The lamp stays level at any angle. It also has wear to the finish with corrosion on several spots. So study the pictures carefully. Although most of the piece is made of brass I suspect the shade is a different metal, perhaps copper. I have not tried lighting the lamp(no oil) so I can't say how well it works. I PURCHASED THIS MANY YEARS AGO AND IT HAD ABOUT 10 COATS OF BLACK PAINT ON IT. I TOOK IT TO A PROFESSIONAL AND HAD IT CLEANED AND IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL BRASS. THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO SO IT HAS DULLED OVER THE YEARS BUT WOULD CLEAN BEAUTIFUL AGAIN. IT IS IN REALLY NICE CONDITION. NO GLASS CRACKS OR CHIPS. This antique brass/copper oil lamp is in excellent condition and has a beautiful patina. Only 2 tiny dings at the very top of the chimney about 2mm wide. It measures 13.5"H by 7" W. I can not find a makers mark. But I don't want to polish it to find out. Many antique dealers prefer brass or copper items in there natural aged state. The glass is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks and is beveled. Still has the original oil container with wick and the wick turner does rotate.

I do not see any name on the lantern. There are no dents on the lantern. Front screw opening. The front has the word PORT. The light is heavy red glass. Not plastic. Red original vintage fresnel lens is 5-3/4" high x 5-1/2" diameter, perfect condition save for couple flea bites, only one visible on the outside about 1/4" wide. No cracks. Solid and heavy.17+ lbs. All three gaskets superb, non brittle condition. Minor tarnish/oxidation here and there consistent with age. I've added solid brass acorn decorative nuts. The circular plate is 4" across. The cage is 4 1/4" across& about 6" tall from bottom of cage to screw threads. Pauluhn" is cast into the cage and the angular mounting. P57" is also cast into the angular mounting. There is one part at the top of the cage that appears as though it was buffed to a shine.
