Vintage Port/Starboard Brass Ships Lantern
For sale is a very unique item. This is a vintage circa early 1900's divided port and starboard red and green ships lantern. It measures 10 inches tall not counting the handle. With the handle it is 14 1/2 inches tall. Across the back it is 10 3/4 inches wide. Side measurements are 9 3/4 inches wide. The glass measures approx. 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. I do believe it is brass as a magnet does not stick. It is an electric lantern with the original on/off switch. It is in very good original condition. This was found in Key West FL. Large Vintage Royal Navy Ship Port & Starboard Brass Bow Light Set Military Used
Up for bid is a pair of very large Navy Ship Bow Lights. Sale includes both port and starboard lights. These painted brass with real glass lenses. They stand over 14" tall. I have stripped the old military paint to expose the brass. I have not cleaned or polished them otherwise. They have a great natural patina. Both have light sockets but they are military marine spec so they would need converted over to 110& standard bulb for home use. Only one has a cord. The bottoms look different because one still has the rubber deck gasket attached. This is a very unique Maritime item. It's brass light with 5 sided glass. They had filaments of green and red. Port and Starboard are on the light. As you can see the colors had brittle. I cant find any maker on the light. It is 13" tall and around 25" around from the thickest section 9" Diameter. A great piece to have. Needs a good cleaning and polish. Please see pictures.

Vintage Pair of Brass Ship Lanterns with Red and Green Globes Starboard and Port Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great nautical set of large ship brass and copper lanterns for your buying consideration. Recently acquired them at an auction that a party's collection of marine/nautical items were being sold. We will have a number of these pieces for sale separately in our Ebay store. The lanterns would make a great gift or keep them for yourself. I would guess these lanterns are of World War II vintage. No maker marks or year made marks on the lanterns that I can ascertain. Great set of port(red) and starboard(green) brass ship lanterns for your decor needs. The lanterns were electrified at some point in the past. The lenses in each one are glass and not cracked or blistered. Each glass piece ... morewas caulked into each of the lanterns at some point in the past. The lantern cases are in good shape. Show some finish loss. The red lantern has the lip along the top of the lantern bent in and that bottom corner has a ding. The glass lens was not damaged there in either place. Each lantern is 14.25" tall. By 11.5" across, by 10.75" wide. I do not see a maker's mark on the lanterns. The brass tops screw off to access the inside of each lantern. Someone has put aluminum foil inside to get better reflection of the light thru to the lens. These were electric lanterns originally, but the light unit inside is certainly not the original one. The back piece that the lanterns would slide on to a bar are still in place. The cords are the lanterns are older, but still look to be in usable condition. I would recommend you have the cords and wiring checked out by a professional before using them from a safety perspective. Large Copper Brass Channel Buoy Marker- Navigation Running Light Port-Red Masthead. Good condition for its age. One top latch that holds the cover on needs to be fixed. It broke off and the the cage that protects the clear glass, has come apart at one place on the bottom.Can easily be repaired and used if needed, makes a great display piece and will work when wired and weatherproofed. It's not perfect but its old.Some repair needed. The name plate-maker plate was on the top but its not there anymore.It appears to have Chinese Japanese writing on the red lens and top.the lens has a crack as pictured but has not come apart. The clear glass has no cracks. Measures 9 inches high and 11 in across. About as high and wider then a paint can. Rare. Please see pictures.

Here is something you don't see every day! For sale is a great old copper& brass lantern made by R.C. Murry& Co. Limited of Glasgow. England. It has all 3 of it's brass plaques, stating it's a Port lantern, who it's made by, and the patent numbers. The plaques have a beautiful flourish to them! It is identified as a Lamp-ads 924. The last photo shows you just how big this lantern really is, and it's BIG! It stands 25" with the handle up. 22" with it down, 15" across, and 14" deep. It was made for a Class 4 vessel, over 65' and weighs 18.5 lbs. It has a good Sherwood Burner, with both wheels working freely. The entire lantern is made up of copper. With the exception of the brass handle, plaques, flat back hanging bracket, and top lid. It has it's burner and reflector, both in good working ... morecondition. There are two small chips to the fresnel, both of which do not mar it's looks nor do anything to stop it's function. They are both exterior chips. The copper housing has one small ding at the bottom of the right hand corner of the fresnel. It is likely from the early 1930's. We acquired it along with a second lantern we were after at the time. It came from a Honolulu estate of an avid maritime collector. His main focus were for items from the RMS Queen Mary and the SS Normandie. His children said this lantern came from the Normandie. But they had no proof of that. However we did get a Letter of Provenance stating what I've said. don't know what that's worth though. Each light measures 7 5/8 inches tall(measured from the top of the wall mount to the bottom of the globe cage) To access the bulb, you spin off the cage and the undamaged glass globe drops out. The red and green globes are true red and green glass. Both lights have been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts that are rated for any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb socket takes a normal screw in house bulb of 75 watts or less. Each light weighs about 4 pounds and can be used for interior or exterior lighting projects. Polished, but could use just a little more finishing. This is a used light that was recovered during one our many different salvage operations. For your consideration is a matching pair of Perko Brass Ship Lanterns. These were the port and starboard lanterns on a ship. These are vintage. I do not know the exact age of them. Each lantern has a Fresnel glass lens. They have been converted to electricity so that you can plug them in and they light up. They both work as you can see in the pictures. These are large lanterns each measuring approx. 12 1/2" T 10" W and each weighing over 11 lbs. They have some scuffs to the metal as you can see in the photos but overall are in great condition. Up for sale is a very old Nautical Maritime Navigation Brass PORT Lantern/Light. Let me start by saying I do not know what I have here; it is old. Weathered and has some rust and oxidizing on the lantern. The top hanging part is loose as screws not secure in the back of it. I believe it is copper and or brass. I do not see any name on the lantern. There are no dents on the lantern. Front screw opening. The front has the word PORT. The light is heavy red glass. Not plastic. There is no interior piece that lights the lantern. The glass has come loose and the metal frame has separated in the corner but all of this can be fixed. Could use a cleaning/polishing. For its age. It is in very good condition. The lanterns are in good shape for their age and the lanterns themselves stand about 9 inches tall. They do have some dents and dings towards the tops of the lanterns but the glass has no cracks and is in good shape. They do have alot of oxidation, minor on the outside and major on the inside. I was not going to clean them because I did not want to discolor them but they will hopefully clean up very nicely if cleaned properly.
