Up for sale today we are pleased to be offering an Antique Copper Riveted R.C. Murray& Co PORT Side Ship Maritime Lantern/Lamp with Clear Lens. This is in original un-restored condition. This is labeled on front: PORT LAMPADS No 552 RC Murray& Co Limited 37 Cavendish St Glasgow Etched on the glass on the front of the lens is MWGW Ltd. S.L.C. 118 There is some denting. There is oxidation causing some nice green patina mostly around the edges but there are no rust holes. There is a seam split near the bottom underneath the lens and you can see through to the inside as it is split across the front and open in some areas though not in others. There is noticeable dirt and some rust on the inside from years of storage. The lens has some chips but none of them go through. There are three which are noticeable and the rest of the lens is in ... moregood condition. It measures 21" high X 14" across X 14" deep. Diameter across the top is 5 3/8" approximately. Early. Copper& Brass Starboard Side Ships Lamp. This antique lamp was found at an estate sale in Henderson. NY on the eastern shore area of lake Ontario. The lamp is being offered as found for parts or refurbish or keep as is. The lamp stands 8.7/8" tall as is. The soot catcher or chimney cap is missing. The copper housing shows a lot of aged patina. There is a crack in the copper in the pierced trim that goes around the chimney(see image 9) The bottom door also has a split or crack(see image 5) The curved, green glass is in excellent condition for its age, just a few fine scratches and some dirt. Pair Vintage Copper Brass NEPTUNE NR Ship Lantern Lamp Nautical Maritime Cage NR
This auction is for a pair of vintage NEPTUNE NR copper and brass ship oil lamp lanterns. These lamps are in EXCELLENT estate found condition with a stunning and even patina. They are beautifully crafted from copper and brass and secured with a chain and hook in the front. These lanterns both have a badge at the top with the Neptune hallmark and NR. All of the glass is in beautiful condition(with the exception of some dust from being displayed) The globe inside is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The oil lamp inside is secured to a metal wire that stays in place by sliding down two opposing corners inside. And sits very securely inside with no wobble. I do not know the age of the lanterns, and have seen only a few similar, but most of then have all brass cages(die to the reddish tint I do believe this is mostly copper) ... moreor have been polished. None have been found also with this exact badge in the same place and this stunning copper patina with the reddish copper undertones that almost glow through. This has not been cleaned or polished, but I'm sure would polish up nicely if the buyer wishes to do so. Each lantern stands 15"high without handle, and 17 1/2" tall with handle, by approx 7"wide. Some tarnish. Scuffs/etc and three brackets screwed into the base. A small ding or two that I wouldn't call dents, but you may. Approximately 10 inches across the bottom and 19 inches tall- 21 inches if you count the top handle- more if you count the bottom handle: I do not know if the oil burner works or ever was supposed to work. Wonderful vintage Tung Woo. Hong Kong, copper ships lantern. This one is marked"Anchor. 9" high x 4.5" wide or 22 cm x 13 cm Some of the copper has"greened' and spread to cover other parts. I was able to wipe most of it off easily with a wet rag. This shows some wear and age. I have sold and shipped a lot of fragile items. It weighs a little over 12 pounds. I'm not sure if it's copper or brass. It's also very LARGE. It measures about 13 1/2" tall, 13 3/4" wide and is approximately 9 1/2" deep from each corner to the back. It was a originally a kerosene or oil ship's lantern. It's an amazing light! It's in excellent working condition, it's been newly re-wired& has an antique switch in the front(converted to electric) The switch is turned to right each time you want to turn it off or no. It has a removable red port glass(see photos of it turned on, with and without the red glass) The clear glass has a small 1/2" chip in one of the ... moreribbed sections; it's a very heavy thick glass so this does not compromise anything. Near the top of the lamp there's an emblem that has the numbers"3883" There is also some etching on both the clear and red glass. I wonder if this belonged to a military ship. As most items on those ships were marked with serial#s etc. The writing on each glass piece says"DHJE 3883, No. 654, E.31.5.61" It's not very noticable and you can't see it unless you really look; it's not seen when the light is on. Condition wise.it's vintage! There are a few dings& dents. Some areas of wear etc.but considering it was a ship light, it's going to have a weathered old look, which I personally prefer. Antique Copper Wrought Iron Nautical Garden Dolphin Lamp Brackets Arts + Crafts
Fabulous pair of pretty large cast iron brackets designed as lantern brackets. They could also be used to support a window box. They feature the detailed profile of a seahorse. The bases(the verticals that attach to a wall) are a narrow shield-like shape with a hint of fleur de lys on the bottom. Very fanciful. I think this piece is copper. As a magnet does not adhere and there is a little bit of shine coming through the painted finish. The seahorses are cast iron. The top hanging bar could be hand wrought iron. A magnet adheres to both of these pieces. The hanging bar is quite linear with an end that holds a lantern. I think it's hollow, permitting electrical wire to be threaded through. The shape of the top piece and the copper base suggest to me the arts and crafts movement. The wiring is very old, so I wouldn't be surprised if ... morethese are from the 20's or30's. But I am just guessing. When we acquired these we were told that they were from the first New York World's Fair. I have done some research and have not found any images that confirm this. They were from an estate in Queens NY of two men. One of whom was a set designer for the earliest Today Shows and Capt. Kangaroo. The partner was a model ship builder. They had a fantastic eclectic collection of decorative collectibles. If indeed these were from the World's Fair, I wouldn't be surprised if these men made sure they got some"trinkets" when buildings were taken down. Nice and sturdy. The seahorses and the top piece have superficial rust. They dirty the hands when handled. The silvery finish which could be original is uneven. They definitely need refinishing. If the buyer wants to use these as part of a lantern. They need to be wired. Please see another pair of these that I am selling on ebay that has remnants of the electrical pieces. Vintage Copper & Glass Nautical Lantern Oil Lamp Long Narrow Design
Selling a cute little copper lantern. All five panes of glass are individual. The hurricane is in nice shape with some nicks. No makers name that I can find. Says made in Hong Kong on the bottom. It stands 12.25" not extending the handle. Which stays down as seen in the pic. It's just under 5" wide. It's a really pretty piece, good for indoors or out. Thanks for looking!

At one time in its past someone tried to electrify the lantern. I left the wiring(Deterated) on the lantern for the purchaser to determine what needs to be done. The wiring looks early 1900 and is unsafe for use as a electric lamp. I estimate the lantern. Utilizing a candel for it's light source, is very much older and is probally Cira:1800 The unusual wind break material on the inside perimeter is deterating due to age but has nothing to do with the stability of the lantern. It is an astatics issue. This item shows overall wear including scratches. Antique Copper Oil Lantern Lamp Cut Glass
This is a copper lantern that measures 18" tall and 6 1/2" wide across. It has 6 glass sides with cut stars and vines? There is a glass oil lamp base, no wick or top that is fitted into the base of the lamp. the door opens at 2 two panes on a copper constructed hinge and latches closed. all solder joints in decent shape for its age, just one cracked pane of glass. Tung Woo made many lamps for the British shipping trade. Prominently marked with their distinctive raised Flying Horse. This lamp remains in excellent condition. With no dents or damage, and everything in working condition. All copper construction, with brass hardware and burner. Lamp retains a HANDSOME cinammon patina. Very practical design. THIS ANTIQUE COPPER SHIPS LANTERN IS IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION FOR IT'S AGE. THIS ONE IS SCARCE AND ITS A LARGE LANTERN. IT HAS GREEN ZINC COLOR ON THE BASE FROM AGE AND IT HAS A VERY DARK OLD PATINA OR FINISH ON IT. IT'S MISSING THE GLASS AND THE FONT POT AND IT HAS A MUSKET HOLE IN THE BACK AND ONE OF THE DESIGNS ON THE TOP IS PUSHED IN WHICH YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE. THE FRONT BASE IS 9 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND IT'S 13 1/2 INCHES TALL. IT'S 6 1/2 INCHES IN DIAMETER FROM FRONT TO BACK ON BOTH SIDES.
