This is a very rare lantern I have never seen another one like ... moreit listed on Ebay. The lamp is in excellent condition as evident by the photos. It has a very nice patina on the outside and looks great as is. Or can easily be polished for a brilliant shine. The lamp has a wooden handle, and on the left side of the lamp is a thumb toggle switch that opens and closes an aperture behind the lens that allows the light to have the appearance of turning on and off. I'm no expert, but I believe the lamp was designed for semaphore which is a method of using light to visually communicate with another ship, or from ship to shore, and vice a versa. The toggle switch works smoothly, and the door opens and closes freely. Please closely review all of the photos for the material condition of the lamp. The lamp has the original oil/kerosene pot, but it is missing the glass chimney and possibly a reflector that may have fit in the small rectangular slot at the end of the pot. A replacement glass chimney can be easily found online. The lantern measures approximately 20" inches from the top of the handle to the base, and it is approximately 10 1/2" inches wide. If you are a serious collector you do not want to miss the opportunity to own this lantern you may never see another one like it on Ebay. Rare Vintage Copper Ship PORT LANTERN? Found in Straits of Mackinac
Up For Auction Antique Nautical Copper Port Lantern? The tag on this lantern looks like it says N.L. Piper Railway Co Toronto I am selling this lantern for an estate of a gentleman that found this lantern in the 1950's when diving in the Great Lakes- Straits of Mackinac. The heavy red glass does have a crack towards the bottom(see picture) There is also a hole in the base(see picture) I don't know if it's suppose to be there or it happen at the time it went down as a shipwreck in the Straits. I believe this to be a vintage ship/nautical/maritime oil lantern in good condition. Made of copper, brass and a amber/yellowish tinted globe shaped glass w/ no cracks or chips. The lantern measures 11"H x 7.5"W and has a small removable oil lantern that enters the lantern through a small hole in the base of the lantern. I left the metal the way I found this piece and only cleaned up the glass globe. I do not see any reason why this lantern would not function properly. This interesting old lamp is most likely from the early part of the 20th Century. Perhaps before. It looks as though this piece has all its necessary components including a key, at one the end of the original chain, in order to control light(it moves the wick up and down) Even the wick looks like it would most likely work with a bit of fuel. There is no key available for the front hole(not sure what that one does, see last photo) Definitely a charming piece for the just the right decor. For sale is an antique maritime ships lantern made of copper and brass. The lantern is in fair condition. It is missing the burner. Plus. The globe has been busted and glued back together. It stands about 19 inches tall. The base measures about 9 inches ac ross the bottom. I don't know who the maker is. There is a plate with the number 44190 on the front. NAUTICAL RED EMERGENCY SHIP LANTERN COPPER AND BRASS TABLE LAMP
Thank you for viewing this auction for is one. 1) brass and copper ship lamp converted to a table lamp. This is an old oil lamp that I believe served as a emergency light due to the red lens it has which shine 360 degrees. There are two thick heavy glass lenses on this light. The clear lens is the amplifying lens, and the inside lens is for giving the light the red color. This light is constructed of primarily copper and brass. There are also some iron components to this light, this includes the lens protectors and the two hanging brackets. The hanging brackets are used to not only hang the light vertically, but also to stabilize it from moving left to right, and front to back. There is no lamp inside of this lantern, it does no light up internally. This ship lantern appears to have been converted a long time ago; I believe at the very earliest ... moreit was made into a table lamp in the 1940’s. This is an older piece and I am unsure of the age. I am also unsure of a maker for this lamp for there are no maker marks I have been able to identify. Telling from its construction. There is a good chance this lantern is from a 19 th century ship. The condition of this lamp is old. There are multiple dents on this lantern. And appears to have been used heavily. This lamp no longer has its original oil burner, it was most likely discarded when it was converted to a table lamp. The mounting clips are still in place for accepting an oil burner. The red lens and clear reflector are intact with no cracks. The lamp is built to flex, so it does move and flex; the structure of the lamp is still sound. The lamp does work, and lights. I would suggest changing the cord if it is still desired to use as a table lamp; the cord is older, and the plug is not polarized. The copper and brass does have extensive corrosion and staining on it. Also there are a lot of dings and dents throughout. Please refer to the pictures provided to get a better sense of this items condition. This lantern measures 10” to the top of the copper vent. To the top

The base diameter of the lantern is 6-1/4 inches. The interior"jelly jar" glass measures 4-3/4 inches long and 4-1/4 inches in diameter. Antique Anchor Copper Oil/ Electric Ship Style Lantern Lamp
You are looking at an Antique Copper Anchor Lantern/ Lamp. This lantern is 19 inches tall and comes with an electric light kit as well as oil burner. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for 20 nautical miles. Lamp is hand machined in pure heavy-gauge copper with brass trim. This 16 1/4" tall electric lantern with an all original patina and toggle switch is from the estate of Howard Craven. He was a ship captain for the Gulf Oil Company until he retired in the early 1950's. When he then took up painting ships with oil on canvas. His father was also a ship captain, so I'm not sure which one used this lantern. It is all copper than I can see. It would be beautiful polished up, but I chose to leave it as is for those of you that would prefer it in it's original condition. Vintage Japanese Brass/Copper Ship Lantern 1949
This is a very large(22" high x 9" Diameter) what I believe is a Japanese Ship Lantern. It has a plate riveted to it that has the Japanese description on it. I can't understand any of it except the date 1949. It is made of copper& brass. The oil reservoir is connected by 2 hinged bolts and drops out the bottom for easy filling. Handles on the top& bottom can swing out as desired. With the bottom handle. It looks like these lanterns can be stacked. It does have a couple small dents(I think easily fixed) but it is a very solid unit. Would be very sweet lantern when restored. No glass. Vintage Nautical Barometer Lamp, Ship in Bottle & Starboard Copper Lantern
A rare vintage nautical barometer lamp with a ship in the bottle and an antique copper starboard oil lamp with a blue glass lens. The barometer is a Carrington. Which was made in England, and is in working order. The antique copper starboard oil lamp is a Tung Woo, and is in excellent condition for its age. The 3 way light switch controls both the lamp and lantern, so one can light both lamps or just one of them. The vintage ship in the bottle has a chain attached to the cork, which is anchored to a brass post on the base of the lamp. The base of this lamp is bordered with fisherman's rope, as is the barometer. The wood on this vintage lamp may have some scuff marks from its long journeys, but appears in great condition for its age. The lamp stands 30” in height, 20” in width, and 10” in depth. A one of a kind nearly impossible to find gem that's always been free from pets and clearly is not beat up or neglected like so many others of its era. Vintage Ship Lantern "Anchor" Made in England Copper Brass 19"
Awesome vintage copper and brass ship's lantern made by"Anchor" made in England. Rare and collectible! This one measures 19" high; and 7" across at the bottom. Very nice heavy piece! Has"Anchor" marked at the top. And an insignia and"made in England" on the bottom fuel container. The top brass hanger folds down, too. I found this at an estate sale near Annapolis; and it has a couple dings and there's a dent at one of the brass rings on the side(see 7th photo) Burner looks to be in great shape, the glass globe has a big crack in it and will most likely need to be replaced. I'll pack the glass globe as best as I can but cannot guarantee it won't break all the way during shipment so please know this before bidding! Vintage Copper Ship lantern Original NOT reproduction. This was on a ship! Stern Co 1974 Double light front which is rare Has a few dents- nothing major. One on the top one on the back side. Please see pictures. Has set up for 2 light bulbs- I have always used as a display on my kitchen floor in the corner. I'm assuming it needs to be re- wired if you want to use as a light.
