This is a very rare lantern I have never seen another one like ... moreit listed on Ebay. The lamp is in excellent condition as evident by the photos. It has a very nice patina on the outside and looks great as is. Or can easily be polished for a brilliant shine. The lamp has a wooden handle, and on the left side of the lamp is a thumb toggle switch that opens and closes an aperture behind the lens that allows the light to have the appearance of turning on and off. I'm no expert, but I believe the lamp was designed for semaphore which is a method of using light to visually communicate with another ship, or from ship to shore, and vice a versa. The toggle switch works smoothly, and the door opens and closes freely. Please closely review all of the photos for the material condition of the lamp. The lamp has the original oil/kerosene pot, but it is missing the glass chimney and possibly a reflector that may have fit in the small rectangular slot at the end of the pot. A replacement glass chimney can be easily found online. The lantern measures approximately 20" inches from the top of the handle to the base, and it is approximately 10 1/2" inches wide. If you are a serious collector you do not want to miss the opportunity to own this lantern you may never see another one like it on Ebay. Antique/Vintage Brass/Copper Nautical Maritime Oil Lamp with Beveled Glass
This antique brass/copper oil lamp is in excellent condition and has a beautiful patina. Only 2 tiny dings at the very top of the chimney about 2mm wide. It measures 13.5"H by 7" W. I can not find a makers mark. But I don't want to polish it to find out. Many antique dealers prefer brass or copper items in there natural aged state. The glass is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks and is beveled. Still has the original oil container with wick and the wick turner does rotate.

It has all 3 of it's brass plaques, stating it's a Port lantern, who it's made by, and the patent numbers. The plaques have a beautiful flourish to them! It is identified as a Lamp-ads 924. The last photo shows you just how big this lantern really is, and it's BIG! It stands 25" with the handle up. 22" with it down, 15" across, and 14" deep. The copper housing has one small ding at the bottom of the right hand corner of the fresnel. It is likely from the early 1930's. We acquired it along with a second lantern we were after at the time. It came from a Honolulu estate of an avid maritime collector. His main focus were for items from the RMS Queen Mary and the SS Normandie. His children said this lantern came from the Normandie. But they had no proof of that. However we did get a Letter of Provenance stating what I've said. don't know what that's worth though. Nice vintage patina on this Perkins marine ships lamp. Great decorative piece for your nautical themed home. Would make Interesting repurpose project Measures approx 16" Note dents on pictures(does not distract from piece) Interesting History from website: The story starts with Frederick Persky. Who later became known as Frederick Perkins. He was a Russian immigrant who was schooled in Germany as a machinist and tool-and-die maker. Frederick came to the United States in the early 1890's and soon became employed as a machinist for E.W. Bliss& Company in Brooklyn, New York. In the early 1900's, he and a partner began operating a business, F. Persky& Company, Lantern Manufacturer, out of the basement of his house. In 1907. Frederick's son Louis joined him in the business, and together they enlarged both the product line ... moreand the manufacturing facilities. By 1912, they had seventeen employees and made a wide range of marine lanterns and products. The business continued operating until 1913 when Frederick became president of National Marine Lamp Company. Based out of Forestville, Connecticut. Frederick and Louis left that company in 1916 and moved back to Brooklyn, New York, where they started Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation. Five generations later, PERKO is still a privately owned, family operated corporation, which is unusual in today's marketplace.

Large Vintage/Antique Brass/Copper Ships Reflector Oil Lantern. The lantern itself is 24" tall(with chimney) and about 15" wide. With the handle it is about 32" tall. It appears to be complete with burner and glass chimney. The hinges need to be soldered(they are barely hanging on) There are gray paint splatters on the lantern and plenty of patina. Offered with no reserve. A rare Perkins Marine Lamp. This is made by the Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Company of Brooklyn New York. Has a small brass ID tag just under the toggle switch. See picture#3. The lamp stands 15" tall and is 7" in diameter at the base. Copper construction. Features 2 tie down hooks at the base. Also has hook on the top cover. There are several metal"arms" that protect the globe. One of these is missing the top screw. See second to last picture. This is a dry cell battery operated lamp. It appears the necessary wires are in place. This 16 1/4" tall electric lantern with an all original patina and toggle switch is from the estate of Howard Craven. He was a ship captain for the Gulf Oil Company until he retired in the early 1950's. When he then took up painting ships with oil on canvas. His father was also a ship captain, so I'm not sure which one used this lantern. It is all copper than I can see. This piece was purchased at an estate sale of a collector. I don't know much about it except that it is vintage from the 1960s-70s. The condition is excellent for its age. 2- Vintage copper Perko Perkins Marine Barge Lamp Nautical Light Lanterns. Lanterns have clear glass and measure just over 13 inches from the bottom to the top of the handles. They are about 9 1/2 inches to the outside of each bracket mounted on the side of the lights. It looks like the screws in the handle on one of the lights has been replaced with new brass screws. The clear glass does have some small flea bites chips you can feel if you rub your finger around each edge of the rippled glass. It only appears that the lids or tops are copper or brass. A rare vintage nautical barometer lamp with a ship in the bottle and an antique copper starboard oil lamp with a blue glass lens. The barometer is a Carrington. Which was made in England, and is in working order. The antique copper starboard oil lamp is a Tung Woo, and is in excellent condition for its age. The 3 way light switch controls both the lamp and lantern, so one can light both lamps or just one of them. The vintage ship in the bottle has a chain attached to the cork, which is anchored to a brass post on the base of the lamp. The base of this lamp is bordered with fisherman's rope, as is the barometer. This is a untouched original unrestored METEORITE ship light which measures 17" in height and 11" wide and deep. The light is made of copper and brass and has the original fresnel lense with no cracks. The are two chips(one very small and one about 1/2" on the lens edges. The original socket is in the light. The serial number on the front tag is II 442. There are a very limited supply of these lights. This is not a reproduction but and original vintage light right off a ship.

Up for sale a vintage copper& brass maritime ship lamp with a green glass globe. The majority of the metal is copper although the back may be brass. The globe is partial and is sealed inside. The case is 14 inches tall measuring to the top of the handle.The round portion with the globe is 8 inches in diameter and the base portion is 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches square. This has been wired so the light is in good working order. There is a brass plate on the outside(pictured) it shows Starboard RT 400 NK 77. Nice wall fixture. Yes it needs cleaning and polish or enjoy the patina the way it is. It appears to be mainly copper with the anchor made of brass. I am no expert on metals, but it is not metallic. Good glass, I do not see any chips or cracks.
