Has a red and blue lens. Lenses in good condition, wit just a couple tiny little chips. Bottom turns off easily to expose wick. Unique Vintage Modified Boat Lanterns - Geo. B. Carpenter & Co. Chicago
Very unique hanging boat lamps which have been electrically wired. The lamps are made with anodized steel and brass. With brass hanging rings. One lamp has a blue dome and the other red. They have two labels on them: Geo B. Carpenter and Co. Chicago" which is one of the manufacturers of the original style lamp. Lense Patd Dec. 20 1910- Trade Triplex Mary" I believe these lamps were modified. Using the antique lamp lenses and the original brass top plus labels from the original lamps. The red lamp is in excellent shape. The blue lamp has a minor flaw near the top rim adjacent to the lantern frame, which involves minor chipping. The rest of the lamp is fine. I have reduced the price from $95 to $75 due to the flaw. It is barely noticeable. They are pretty awesome and quite a conversation piece. They'd make a great unique gift ... morefor the guy who has it all; for a nautical theme; or hang on a patio! Lamps are 11 inches tall and 8 inches wide between the front points. Convenient on/off switch on the cord. Lamps must be hung when in use to allow for cool air flow underneath.

Antique Triplex Maritime Ships Lantern The lantern is marked with the Triplex logo and Pat'd 1910. On the other side it is marked Geo B Carpenter& Co Chicago. It definitely shows it's age. There are some dents and dings in the metal. The glass ridges on the lantern are chipped in some places. There is a drop of what appears to be white paint on the top section of the lantern. It definitely has that rustic charm. It stands 12" tall not counting the ring on top. The base is about 5.75" across. It has not been used as a lantern for quite some time. Sides measure 5" x 5" with a curved front that measures 9" across. Flat red glass with 2 metal bars. This is working fine.but I put in a 60watt bulb so the photo did seem too bright. However. George Carpenter & Co Solid Brass Nautical Lantern With Glass Converted Electric
Up for auction is an original George Carpenter& Co Solid Brass Nautical Lantern With Glass Working. This is an original early 1900's Nautical Lantern. Originally this lamp was probably carried on the deck of a ship as it has a handle for carrying. It was also probably an oil lamp converted to electric at a later date. The lamp works perfectly well with the socket. Has a nice warm glow that radiates from behind the glass. It is approximately 10 inches tall and about 4" inches wide. The brass still has its original aged patina and has not been cleaned. It may have also at one time had a bottom piece that held oil. The glass itself has a few chips in it and a crack but most assuredly isn't going to break in the near future as it's extremely thick. Really many of these chips add to the personal charm of this particular piece. ... moreI set the lantern up to make sure that it worked.
