Great industrial style Nautical light with a beautiful patina. Old gray ship paint was removed with chemical stripper. Rather than sand blasting and exposing a new shiny brass surface. Rubber gaskets replaced the originals but may need to be replaced with more heat resistant ones. Overall it measures approx. 9 1/2" long. New 14 gauge wire is connected to the socket. Heavy Old Nautical Wall Mounted Brass Kerosene Lamp
Very heavy– especially the base– old brass kerosene lamp. 8 ½” tall, 3 ½” across the base. It will stand alone, but is fitted with substantial pegs high on two sides that fit into angled slots of a wall-mounted bracket, and would presumably remain upright in an ocean swell. How far it would swing would of course depend on the height of the chimney. The wick is clean; the mechanism works smoothly; the dome at the top is signed with a‘T’ over‘M’ The surface has darkened fairly uniformly. Very good condition. There are a couple of dents, fortunately, given the dark color of the surface, not very visible. The more obvious one is a linear 1” dimple. No cracks, corrosion, scratches, or repair. Used aboard a ship as a bulkhead. Cabin/wardroom lamp. Stands 16" high. 20" high with the handle upright, 8 1/2" wide x 6" deep. The unit has a three sided glass face. With a right side access door. The burner is made to come out to fill. It also has a key that the wick can be put up or down without opening the door. The chimney also opens up the top section for cleaning or service. Although I could not find any markings. Use your own judgment. And look at the pictures carefully. They probably date back to the 1890s. The brass has been painted over with black paint. They both have been wired for electricity and don’t have their burners. Although their reflectors are present. They measure approximately 17” high to the top of the handle. And 7-1/4” wide. One lantern still has its mounting bracket. And the globe has a crack on the side(approx. 3” long) Also that cap on top is missing a small piece where it would attach to the lantern. Antique nautical marine lantern brass fresnel lens lamp
Up for bids is a wonderful old lamp from a local estate. It stands about 10 1/4" tall not including the ring on top. It measures about 5 1/2" wide. The lamp was electrified at some pint long ago. The original burner was removed and a porcelain socket was installed in its place. The cord. Switch and plug are all in good shape. The socket takes a standard base light bulb. It comes with a mounting bracket attached to a pine board. The board measures about 10 5/8"x 6" The board is varnished and has nicely chamfered edges. The bracket does not look original to the lantern, but does a good job and holds the lantern snugly in place. I have used this lamp on a table as well as on the wall. It makes a great accent light. Glass lenses appear to be the originals and are in good condition with NO cracks or chips. Still in very nice overall condition, just needs cleaning and polishing-if desired. Antique marine nautical ship's MASTHEAD brass oil light/lamp.Rare unusual style. Another one of our great finds! One of many items we have collected from old fishing vessels. Ships, yachts and homes along the Maine coast. Masthead light- A white light placed over the fore-and-after centerline of the vessel. Showing an unbroken light over an arc of 225 degrees, from dead ahead to 22.5 degrees abaft(behind) the beam on both sides of the vessel. On boats less than 12 meters(39.4 feet) in length, the masthead light may be off the fore-and-aft centerline, but must be as close to it as possible. The term"masthead light" is something of a misnomer. More often than not, this light is not at the top of the mast. On motorboats, it is often on a short staff at the top of the cabin. amazing antique vintage brass oil lantern. I dont know exactly the age of the piece but it is in really good shape. 1920's Maritime Nautical Neptune Oil Lamp Brass Ships Lantern
Vintage 1920's maritime brass oil burning ships lantern. I have not polished it but it seems to be in great condition. There is no corrosion to the brass and the glass sides and chimney have no chips or cracks and there is just a small dent on the top. It is missing the wick. Please look at pictures closely. It measures about 15" tall without the handle extended and 6.5" wide. The plate in front is engraved Neptune.
