The green one has some damage on the top stack(see close up) and some oil residue on the front. These are 10.25" tall. The ribbed lens are in very good shape. For this reason I would say it is one of the earliest Models of the design. The glass is blue with no chips. The lantern itself has some very minor dings in one area and one minor dent. The outer housing is copper& the interior is lined in brass. With a brass lamp. The top is hinged& clasped with a chained hook. The lamp lifts out on two brass arms that extend to the top of the lamp. The interior lamp is complete& functioning. All glass is fine& the lamp displays very nicely. There is some slight age greening to the copper& one small dent on the back of the frame. Next to the window. BRASS EMERGENCY OIL/ALCOHOL LAMP
This unusual brass lamp was primarily used both aboard ship and for home use in Europe to provide light in the days before electric power was reliable. By design the usual wick regulator has been replaced with a brass cylinder that goes up and down serving as a flame extinguisher. The lamp is 3 1/2” in diameter and is also 3 1/2”tall. This could be used as either an alcohol lamp or will burn regular lamp oil. The patent date is February 17. 1903. A very unusual item for the collector. You simply mount the round brass circle to the wall and slip the oil lantern into it. We believe this is a brass oil lamp used on a ship. It has a stationary wall mount. It measures approx. 8" and the wall mount comes out 6 1/2" from the wall. The only marks we can locate on this piece is on the wick knob that says Made in MN1 English. It is weighted. There is one dents in the side. There is tarnish and wear on the brass. Anchor Ships Lantern(Not a Reproduction) This is a very large antique ships lantern marked as"Anchor" To the best of my knowledge it has all parts needed to burn oil. Please view pictures to augment my description. It is not electrified and it is NOT a reproduction. Lamp measures a stately 23" to top of handle. 18" tall without handle and at its widest a 10" diameter. With the exception of a dent in the brass at the base the lantern is in excellent condition. Lantern inner chimney has a couple of chips and a crack at the bottom where it sits in base. This can be easily replace but I beleive that this one is original so I will not replace. Awesome nautical historical item. I am not an expert on oil lanterns but will do my best to answer questions. This lamp came from an estate in lower Delaware near the beach. Here is a D.H.R. Dean Haan of Rotterdam. The lantern is brass. Not polished, has patina. On the bottom is the makers mark, Made in Holland. On either side it is embossed with a windmill. The lantern stands about 11" and 5 1/4" wide. On the back is a key hole notch for hanging. The wick is still intact and the turn knob works. The glass chimney is about 10 1/4" tall and the base is 2" wide. On the chimney is written cristal Prima. There are some spots of tarnish and a small scuff in the front. Otherwise, in good condition. Here for your nautical pleasure is a nifty gambel ships oil lamp. Two sided. Very heavy bottom to ensure plumb. It is made by(and marked) The lamp measures 11" tall w/o the chimney and 18" high w/ chimney. Approximately 3/5" diameter at the brass top and 3" on the brass bottom. As you can see. It is in fine working condition, but as with all vintage items, it is imperfect. I cannot speak as to its age: the 1842 in the name is probably the founding date of the company. Which is still in business. The lamp is from an estate sale of quite elderly folks who had a lot of nautical/marine items. If there is more information I can supply. I respond promptly. Sorry. Vintage drop fount for bottom-loading oil lamp. All brass construction. Some tarnish and patina. However very clean inside and in overall very good condition. Does not appear to have ever been filled with oil. Fitted with Simplex burner which used a 3/4" flat wick(not included) Wick adjuster knob is marked E. Miller& Co, Made in U.S.A. Top of burner is slightly bent. No maker markings on fount itself. Threaded collar where burner screws in measures 1-1/4" diameter. Three spring clips along side of fount held burner in place inside of lamp. All three are securely attached. Small brass filler cap is in place. Bottom bell measures 6" in diameter. Top of fount measures 4" in diameter. Height of fount is(not including burner) is approximately 3-1/4" Height of portion that would fit inside the lamp is around 2-1/4" ... moreProbably used in a maritime rather than railroad lamp. However I am cross listing in the railroad lamp category as it could have been used in a navigation lamp on or about a railroad bridge. While this fount looks similar to the type used in Adlake Santa Fe and No. 63 railroad switch lamps. This is way too large and won't fit in those lamps. This is a nice pair of vintage brass Perko oil lamps. These lamps stand about 6 1/2 inches high and measure about 5 1/2 inches wide at the base. They have a beautiful patina and are freh from a local estate. The glass chimneys unfortunately did not come with these lamps. But I think replacements could easily be found. Perko De-lite Bow Light, brass maritime oil lamp
Weather-bronzed’ Perko De-lite Bow lantern. Oil-burning allbrass lamp with glass lens, 12.25” tall. This model was carried for quite along time by Perkins Marine, This particular lamp was made in the late 1930s(1934 and earlier models has two brass safety bars protecting the lens, whichwas removed from all models by 1939, per the Perko catalogs) Based on estimatesof the Perko stamp in back, it may have been made in the 1940s– 50s. The oil fount was drilled out and electrified. And promptlyrestored to oil burning capability once I acquired it over two years ago. Alsorepaired was lower brass band that holds the lens in place. Other damage fromits years of use including a wire hole in the top and some twisted metal by thevent holes in the back. Page scans are from the 1939 Perko Catalog.

Antique Brass / Glass Marine Oil Lantern Case- Nice Nautical Decor
A nice old brass and glass oil lantern with a brass cage over glass design. This originally held a small brass oil lamp which I do not have. The lantern has all four sides. The side that opens does not have the original hinge. When at rest on a table the door stays shut just fine. The brass edge that held the hinge pin slips inside and. When you close the hasp, the door stays in place. You may want to put a hinge on it to get it to swing open like it is supposed to. Either way, perfectly serviceable as is. We use it outdoors with an outdoor candle and it has a nice nautical look. It has a wood and brass handle for carrying. Overall in good condition but could use a good polishing and a cleaning. The glass is all good but one small corner has some loss on the inside(see close up photo) Obviously there are some minor dings and bends in the ... morebrass. Rare Wm. Porter Brass Maritime Marine Steamboat Binnacle Whale Oil Lamp Lantern
Just out of a local house is this Rare antique William Porter's Son and Co. binnacle lamp. The lamp is all brass and has a half round design. It is fitted with its original whale oil burner. These were made and advertised for use in steamboats of the period. The lamp measures 9 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches wide. The front measures 6 7/8 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is in excellent condition for its age with only some lines in the brass cap on top and the font looks like it may have leaked. See photos. The lamp is nicely marked with the makers tag of William Porter's Son and Co. 194 Water Street New York. A similar example is pictured in William Porter's and Sons 1891 catalog and lists this one as the large size model. Vintage Caged Brass Nautical Oil Lantern
Vintage nautical oil lantern. It has a really cool cage that covers the entire outside of the lantern to protect the glass. There is a wooden handle and the oil container and wick assembly was made by Wedge. It has not been polished or cleaned up at all since I bought it so all the patina is still on it. It is about a foot tall and 4" wide. It has some good weight to it and is a nice vintage piece that could also easily be converted to electric if desired. Please contact me with any questions. Here is a beautiful. Nicely patinaed, oil lamp, made by Weem's& Platt. This lantern is numbered, early make, and came off a 68' Coranado sailboat that has sailed over seas and back many times. It's in excellent shape and can be polished if need be, however I don't suggest it. It comes with a gimbal mount for leveling the lamp while boating. It can also be mounted on the wall in your home and would look awesome! The lantern itself is selling for $200-250. The gimbal alone is $70-$90. Here it is, w/ a real cheap starting bid. Good luck!
