VINTAGE Metal BRASS Nautical SHIP Light 4 sided glass 13" PORT/Starboard NR!!
This is a very unique Maritime item. It's brass light with 4 sided glass. They had filaments of green and red. Port and Starboard are on the light. As you can see the colors had brittle. I cant find any maker on the light. It is 13" tall and around 25" around from the thickest section. A great piece to have. Needs a good cleaning and polish. Please see pictures. I accept Pay PAL

I opened the back door to the unit and held it up to the sun to shine through in one photo. Very heavy and solid lamp. This light was converted to an indoor display light but it still has the original three sockets if someone wants to return it to its original use as a nautical light. Either way this nautical light will display well. New/Used: Used. Approximate Dimensions in Inches- Length: 10” Diameter: 5 ½” Condition: Very good. The previous owner converted it to an indoor display light. The only two things we did were clean/inspect the glass lens and replacing the light cord. Which was defective. There is some corrosion and oxidation on the original three light sockets. The lens is intact with the exception of a crack near the new light bulb that was added. Made of brass and iron. A gimbal allows something that contains liquid to self level in a situation such as a ship where the floor would not remain horizontal, something you would appreciate especially with a lamp holding flammable fuel. There is an old wick coming out of the burner side, and a thumbscrew that will open the filling space. The gimbal is made of iron, a gracefully curved heavy bar that would have been placed into a hole in a post drilled to hold a lamp such as this. The lamp itself is made of brass, made to withstand heavy duty use. When you remove the thumbscrew, the plate on the top will lift off with the wick. We could not find another example like this one so we are calling it rare. What a great chance to obtain something that would have been vitally useful in its time, but is a relic now that predates the electric light bulb. You can appreciate progress when you hold something like this, can't you? The lamp measures approx. 2.75" by 3" 11.5" long with the gimbal. Good Luck! The star of the show in this large vintage"Perko" brass lantern is the stunning heavy red glass Fresnel lens. As you can see. Sitting in front of a window it looks like the light is turned on.Very heavy with the brass construction. You may enjoy the vintage charm of the current"patina" or choose to give the brass a nautical shine. As you can see in my next-to-last photo looking down into center of lens glass, part of the electrical fittings remain inside- would need to be rewired if you want to light it. This is the real deal and it was used. Someone at some point of time made it electrical light. The glass has a few chips in the extremely thick glass. There is a couple small dents. But you can't hardly tell with the colors of the lantern. This lantern is unmarked. It is very solid and well made. The lantern measures approximately 21"x11" With the handle up it is about 23.5" in height. It weighs a heavy 17lbs 12oz. We assume since this is from the sea and very old that it is made of brass. They both have been wired for electricity and don’t have their burners. Although their reflectors are present. They measure approximately 17” high to the top of the handle. And 7-1/4” wide. One lantern still has its mounting bracket. And the globe has a crack on the side(approx. 3” long) Also that cap on top is missing a small piece where it would attach to the lantern. These are from my 1976 English offshore racing sailboat. I've never used them. So cannot verify their working. I'd imagine they are fairly bulletproof simple things that should work, perhaps needing a bit of maintenance. They could use a good polishing. It is possible the the body brass is pitted beyond shine. The upper cap rod is missing its end cap thread, entirely aesthetic. All in all they seem a quality build.

This item has me puzzled. I don't know if is made of copper and then brass coated or if is brass. It is embossed"HEKLICHT" on top. The glass front has a logo which is a triangle with 3 Gs on it. In the bottom it is marked"DHR Netherlands 07-02" It has some tarnish and oxidation. I hope you can see that in the pictures. It is very nicely made and it appears old but, I am not an expert in this items so it might not be very old. I have had it for about 7 years or so and bought it from an estate sale. It has not been used by me and when I bought it the wick was brand new. It still is. There is a some damage in the fluid container. The lamp measures 18 tall to the top of the handle, and 10 inches deep to the back of the handle. This is a bronze ships light frame we purchased from an estate sale. This light was off a large boat or small ship. The entire thing needs rewiring! No socket or wiring inside the light. The entire light measures about 10+1/4 inches tall and 4+1/4 inches wide. A little dirty and some paint overspray! The cage is really straight with no damage. The glass is good with no chips or cracks. This one would be great for reuse. That restoration project, or decorating a nautical room. Vintage Ship's Nautical Light ANTIQUE BRONZE/BRASS Ship light Stern? PERKO?
Here is a very old QUALITY made BRASS/ BRONZE? NAUTICAL SHIP LIGHT. This ANTIQUE NAVIGATION light has a 6 1/2 inch base across and is about 5 1/2 inches tall. This light has really nice AGED PATINA and is a GREAT SHOW DISPLAY PIECE. there ARE 5 base bolts with this light. There are no interior parts. The glass shows on only 1/2 side of the light which was probably for a forward facing deck light. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS FROM A SHIP MAST? There are no makers marks. Very HEAVY about 7 lbs. The glass has a couple of flake specs see photo3 that are normal for a light this age. There is not cracks that go through only the flakes. This is a great nautical ANTIQUE FROM A TIME GONE BY. Own a piece of US Naval History! General Simon B. Buckner(T-AP-123) 1945-1997. Previously USS Admiral E. W. Eberle(AP-123) and U.S. Army Transport General Simon B. Buckner USS Admiral E. W. Eberle. A 9,676-ton(light displacement) Admiral W. S. Benson-class transport built by the Maritime Commission to its P2-SE2-R1 design. Was commissioned in January 1945 with a largely Coast Guard crew. She departed San Francisco in March with troops and supplies for the Southwest Pacific, then moved to the Philippines where she embarked over 2,000 formerly interned civilians for repatriation to the United States. After arriving at San Pedro, California, in early May Admiral E. W. Eberle ... morewent to the Atlantic. Where in June and early July she made a crossing carrying troops from Naples, Italy to Trinidad and another returning servicemen to the United States from Le Havre, France. RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN MARITIME NAUTICAL COPPER RIVET
Up for sale is RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN. This is such a great find because as just stated it is UNMODIFIED. Meaning it has NOT been converted over to electric. This lamp features a brass body with handmade copper rivets. All the hardware(rivets. Hinges, hasps, etc) appear to be hand made/forged. The ANCHOR brass label is applied on the top section which opens to expose the burner. The hook and chain to secure the hinged top are still intact. There is also a hinged top cap for flame inspection. When you open the top cap you will see that the chimney is triple insulated. It has a Frenzel type lens which appears to be old and original glass. The oil tank and burner assembly fits snug inside the lantern. Upon removal of the burner assembly from the oil tank. The wick is new and the inside of the oil tank has no residue ... moreor oil smell, suggesting it has to have been either cleaned very thoroughly(with several areas inside the tank unreachable) or possibly never used! Even though it seems to be the latter of the two options we still say possibly due to now documentation or provenance on the lantern beyond the current owner. This lack of evidence of use is consistent with inside of the metal chimney where no obvious traces of soot can be found. The base has aspiration vents all around it. The burner's wick knob has the words"SHERWOODS LTD. B'HAM MADE IN ENGLAND" on it. Making this from the very early 1900s at the latest from what we can find on the company. We have no reason to believe that this burner insert is anything but original to the lantern. Meaning we believe the lantern to be from the same time period. If anyone knows any different please share with us. In use this lamp would have been hauled up the ship's mast with halyards. To secure it as such. The lamp is equipped with substantial brass bail handles on the top and bottom. These are attached to heavy cast brass brackets riveted to the body of the lamp.
