The bottom is 8” in diameter, the top is 7 ½” in diameter, the lens is 4 ¾” tall(the exposed portion) and the lens is approx 5” in diameter. The lens is a dark ruby red and I see no cracks or chips. The body is galvanized metal with the rings. Latching hardware and the top ring of bottom portion being made of brass. There is a makers mark on the inside but some is missing and I cannot tell by what I can read who the maker is. Do you know? I assume that it was battery operated but there is no battery or wiring that is visible. I did not take the top portion apart and do not know if there is a bulb inside. The one photo that shows the lens bright was held up to the sun. The lantern is in good overall condition with some oxidation and rust as shown. The rubber gasket and other rubber pieces are inside but in poor condition(see photos) Please look at the photos carefully to see what is included. The lantern/ lamp is untested. Also worth noting is the fact that the fuel reservoir on one lamp is taller than on the other. Consequently the shorter lamp is 4.5 inches to the top of the burner while the other one stands 5 inches tall. The lamp base measures 4 5/8 inches side to side and the fuel reservoirs measure 3.5 inches in diameter which would likely be the size of the hole in the bottom of the lantern into which it is meant to fit. As well there is a difference in the lamp chimneys. While they are hand blown, one is 2 5/8 inches at the widest point while the other is 3 inches wide and both are 6 inches tall. They are original glass in these fixtures since there still are remnants of the word"Perko" stencilled on the top of each chimney. For sale is a"PERKO" brand glass globe for some sort of nautical light or lamp. It is light purple/amethyst in color and is marked"PAT. PEND" in tiny letters on the side. It measures about 2 3/4" tall. The diameter of the bottom is about 1 7/8" and this is the outside measurement of the very bottom edge. The globe is in very nice shape with no damage and just slight wear. The glass is ever so slightly cloudy on the inside but perhaps this can be polished away? Boat or Dock Light* This is a vintage maritime nautical Fresnel Lens Lamp that was previously being used as a dock light in Austoria. Oregon on Oregon's North Coast. It appears to be brass or copper metal(do not know if solid or plate) It has a glass fresnel lens. It measures approximately 7 1/2" tall to top of hanger and 4 1/2" in diameter at the base. It is wired to take a standard electric light bulb. The metal top and bottom attach to fresnel lens with thumb set screws. It is as found and well weathered from years of use although it is still functional. We have not cleaned the metal or glass and there are deposits from the elements on both the metal and glass. It could probably be cleaned up but wanted to leave it with ... moreits original weahered look. Other than the the weathering from the elements it is in good vintage condition and the glass fresnel lens does not have any cracks or chips. RARE Antique New England Whale Oil Ship's Lamp With Blue Fresnel Lens
This beautiful ships lamp measures approximately 16in.x9in. and was found in a seaside barn in Massachusetts. The lamp has a heavy blue/green fresnel lens in two pieces joined by some type of fiber caulking. The body and lens cage are made from a heavy metal and are painted aqua-green. There are a couple of chips in the seam of the lens but is otherwise fine. The overall condition is fair with some rust and pitting that could be cleaned and reprinted if desired. There is no sign of wiring so I assume this was meant to be lit by oil. I have never seen a similar lamp and can find no maker's mark. Antique nautical marine lantern brass fresnel lens lamp
Up for bids is a wonderful old lamp from a local estate. It stands about 10 1/4" tall not including the ring on top. It measures about 5 1/2" wide. The lamp was electrified at some pint long ago. The original burner was removed and a porcelain socket was installed in its place. The cord. Switch and plug are all in good shape. The socket takes a standard base light bulb. It comes with a mounting bracket attached to a pine board. The board measures about 10 5/8"x 6" The board is varnished and has nicely chamfered edges. The bracket does not look original to the lantern, but does a good job and holds the lantern snugly in place. I have used this lamp on a table as well as on the wall. It makes a great accent light. Lighthouse Service harbor. Pier or bridge light. Approx. age is Pre 1938. I was told it was used in North Carolina marking a pier. Usually they are made of bronze. This one has the bronze metal under all that black paint. Lantern appears original. With clear Fresnel lens. Lens is intact but has some BB dings or chips or cracks. Marked in the bronze casting on the side is"A" under that) is U.S.L.H 6. With few if any very minor expected dents, no cracks that I see. Vintage Very Large"Perko" Ship Lamps Port& Starboard Red& Green Fresnel Matched Pair Maritime Marine Boat Lamps/Lanterns Here's a matched pair of nautical lamps made by Perko of Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Brooklyn N.Y. U.S.A. The red and green fresnel lenses are in excellent conditions with some great bubbles from when the glass was formed. They are made of galvanized sheet metal with brass or copper tops and openings on the bottom. The galvanized metal is very solid with very little areas of surface rust. nothing major. These are original vintage Lamps dating from somewhere between the 1930's to the 60's based on their websites timeline. Actual manufacture date is unknown. The lamps are 18" tall. 22" tall with the handle extended, 10" wide and 18" across the front. I purchased ... morethese lamps 28 years ago with the intention of wiring them. They've been carefully stored indoors waiting for the project to begin. I never got around to wiring them. It's time to pass them along to a new owner. Bulbs and wiring or burners are not included. Lighted Bulbs were placed inside the lamps temporarily for photographic purposes to show how the lamps may look when illuminated. The gas burners weren't with them when I acquired them. These lamps would look great mounted at a pier. Dock or a boathouse. was initially known as Perkins Marine Lamp. Inc. The original focus was on the manufacture of hand formed sheet metal products for the marine market. The first catalog was published in 1916, with a product line as diverse for its time as PERKO's catalog is today. The company name was changed to Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Corporation in 1932 to better reflect the growing line of products being offered at that time. Very beautiful Antique Vintage Marine oil lamp. Has a 360 Degree Fresnel lens which seems to have no chips but. Has cool bubbles and imperfections. The oil lamp has National Marine Lamp company stamped on knob and is in good condition but, should have new wick installed. The hinge to bottom is missing and should be repaired.
