower skirt slides up to hide the candle flame. As for the inner workings of the lantern, as the candle burns a brass spring slowly pushes it up to keep the candle flame at a constant ... morelevel. Vintage Ship Railroad Lantern with Clear Glass and Attaching Clip Convex Burner Unit Pat'd 1864 Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great nautical ship or railroad lantern for your buying consideration. Recently acquired them at an auction that a party's collection of marine/nautical items were being sold. We will have a number of these pieces for sale separately in our Ebay store. The lantern would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! I would guess this lanterns is an old one. Per the patent date of March 1 1864. The burner has the name"Convex on the other side of the brass wick guide. Struck out when attempted to find something online for that patent date. Ring for hanging it is still on the top of the lantern. The lantern also has a brass spring clip affixed to the back of ... morethe lamp. Someone put felt on it. So as to not scratch the surface the lantern is attached to. The lantern has a thick rounded glass on it. The glass is not cracked. There is a chip in the glass where the clear globe meets the metal body on the top left side. The burner appears intact and has a wick in it. A ding in the bottom of the burner. The case of the lantern is made of metal. Probably repainted with the black paint on it some time after it was new many moons ago. No major rust or corrosion to the lantern body. The lantern is 8.75" tall. By 3.75" across, by 5.25" wide. I do not see a maker's mark on the body of the lantern or lens, just the burner body. Description: we believe this to be late 1800's to early 1900's. gimballed handle hanger at the top. wonderful patina and age. great look. heavy thick 1/2" glass with a purplish tint from age. air bubbles and swirls in the original glass. unfortunately at some point in time.
