Antique Colonial Tung Woo Not Under Command Copper and Brass Ship Oil Lantern Here is an antique maritime lamp made by Tung Woo Light and Lantern Company in Hong Kong. It is marked"No. L688" and"Not Under Command" The lantern is mostly made of brass and copper. The glass in the middle is in good shape with no chips or cracks and has a red lens inside signifying that it would have hung on the port side. Overall it is in good shape except for a dent in the copper lid that looks like it could be easily popped out. Comes complete with the removable oil reservoir and and burner. This is an amazing lamp that would be great as is. Or wired for electric for a great functional decoration piece. The lantern is quite big at 18" Tall and 10 1/2" Diameter not including the handles. Ancient Mariner Appeal ~ Rare Early Huge Copper Port Side-Light Ship's Lantern
Presented is this Rare Early Huge Copper Port Sidelight Ship's Lantern. Which once served on a 19th C Whaler from New Bedford, according to its former owner. Understandably, further research is needed to confirm this provenance. Crowned by a unique chimney for kerosene burner exhaust. This lantern displays well its long voyage thru the years. Light in good authentic condition with overall dimensions: Wt: 15 lbs X Height 24" X Width 14" X Depth 12" Please note: kerosene burner not included. As found, probably long gone; a couple minor chips to fresnel lens unnoticeable in photo but worth noting& remnants of brackets enhance character appeal as per photos. zipedit] Description• This is a fantastic vintage 1930-40's era Nautical Maritime ceiling light fixture. The thick pressed glass shade has a soft pink finish with clear glass sailboats and anchors. The clear glass rim has a rope design and the bottom has a fabulous starburst sunburst compass pattern. The ceiling canopy has been refinished and has a copper colored metal ships wheel cover attached to a clear pressed glass telescope. The fixture has also been refinished and uses 3 bead chains that hold and suspend the shade. It has been completely rewired with a new porcelain socket and wiring. The glass shade measure 10.25" wide and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips. Cracks or loss of finish. It hangs 9" from ceiling to bottom of the shade and can be adjusted slightly higher or lower with the chains. This item has me puzzled. I don't know if is made of copper and then brass coated or if is brass. It is embossed"HEKLICHT" on top. The glass front has a logo which is a triangle with 3 Gs on it. In the bottom it is marked"DHR Netherlands 07-02" It has some tarnish and oxidation. I hope you can see that in the pictures. It is very nicely made and it appears old but, I am not an expert in this items so it might not be very old. I have had it for about 7 years or so and bought it from an estate sale. It has not been used by me and when I bought it the wick was brand new. It still is. There is a some damage in the fluid container. For your consideration. A J.Vogels-Boon Fabricants copper and brass ships signal lamp with a Fresnel lens, and original oil burner. This is a rare beauty in both availability and condition. The lamp measures 18 tall to the top of the handle, and 10 inches deep to the back of the handle. The signal lamp operates by depressing the side lever to open the inside brass door in front of the oil lamp, emiting a brief burst of light to the next ship. RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN MARITIME NAUTICAL COPPER RIVET
Up for sale is RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN. This is such a great find because as just stated it is UNMODIFIED. Meaning it has NOT been converted over to electric. This lamp features a brass body with handmade copper rivets. All the hardware(rivets. Hinges, hasps, etc) appear to be hand made/forged. The ANCHOR brass label is applied on the top section which opens to expose the burner. The hook and chain to secure the hinged top are still intact. There is also a hinged top cap for flame inspection. When you open the top cap you will see that the chimney is triple insulated. It has a Frenzel type lens which appears to be old and original glass. The oil tank and burner assembly fits snug inside the lantern. Upon removal of the burner assembly from the oil tank. The wick is new and the inside of the oil tank has no residue ... moreor oil smell, suggesting it has to have been either cleaned very thoroughly(with several areas inside the tank unreachable) or possibly never used! Even though it seems to be the latter of the two options we still say possibly due to now documentation or provenance on the lantern beyond the current owner. This lack of evidence of use is consistent with inside of the metal chimney where no obvious traces of soot can be found. The base has aspiration vents all around it. The burner's wick knob has the words"SHERWOODS LTD. B'HAM MADE IN ENGLAND" on it. Making this from the very early 1900s at the latest from what we can find on the company. We have no reason to believe that this burner insert is anything but original to the lantern. Meaning we believe the lantern to be from the same time period. If anyone knows any different please share with us. In use this lamp would have been hauled up the ship's mast with halyards. To secure it as such. The lamp is equipped with substantial brass bail handles on the top and bottom. These are attached to heavy cast brass brackets riveted to the body of the lamp. A pair of port and starboard kerosene ships running lights. I call them"old" since I suspect my brother bought them in a foreign country many years ago when he was in the merchant marine. I hesitate to call them"authentic" since they have plates on them which state: Port. Starboard. I don't think real sailors need to be reminded what the red and green lenses denote. They are constructed of copper/brass/bronze, appear to be plastic green/red lenses, approximately 12.5 inches high, 7.5 inches across. The starboard kerosene insert is slightly bent(not visible when door closed. If you purchase and are unsatisfied, of course I will take them back for a refund(only minus shipping)

Vtg Copper Sealine Sea Line Hanging Ship Nautical Fresnel Type Lens Oil Lantern
This is the classic solid copper anchor lamp used on sailing ships for hundreds of years. The lamp is hand machined in pure heavy-gauge copper with brass trim. Comes with burner and a bit of wick. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for 20 nautical miles. The Anchor lamp is named for it's use. A 360 o white light is required to be displayed at the highest point(the tallest mast) on all vessels at anchor or under way at night. These oil burning lanterns were made to be lit. Hoisted to the top of the mast with one rope tied to the handle and a 2nd rope tied to the bottom bail to keep it from swaying as the ship rolls with the sea. A very nice lamp. Ready to use. Measurement to the top of the handle is 24. The box itself is about 10" wide, but is about 14" because of the brass fittings. There is a small hole in the karosine tank. The only marking that is distinguishable to me is the Seahorse 3 on the side of the lantern and the No. 3226 on the copper. I really don't know the history of this piece. Piper Railway Co Toronto I am selling this lantern for an estate of a gentleman that found this lantern in the 1950's when diving in the Great Lakes- Straits of Mackinac. The lantern measures 11"H x 7.5"W and has a small removable oil lantern that enters the lantern through a small hole in the base of the lantern. I left the metal the way I found this piece and only cleaned up the glass globe. I do not see any reason why this lantern would not function properly. It looks as though this piece has all its necessary components including a key, at one the end of the original chain, in order to control light(it moves the wick up and down) Even the wick looks like it would most likely work with a bit of fuel. 1950's Brass and Copper Cargo Ship Deck Light Wired For Home Use
This is a deck light reclaimed from a Cargo Ship circa 1940-1959. It is made from solid brass and copper. It is currently wired to use a standard home bulb. These look great as hanging lamps. You could also attach it to a stand and use it as a floor lamp. It would have to be a heavy stand. As this light weighs about 20 pounds. I recently saw a pair of these exact lamps listed for sale in an antique store for $2600. This style, with the rolled copper is pretty rare. You will see quite a few similar lights with a smooth copper reflector. But, this particular style is harder to come by.

Antique Nautical Anchor Porch Lights Sconces Copper + Tin Ship Lamp Fixtures
Up for auction is a Pair of Antique Nautical Anchor Porch Lights/ Ship Lights. Back plate with rope and anchor is heavy and appears to be copper(magnet does not stick) Lamp Shades appear to be made from heavy tin like some of the old whale oil lamps(magnet does not stick) Surface is aged from natural weathering and shows authentic time honored oxidation and aged corrosion likely from salt in the ocean mist. Both lamps need new wiring. New sockets and a small repair to the bar at the end that connects to the shade(i.e. an old tin washer, a nut and small screw) see pic where lamp rests on red measuring tape. Glass is thick, in nice condition, and original. You don't see a pair of Nautical Porch Light Fixtures like these very often. This is the only set that I have ever seen in years of antiquing and these are a matching pair. They will ... moretake a little work, but what a gorgeous set of lamp fixtures and a breathtaking anchor that brings forth images of Cape Cod and other amazing ocean coastlines. Vintage Copper Oil Lamp Possibly Brass? Weighted Ship Lamp?
Here we have a cool old copper oil lamp. I believe it's copper. As the bottom is turning that beautiful reddish tint. The portions above that, however, look like they could be brass, as they are aging differently. The lamp is approximately 9 inches tall and 5 inches wide. The only identifying marks are on the neck in tiny writing which says"patd oct 31 1875" I'm sure it's that old but I couldn't find another like it. The lamp does not have any dents or scratches to speak of. It was probably a ship lamp. As the base is weighted. The whole lamp is heavy for its size; I would say 5 or 6 pounds or so. If you know what this lamp is or anything about it. Please let me know, as I love learning about old stuff like this.

NAUTICAL RED EMERGENCY SHIP LANTERN COPPER AND BRASS TABLE LAMP
Thank you for viewing this auction for is one. 1) brass and copper ship lamp converted to a table lamp. This is an old oil lamp that I believe served as a emergency light due to the red lens it has which shine 360 degrees. There are two thick heavy glass lenses on this light. The clear lens is the amplifying lens, and the inside lens is for giving the light the red color. This light is constructed of primarily copper and brass. There are also some iron components to this light, this includes the lens protectors and the two hanging brackets. The hanging brackets are used to not only hang the light vertically, but also to stabilize it from moving left to right, and front to back. There is no lamp inside of this lantern, it does no light up internally. This ship lantern appears to have been converted a long time ago; I believe at the very earliest ... moreit was made into a table lamp in the 1940’s. This is an older piece and I am unsure of the age. I am also unsure of a maker for this lamp for there are no maker marks I have been able to identify. Telling from its construction. There is a good chance this lantern is from a 19 th century ship. The condition of this lamp is old. There are multiple dents on this lantern. And appears to have been used heavily. This lamp no longer has its original oil burner, it was most likely discarded when it was converted to a table lamp. The mounting clips are still in place for accepting an oil burner. The red lens and clear reflector are intact with no cracks. The lamp is built to flex, so it does move and flex; the structure of the lamp is still sound. The lamp does work, and lights. I would suggest changing the cord if it is still desired to use as a table lamp; the cord is older, and the plug is not polarized. The copper and brass does have extensive corrosion and staining on it. Also there are a lot of dings and dents throughout.
